It works well. Old word not missed at all, I’ve been using execute since 2018. Mylo still stays the same. LyLo turns to Eylo, if that’s even necessary to change.
I’ve been working on creating a few cinematic social deduction games off site and was looking into creating terms replacing already, so I love that it’s finally changing.

If you have questions about what that change will look like, those are appropriate posts, please do so, I am watching the thread for those questions! Opining about not making the change or wanting the decision reversed, or some combination thereof, are not really appropriate at this point. We know a tiny number of people oppose this change. We have heard the feedback, we even anticipated hearing that kind of feedback, but we've made the decision anyway to remove lynch from our mafia vocabulary.
Can there still be exceptions if the theme kinda involves the term?
...WHAT THEME GAME ARE YOU THINKING OF RUNNING THAT REQUIRES THIS WORD???
Despite me not caring about the “lynch” term.
I thought I’d share this in case other stuff is brought up.
Now Yes certain events in history were bad and very disgusting.
But it has nothing to do with a term as a whole.
Just because a term can refer to something that may appear to be racist doesn’t mean it is.
Ever heard the saying “Life is what you make it”.
That applies here.
Yes the word is known for being bad in the past but that just means someone can take initiative and change the word from being bad and degrading to something good and pure. (Or at least not as bad as people make it look like it is)
People can change so why can’t terms or things change?
Spoiler Alert - Anything and Anyone can Change.

There's a whole game which theme involves dark age citizens using lynch to find mafia.

You know, what is hilarious is that "I'm 14 and I'm deep" post that was racist earlier has suddenly come full circle and is being hilariously applied to the other side of the argument.
I know school is out for the summer, but do you have to post like this?
Yes my Lord, but questions are dangerous, for they have answers.

Love this. Long overdue. Just an idea and it's probably been mentioned but I'm not reading 46 pages to check, but can't we use that thing we used for Brutal assassin's ass sex name? I think it's called a word filter? Where if anyone says it, the forum changes it in the post for you.

I don’t approve of Racist people nor do I approve of the over reaction to the term.
Although I hate Racist people more there are limitation that must be followed.
If you're like this in person then don't be so sure.
I don't immediately start talking race with them nor do I intend to unless they're fine with it. Also you'd be surprised to find out they don't share your view of the world.

Then you obviously don't understand the Black experience as well as you think you do. I suggest you expand your circle of friends.
I could, but I'd still likely not find anyone with a problem over this word unless I searched inner specific circles.
So you want to not be considered racist but you're making the argument that it would be too much trouble to make Black friends, got it
No, it would not be trouble finding black friends, it would be trouble finding those who would feel disturbed about the word "lynch" used in a game.
For what it’s worth, I have had an issue in the past playing Mafia and then having someone say it, and anytime I played in person, I would actively not say it to never have an issue.

Racist ones
I remember someone on this site trying to make a setup called N's and Vigs. I'll leave you to the imagination what word the N stands for
After the mod team told him to knock that shit off, he tried to call it "Civil Rights Mafia" but the game was never run to my knowledge

This would have been around 2012 or so
Super bad rejected games list would definitely be something i’d want to read and laugh at.
Norwe is spontaneous, has a stream-of-consciouness posting style, usually posts on catch-ups by commenting on past pages posts, gets rather fired up in certain moments in games, is relatively as playful as me in games and likes casual shitposting

Yeah, the racists are the ones getting gunned down in the streets right now...
Yeah, I need to get out of this country if I care about my human rights. This is about to become a facist shithole soon.
Alisae I can promise you that you and me and any other white people will not be at the front of the line for having our rights taken away under any impending fascism in the United States.
