Those are both slippery slope terms, but in the end, it’s because of my scum play. My town play will always be unorthodox, but it kinda has to be or I draw too many night kills.

Even here when I am boosting up the unorthodox, I get night killed.

There's definitely a trend in 2020 large themes of scum teams just never really able to get off the ground and sort of trying to blend into the middle, but then getting POE'd by towns linking up.

I'm not sure that this is something a setup can fix, it's a mentality and site meta issue, IMO.

I have a strong performance style that some games as town does not mesh well.

I’ve accepted my play as a Scum Lord who can solve town games if left alive to late game consistently, but early game town for me is just playing the field. Sometimes my reads are right, sometimes they’re not.

I also think in general that the length of the night phases in this game just does not translate well to this medium, ESPECIALLY in a game where the days were only lasting 1-2 RL days. I won't be trying something like this again.

Or maybe two.

Scum just aren’t taking action.

If scum take action in a large game, they can obv wolf and still run a thread.

11-30-2020 SirCakez Cabd (1) Xenoblade 2 Mafia - As mentioned in my previous nom this game was a total massacre for town and it was completely lead by Cabd. Cabd totally nailed me day 1 and proceeded to correctly nail every other scum by night 2. His insane presence at day gave scum no chance at all to control the game and had us wanting to NK him from the first 24 hours. His incredibly accurate reads had town in the driver's seat the whole game. AND THIS WAS ALL WHILE HE WAS DEALING WITH SURGERY!

(2) Smoke-Filled Antechamber - While not the stomp that Xenoblade 2 was (due to unrelated player choices), Cabd showed his scumhunting and townleading chops here. He did an excellent job uniting the town and helped quickly sort the game down into a POE pool from which town ultimately won the game.

(3) Mini 2167: Illicit Substances Mafia - I did not play in this but Flavor Leaf can attest to Cabd's skill here.

I think the best way for scum to counteract hyperposting by town is to pit them against one another. I don't believe adding to the density of the thread helps. Cakez was clearly here and trying to gain momentum, but it didn't matter because he never adjusted town's view. He just kept saying Cabd was tunneling the shit out of him, but didn't offer a stronger altnerative. I think scum are afraid of the pressure, but forget that town make mistakes too; just pretend you're town doing the same

But yeah town did a phenomenal job mobilizing so quickly and scum just let it happen to the point where the game was PoE'd by the end of Day 1

Great job to Cabd obviously, definitely worthy of a Scummie nomination

I'm sad this game didn't get more time to shine because the abilities and mechanics do seem really cool, thanks for borkjerfkin and penguin_alien for hosting and letting me play! :)

It was hard because I couldn't find another person to push aside from BM (who was a whole can of worms and not really viable) or Noraa (who was my buddy)
And Cabd's thread presence was way too strong
It also didn't help I was traveling all day during Day 1

Yeah I get your mindset Cakez, it was like town was being obvtown, so you went for the angle of the bus on Noraaaaaaa

I just think your desperation of the fact made it clear it was a distancing attempt, I think you could've thought of something

this makes sense
my biggest mistake in MBoS 10 was probably trying to pit myself against MM

There was a lot of invisible things that happened that raised Cabd’s presence.

scum allowed him to take full credit for that SirCakez wagon, which had no resistance besides me who was faking an LLD wagon but planned to hammer Cakez.

Night 1, Cabd and I had a PT, and he got to spend the night solving. I gave my thoughts, we both were up to like 6 am+ both night phases most days, so him being uncontested allowed me to essentially be mason with him, so he’s Pharah from Overwatch, and I’m just Mercy spam healing.

I mind melded with Tammy Noraa case, which helped connect Ffery to Cabd and gain trust.

Then Cobra Kai is a great Lucio. Maybe I’ll do an actual write up after I read through PT’s.
