re: notscience. i think everything scum-ns does is typically just lacking a layer of temerity, even if it's sometimes analytic in nature, it doesn't break the barriers of someone being legitimately confident in engaging with the thread or its occupants.

i think solidly clears that bar for me. NS might be the only player on site i'd be so confident in here, but i just continue not to worry about him, even if he's not been omnipresent.

Can you talk to me about nacho and I’ll look when I get back? I’m trying to see him as town and I just can’t.

if there's anything that bothers me about bulge is that he's very obviously been reading but he's chosen to only engage about one thing in particular and that thing is an unflipped association (infinity/l&g) which i'm worried the grounds aren't particularly solid on.

I realize he has Qs for me about infinity which i should responsibly reexamine my read while answering, but that will probably come tonight.

I think a lot of my trepidation around nacho revolves around my history of scumreading him and him never ever being scum (still to this day don't recall a T-bork S-nacho table)

i'm basically trying to search in my heart of hearts to see if comes from town and see if his incredulity is because i am not getting him there or if he's just pushing me away.

The point i was trying to make in the post at the beginning of that chain was that he goes in w/ cakez and makes a big deal about how he's going to make the game miserable for cakez if his attitude continues, which isn't a sentiment i expect from someone unsure of why cakez is doing what he's doing, and i don't know if nacho legitimately missed the point i was trying to make and thought i was saying "his push was unwarranted" or is just trying to be obtuse about it.

the thing that gives me pause is that nacho and i have interacted this way in the past, although admittedly not recently.

I just don't have a lot of confidence in my ability to read him overall.

I don’t think bulge is out of scum range

Re nacho I have been patiently waiting to play vs him as scum since he’s been back and have only seen town each time. The level of engagement here is higher which could just be to real life and I can’t talk because my availability is lower. But I haven’t liked how he’s approached Cakez, and nacho did say that his approach would be the same as if he were scum but he would use it on someone with a history of reading him right, which almost felt like a discredit of Cakez as well. I frankly think scums plan this game would be to bus and coast off the residual townreads. Also PoE is not in his favor, I’ve got four townreads of varying strength already and I need what, three more to have it fully PoE’d?

oh right I also disliked mena because he was insisting that bussing was not viable and scum would never bus. reminded me of panic room but in the opposite direction.

@kismet I have specific things I was looking for from ydrasse. based on the page I looked at she seemed to be slightly closer to what I expect from her as town than from her as scum, but it’s a very weak read because I don’t think I’ve actually played with her before. I also don’t know if it’s fakeable as scum if she’s in a situation like this.

Y'all post too much, how am I supposed to scumhunt like this?
Also, what is NM doing? Worst play I’ve ever seen.
I can't remember the last N_M post that wasn't bland, unimaginative and lame. Some shitposters are at least somewhat funny. You are the epitomy of the type of poster that nobody would miss if you were to suddenly disappear. You never add anything of value.
I'm guessing you haven't read the game and probably never will? Why even sign up to play?

Would [scum] go out of their way to discredit and deter someone with a high likelihood of scumreading them?

With some more rereading and reflection:

Nacho really started this kerfuffle w/ cakez w/ after Cakez expressed a read that i would summarize as "I can't grasp a townie mindset to this trajectory, so i am inclined to scumread it" in / which i mean, obviously isn't what town nacho should want but really isn't aggressive or seemingly unwilling to be convinced especially considering how early in the game it happened.

is purely a reaction to

seems disingenuous when viewed in that light. Whereas if I were town and made , i wouldn't have expected anyone to take that lying down, no matter what their alignment is, and , while possibly unhelpful from a gamesolving standpoint, should be kinda expected and not deserving of the grandstanding against cakez that nacho did in

My big issue with Cakez’s vote there is how delayed it was. Like I feel like the action was very delayed with the thought and came across too slowly. Like he had to make two separate posts about it

Ya that's what i was getting at when i spoke about nacho's tone earlier - the level of anomosity and like annoyance doesnt really match anything cakez did here

(Also gonna reiterate that he ignored me pointing this out)

Bulge hasn’t done anything yet, I’m surprised Cakez is townreading him to be honest.

I agree about his tone being over the top, and idk if you’ve already considered this skitter but my stance is it could be from town in the same venue that yours/a few others got annoyed between tenet and 2181 if that makes sense? It does take a bit to cool off.

I mean i did make note that this could be like a massive grudge thing carrying on from popcorn mafia, but wasnt it a few months ago already? And wouldnt it be, like, smarter to just not join games together vs carrying a grudge and snap-reacting to getting scumread by someone who you clearly have some beef with?
(Like i avoided you lot for a bit till i got over it etc)

Idk it feels very performative and unnatural to me

Maybe? I was the first to die so it was the longest for me

I do agree I’m just playing devils advocate. I still think scums game plan was to sac some people and powerbus but it’s really tricky when so many of the plist is good at standing out as town
