The message blares from her computer speakers. Samantha smirked. Nuclear impact? She had nothing to worry about. This shelter was fortified to the brim. Surrounded in concrete, then steel, then titanium, then depleted uranium, then rare metals from the crust of Mars. Nothing was getting through.

Samantha burps. Scratches her stomach. Heads over to her fridge and gets out something to drink. Goes to the cabinet. Gets out some snacks.

Samantha goes back to her computer. Opens a new tab. Searches "Funny Cat Videos" on YouTube. Opens a bag of chips.
