Heart
I'm thinking drill/train as the other two, they make a lot of sense together, idk if he'd take that angle for one of them and ignore the other, so Life + one of these seems unlikely. plus that one for Life is more of a stretch, imo, despite its adjacency to Heart.

when I think drill I think specifically of an intense set of reps. like if someone says they're working out or going for a run it's like yea hey cool but if they say they're running drills it's like oh wow that sounds sweaty and hard.

yea string was for sure one of the TIE words, Pin seems like a good guess for the other?
I think I'm at Bark/Conductor/Pin as well. thinking the conductor of a choir rather than a train conductor. the only other word I could be sold on I think is BUTTON but that's bringing the show "The Voice" into the mix.

it's a singing competition where the judges' chairs are faced away from the stage and if they like what they hear they make a big deal out of hitting a button that turns their chair around. it's pretty well-known, the celeb judges are always A-list, but I've never been into the show so idk how much they lean on the button itself like branding-wise?

I like these suggestions, I think diver is easily the biggest stretch of the bunch?
I'm thinking TICK > FILM > CHECK > WIND > PUPIL
for check I'm thinking more along the lines of like watching for something/checking for something, but with both possible meanings I think it's all the more likely.

how common is this knowledge? if haschel is aware of diving watches, would he presume us to be as well? i think we can assume more people would be likely to make the WIND/PUPIL connections before DIVER, making it a better clue for the former imo.

good game! it crossed my mind to weigh the possibility of haschel only interpreting it as the blowy kind of wind, but I definitely thought that it wasn't the bomb lol.

compound was barely discussed before, didn't expect it to pop up on a zero clue. gg, still a fun game, and well played by both teams

this should be a good indication it's both of them

my original thought for the second clue was "Organics" (for organic materials, Olive/Rose/Web plus a bonus chance at Lab or an extra stab at a Status guess) but that was sure to land on Compound, probably first. "Biotics" means the same thing to me but better evokes Lab and would probably dodge Compound (I believe you were all on the trail of "bionics" with the Robot guess). I figured either way a clue of 4 would dodge the 4 animals (because "why would he not just do Animal - 4") but I totally wasn't thinking of Bug in the viral sense, which for sure would have been my first guess personally aha, so that obviously wasn't a great alternate to Organics after all. also idk how or why the '-s' stuck around lol, which definitely made it worse/more Bug-indicative.

oh we only have 3 left? confidence up to 99. I'd say let's do Dice>poison>green
I don't know for sureeee that the sahuagin inflict poison damage, but nothing else here really works, and that is one of D&D's damage types, and is certainly the one that best fits the sahuagin flavour-wise.

i mean, unless the creatures actually originates from Atlantean lore and was borrowed by d&d designers. but I find that unlikely. plus Haschel strikes me as a ttrpg type, and I don't think he would pull out some obscure mythical creature without it being a direct reference to something he'd expect at least some of us to be familiar with.

Green, poison, DICE stand out to me.
Ah! You showed up at exactly the right time! <3
no kidding! haha sorry for disappearing
In post 6888, Nancy Drew 39 wrote:Can you explain “green”? I’m obviously fine with it, since you clearly know exactly what you’re talking about.
So, I think dice fitst then?
pretty straightforward, the monsters have green flesh/scales. haschel has to expect us to guess something as simple as that imo, but it's the least specific of the three.
I'm good with dice first. poison and green have other far less obscure ways of being clued, like a real-life plant or animal. but if my last 3 clues as spy master were those two plus dice, irl creature->fictional creature seems like the most natural choice, so dice is like, pretty integral to the validity of the clue.

yea that was pretty devastating aha
i may have hard vetoed the correct guess you had all decided on in my absence , BUT in my defense I basically only forced us to trade Atlantis for Dice
gg, wp! sorry again for disappearing! im still game for the next one.
