This kinda stepping into other shoes stuff, trying to twist around and figure out mindsets and attitudes and whether or not someone is playing with a team, is something that is really hard to fake as scum (because you have to do an extra layer of it - you're stepping into the shoes of town stepping into the shoes of another player) but comes naturally for townies.

reskimming again, i'm not sure i vibe with this read. mainly, a read like "this person is lazy so probably town" feels like one of the easier reads to fake as scum, because you don't really have to put nuance into it or analyze if their few reads are scum or town motivated, you just slap a "lazy town" sticker on it and move on. not saying those kinda reads don't come from town, but goats painting it as "really hard to fake as scum" rubs me the wrong way

I'm not saying that "this person is lazy so probably town" is hard to fake

I'm saying that klick noticed that dwlee was putting forward an argument but not really trying to hammer it down their throats or be super convincing about the way they push that narrative. I think town notices that a lot more often than scum because they're more attentive to what people are trying to do to them whereas scum is usually only concerned about what they do to other people.

Genuine frustration but as I said before it could be a caught for the wrong reasons thing and if he is town I kinda get what he is saying about your push on him? Which is why you're also in my confused pile.

if dwlee really believed this, they'd probably be at least questioning goats and trying to sort them if not voting them, since the most likely scenario from their pov is that gl is town. and they had gl as an actual townread earlier.

because the "haha guys i can read murdercat and he's not obvious scum so he's probtown" is like, a lazy read that i've done as scum before (tbf it was towards a townie), but coupled with then weirdly shifting him in the middle because he's obviously being a non-entity, then dropping him down completely but not voting him until someone else did just strikes me as weird - like partner not wanting to scumread a buddy, but realizing the buddy is giving them literally nothing to work with (and knowing there's me/pooky here who would probably see you in a bad light if you flubbed a townread on murdercat) and voting them when others are but still like, not saying anything about him or whatever

i don't wanna get tunneled/confbiased on the above because i am aware that i rarely make early s/s reads that end up making sense, and i'm aware it's possible you were just at a wrong place at a wrong time so to speak, so idk lol

The reason I am posting elsewhere but not in this game is laid out in my first post. I have decided to self-impose the challenge restriction of only posting 25 times total to win this game. Maybe it'll take 50 I dunno.

I'd update my readslist with stuff thats happened but I am a bit tipsy so that will have to wait.

I am underwhelmed by Murdercat's re-entry into the thread.

Specifically the weakness involved in just randomly throwing townreads out there with no real scumread or any intention of getting one.

I would expect someone who won Paragon of Mafia Hunters to be able to at least come up with like 1 scumread or scumlean or look like he's trying to find a baddie.

But like cmon this is pretty weaksauce.

Re-iterate willingness to yeet MC unless I see something dramatically change.

to try to explain this better cause I phrased it poorly cause tired, I vibe with what Infinity is pointing out that Dwlee said he townread me but didn't have any followup or questioning towards goats to further sort whether goats' push was town-motivated. I could see that being scum that doesn't want to vote on the wagon and look dirty if it goes through but at the same time isn't necessarily invested in slowing momentum of goats pushing the wagon - that hesitance of 'wanting the wagon to go through without me on it' is what I mean by "play around me"

Pooky hadn't done anything when I had them in the PoE pile but the first wall was good posting and I read all the reactions to my posts and they felt legit. Since then, I think his reaction to implo emote telling was good.
