GL, could you elaborate on what exactly you meant by wanting to vote redtea? I assumed you meant closer to the end of our timer, as opposed to starting a wagon right now?

okay that was funny fua

GL I'm against voting redtea right now because I think their posts are perhaps in a trajectory to get me to town lean them. they are null town for me at the moment after their last posts which was already an improvement over the null scum read I had on them for their entrance.

hot take, not voting makes people harder to solve and gives less content to read them off of than the spectrum of activity/inactivity

I'd like everyone not voting to explain in their next post if they'd be willing to vote redtea and why or why not
I am not of the voteliness is next to godliness school of mafia thought. And I've rubbed off on Neuterhalf. I don't vote until I want to see a single specific player eliminated. I may change my mind, and I may compromise late in a game day.

Our bottom tiers look like this right now:

{implosion, imaginality, numbers}
{NSG, redtea}

redtea's posts have been low-content for the most part and when he answers questions the answers don't really satisfy. For instance, he made a statement about fua's alignment being easily discerned with some meta reference, but nothing about that post indicated his read of fua, which gives him tons of wiggle room when someone (quite possibly me) comes back with an opinion.

NSG's initial content was unimpressive and low quantity though pleasant. I'm keeping an open mind on the slot, but that's where she currently sits wrt to everyone who's posted more content.

i won't dispute that what i've said in this game so far has been mostly low-stakes and not particularly insightful, but seeing the word "unimpressive" makes me think that your expectations might be a little off – i wouldn't expect to be impressed by me. to be clear, i'm not trying to preemptively excuse nonparticipation or weak content or whatever, i'm just saying that if you have the expectation of me as someone who's going to "solve the game" or whatever (as some people still do), i think that you should modulate that expectation down, so to speak. i think that that would probably make the game a better experience for both of us.

anyways, i got sidetracked earlier after my latest post, still reading through the thread but felt i should say that.

What does "ehh" mean, then? Because you're saying you'd be surprised if you're wrong on more than one person in that tier. Or more than 0 if redtea is scum or one of your stronger reads is wrong.

I want to start a wagon right now, but I don't want the day to end. Why is everyone acting like voting somebody is now a signal that you're ready for the day to end? Did I miss a change in sitemeta or something?

When the game is in a weak state like this (multiple people not voting, no serious wagons) it makes it really easy for scum to blend in. They can just post words without having to do anything or commit to anything. I like it when wagons get up to E-3, E-2, E-1, even if I'm not ready for an actual hammer, even if the person being wagoned isn't my top choice. It means people who are on the wagon are more committed to who they're voting - and if they back off at that point, it often says a lot. It means people who
aren't
on the wagon are confronted with a question - will they ultimately support this wagon? Or are they going to speak up against it? Who do they think should be the center of attention instead? And it means the person
being
wagoned is now staring down a Very Real possibility that they might die today.

The current gamestate provokes none of these interesting questions and doesn't put any pressure on anybody to do anything or take any stances. It's easy to write your opinions about a post or an ISO. It's a lot harder to put your money where your mouth is. That's why wagons are good. They create stakes that demand real positions and real commitment.

yeah, but you're at least shopping your vote around and showing a willingness to explore other votes. nQ hasn't done that

1045 is a good post and sums up a lot of my feelings of ennui toward this game at this moment.
