DAY ONE ENDS

"--lady, my lady, my--!"

A lone figure shrouded in loose robes bursts through the entrance to the illustrious Rainbow Hall in search of a familiar Knight of Hue turned cult leader. He spots her seated at the banquet table, beside Crimson, who holds a tattered and bloody cloth to one eye.

He drops to his knees unceremoniously before the two of them.

"Have you lost your wits? Up with you!" Lavender exclaims as she rises from her seat. Crimson does not respond.

"N-no, no!" he stammers, standing upright, "There is an issue, you see... the others. They're, ehm.. how do you say it-- witch-hunting?"

Bang!

The doors to the hall slam open once more. This time, however, seven cultists pour in, a prisoner dragged along in tow.

"Could one of you kindly expand upon the meaning of this? Was I perhaps not clear enough when I gave word to 'not come until morning'..?" Lavender manages to get out in her exasperation.

The group forces their captive before the two Achromatics. Crimson's attention appears to become fixated on something, at last.

He rises to his feet, "An execution, I presume? You needn't worry yourself with this, love," he says, brushing past Lavender.

The frenzied mob lets go of their suspect at last, eyeing Crimson as they back up slowly.

The red knight offers an outstretched arm to the cultist, shaking and sprawled out on the floor, "And what would your name be then, lad?"

Accepting the hand, the man slowly and carefully pulls himself up to his feet.

"It's 'Greeting', sir."

Crimson looks the cultist over. His garments are torn in multiple places, he favours one leg. The knight appears to become lost in his head once more.

"Greeting.." the Crimson Knight unsheathes his sword and, in a second swift motion, plunges it through the cultist's heart.

"May the Sun, in all of its vibrant colour and light, take pity on you."

The accused goes limp immediately. Crimson retracts his sword, and.. unexpectedly, lets the body fall. It shatters immediately into a hundred grey and jagged fragments, some of which slide and make contact with the remaining cultists' feet. The cults' hoods hide faces of shock and disbelief at the scene before them.

There's no colour.

Crimson, apparently unbothered by this, turns around and, upon spying his lady, smiles at her and retakes his seat.

The hunched-over figure in robes standing before Lavender does not budge an inch, save to help clear his throat.

"So is this how the newest Lady deals with her devotees," the crooked man starts, turning to leave, "You're no noblewoman — you're an assassin for hire. The others, they may view you as they might—"

"The others whom all, may I remind you, heralded the execution of one of their own upon absolutely zero basis—" Lavender begins, agitated.

The elder flashes cranes his neck to flash an angry glare and barks out, "An execution carried out by that outrageous

pet project

of yours. I am already quite knowledgeable on Greeting's murder, thank you."

Lavender, who had previously opened her mouth to speak, decides against it, keeping it open slightly.

"I suppose you still don't want to hear about the reason I came — Mad Hatters Tea Party is dead."

The convert cultist perks her eyes and ears up.

"We found them both upon sunrise. As he was clutching shattered bits of faer in his hands, and spitting out dust from the broken glass, it is reported he whispered a prayer of sanctification over the shards."

The man's tone shifts from angry to displeased.

"I hope for the both of our sakes he isn't simply getting warmed up. Or perhaps.. you would like to send the remnant with me, after all?"

Without a word, Lavender motions for him to leave.

"Oh, and also.."

Lavender tips her head in his direction as he exits.

"Put a leash on that tongue of yours, if you know what's good for you. Just how many more, do you think, are willing to sacrifice for

you

?"

DAY TWO BEGINS

Caw!

Off in the distant barren treeline, a murder of crows begins to stir. The once-luscious, pale green trees and vegetation of Chartreuse are but twigs now.

A lighter than expected party of cultists traverse the terrain. There is no sound to be heard anywhere, save for the crunching of wood and rot under their boots.

"The realm known for its ease at which it teems with life becomes the most desolate. How ironic."

"Actually, that's not irony. That's sarcasm."

Lavender raise a hand for the group to stop, pointing ahead to the flock.

She speaks, lowering her voice, "Have you lot forgotten? A number of outlying villages surrounding the late Chartreuse's kingdom are still holding out."

"A vain attempt by them, but one that requires our full focus to stamp out nevertheless. Do

not

let your guard down." Lavender says.

The hunting party continues on shortly after — more carefully, this time. In order to survive, each cultist present must decide which is more dangerous, the enemy hiding away from them, or the enemy hiding in plain sight?

better question is why it shifted hard to greeting

i hammered because it was going through and i figured with the lack of actual wording dedicated to what exactly happens and how compulsive eliminations happens here as opposed to it being explained to us in previous games that hammering was better than not doing so just to be safe
