Not_Mafia's whole schtick is lolhammering wherever possible, regardless of alignment. Which is why E-1 is particularly dangerous territory this game.

Backing off after no one went with it is probably NAI, because could be Town that realizes the mistake, or scum backpedaling when it didn't take.

I didn't say it was a prequel role - what I referenced is that The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles features one of the most iconic detectives of all time, Herlock Sholmes (Sherlock Holmes). I am Ace Attorney's most iconic detective, Dick Gumshoe, a Detective.
So I 100% disagree with kcda's logic there, not least because as already noted scum have valid fakeclaims available...

I don't think, despite the wrongness, that NK15 had shown a wolfy mindset this game. Perhaps overzealousness and overconfidence - but not wolfiness.
