Okay, so your feeling is that Luke is being skittish, because he's worried he'll give something away. He's staying on the edges of what is safe to say, and using that to dance away from danger and find his footing.

So in this worldview, Luke would have asked Peta and I about leading him as a way to gather two strong shields he could have pitch solving ideas at him, and then take the one he likes best and run with it and sink his teeth in there, having backup from a louder more aggressive player if he gets questioned on it.

And because he got rebuffed by you from that, he's been scrambling to find another entry point.

Is that about a summary?

Why I think it's going to be a pain in the ass

This is why I'm being so aggressively social and poking at tons of different people.

If players want to hide in the self aware cautious area, the way to beat it is to force them out of that area and control the conversation over them to see what they do.

See: What I just did with Peta. Weird ass conversation using a metaphor of a 2 year old game as the call back point. Did it need to be done that way? Nope! Infact Peta complained about how the scenarios were different like, twice.

Did it break out of a comfort zone of answers and force somehting more immediately genuine that I could read?

What is your own interpretation of Lukewarm

My current feelings about LLD amount to that it makes me uncomfortable that they're asking you to marry them when they haven't even bought you dinner first.
It's got nothing to do with their alignment. My generic brain thought is that boundary busting is fairly uniquely town and tends to back fire. But you said yourself they're being careful to come off as reasonable. Not to mention, it's LLD. I don't think boundary busting applies in the same way it would if it were someone like me doing it.
They're also just asking typical LLD questions when they're feeling okay about their day. So I don't see anything other than weak town pings from that angle.

Right, yeah. So... my experience is that Luke really is that affable you talk about, and that's very very very fair and normal.

My experience is also that... circumstantially, the previous game I played with Luke (HotD) Luke was much more subdued as town in terms of... energy.

So I'm wondering... circumstantially, how you're... taking that into account

i wasn't complaining! i just think it's useful to examine contexts relative to the game and how that influences people's behavior and thinking
