I noticed early on that camelCasedSnivy seems to have trouble reassessing reads. His reads are awfully consistent. On page 33, his reads were here:

townies: merlyn, rat
probably town: ranger, kyoko, drew

maybe town: tweet
null: everyone else probably for a good reason or a bad reason
maybe scum: python, abnegation, std
scum: bianco (or whoever they were being replaced by), aureal, rauth, snivy!!!

i can elaborate if someone wants but I think I made it clear

You make a compelling point, and I was actually just about to comment that I feel I have too few scumreads (Kyoko, Rauth, and maybe your slot but not really due to this post), so I'm gonna have a look at Snivy's ISO for myself but I think I agree with your evaluation overall.

^^ Aside from Abnegation, the townreads were almost the same. Another thing was the persistence of his Python scumread. Python was hard pushing Rauth (more on this later). Snivy also had Rauth as his main push as of 754, but he also had Python as a holdover scumread from early game.... the justification for it in 933 (something about Python's Wheme push) feels pretty meh as well.

It feels a lot like what I tend to do as scum, where my reads are easier to track because I make sure to leave a paper trail so to speak.

He has Python, a near consensus townread, as a scumread basically throughout the game, but he doesn't seem to care that so many other people townread them. I don't detect any sense of urgency to lim the people he thinks could be scum. Rather, he seems to be very content to go with the flow, as evidence with his recent vote switching between Merlyn (my slot) and Wheme - the top two wagons atm.

I'm not sure if I understand your question tbh but I'll try to answer

In general, I don't think town has to pivot their read. Tunneling can come from either alignment. I've seen town tunnel because they were pursuing a genuine read, and I've seen scum shit-tunnel because it allows them to pretend to do something and everyone goes "wow much conviction so town!"

The one sentence scumcase summary is that I don't get the sense that Snivy believes in his reads, and some reads feel fabricated. The lack of a 'pivot' doesn't really factor into it.

But to actually answer your question - one reason to pivot would be that he's scumreading rauth using the same reasoning that python did (1142)

rauth vote on snivy doesnt look good tbh so i can see where that wagon comes from again.

the wagon on snivy seems a bit meh on skim tbh. I actually didn't get pinged with the read changes. I just felt a bit of a "panic" per say when wagon on him started but It doesn't equate to them being scum in my head so Im not sure.

RR seems more towny past few pages, sheep seems more scummy. DE seems a bit more towny, but still hard to judge tier and am also conflicted about wheme's underwhelming engagement and their expectations of it being read differently.

cat seems a bit opportunistic but its more of them jumping in game and pushing to sort through feel than scum jumping in to redirect and push, so I wanna tr that slot for now too.
