Spoiler:
CIRCLE, DEGREE are obvious.
The third one I'm not sure, but I like NEEDLE the most (as it directly relates to compasses and hence to angles)

Spoiler: my thoughts

I think it's pretty obvious that CIRCLE and DEGREE are both ours. But what about the third one?

I am personally not seeing anything else that has even mediocre connection to RADIAN. Like I can see weak links to Fence, Belt, Space, Drill and Needle (in about that order), but they are so weak I don't feel I can even explain them, and I'm sure our spymaster could think of a better clue to link to them if they were the intended target.

So that makes me ask, "why radian?"
And my answer is probably the best clue would've been either degree or circle, but the spymaster can't use that. So if we assume the spymaster wanted us to interpret it as "circle - 3", then I think it's CIRCLE, DEGREE, and PLATE.

huh, I didn't think of that. So needle moves to mid tier.

Let's see what NM says.

Spoiler:

You are right, but I could say the same for COMPASS - 3 regarding NEEDLE (and I think circumference 3 would lead me closer to fence).

Also, I think there's no shame in just guessing 2 clues and passing, and seeing what our spymaster does next.

Sorry I'm here
Also, what is NM doing? Worst play I’ve ever seen.
I can't remember the last N_M post that wasn't bland, unimaginative and lame. Some shitposters are at least somewhat funny. You are the epitomy of the type of poster that nobody would miss if you were to suddenly disappear. You never add anything of value.
I'm guessing you haven't read the game and probably never will? Why even sign up to play?

I agree on Circle and Degree, My other thought was Fence, a bit random but maths questions in school about degrees, angles etc... would often feature fences

DEGREE

CIRCLE

Lol I get what kind of problem you're thinking but strangely enough I don't think I have ever seen one with a fence. Over here they usually feature stuff like flags or trees

So should we do fence, needle, or just pass?

I'm personally in favor of passing, and seeing if we can gather more ideas by the time next clue hits.

If we really want to tempt fate with a third word, we can do one of plate/needle/fence, but I'm also in favour of passing

Shit I just realized we probably should have guessed both Needle and Fence for a higher EV.

Multiple guesses are checked in order, not simultaneously, so that wouldn't have worked.

There's 5 choices I can think of for typewriter. Which 4 do you think is the best?

Novel - Novel can be written on a typerwiter.
Code - There's a feature called code typewriter effect.
Note - There are typerwriter note cards and typewriter paper notes.
Copper - Some types of typewriter's are called copper typewriter.
Theater - Play scripts for a theater can be written on a typewriter.

I wrote this up before looking at what Adorable posted:
Spoiler: Typewriter

BELT: Don't those use some sort of belt to function? Might also explain the more archaic "Typewriter" over "Keyboard".
NOVEL: something that a typewriter could be used for.
TRAIN: typewriting is a skill that could be trained.
CAPITAL: capital letters could be produced by a typewriter.
NOTE: something else a typewriter could be used for.
SPACE: space bar! a key on the typewriter.

Spoiler: Comments

Novel and Note are the two common links.

I haven't heard of the code typewriter effect specifically. However, code tags do use a fixed width font, which is what typewriters usually use. So I can see a connection there.

Haven't heard of a copper typewriter before.
Theater ... eh, maybe? I think we've got enough other ones to choose from.

On my end: I'm very uncertain about BELT being relevant. I'm picturing the mechanism ... what's the term, platen? and I don't think belts are involved. Was also thinking of the correction ribbon, and maybe conflating the two.

TRAIN is probably also not a good choice.

I still like my other four, but NOVEL / SPACE / CAPITAL / NOTE could also be done with Keyboard. CODE is another possibility, but that also works with keyboard (programming - writing code would be done exclusively with a keyboard).

Unless PLATE is somehow relevant ... plate > platen?

Will hold on my rankings until Datisi chimes in.

whoops sorry, was waiting on you two because i was kinda stumped and then i forgot to reply last night

novel and note were my top picks. my third was needle, because don't typewriters have a needle-type thing when you press a key down and it pushes the mark onto the paper? but considering neither of you thought about it, that's probably not very good...

novel / note / space / capital are probably my 4 choices. but all those 4 work with keyboard, and i don't really see a word that fits with keyboard but not typewriter, so why wouldn't keyboard be our clue? which makes me think the 4 is wrong

how common of phrases are "code typewriter effect" and "copper typewriter"? i've never heard of either of those, but i'm also not the best person to say that since. y'know. *points at my location*

and words like train and theater just seem like too weak of links for typewriter specifically
I will straight up disregard all reason if you have a PR dream again. You can come back and be like, “I dreamt that Locke is a N2 Bulletproof Multitasking Cop and Self-Targeting Doctor,” and I will go, “Okay, Locke kill it is then.”

I agree with novel and note being my top picks. Space and and capital never occurred to me and these choices could also work for the clue.

Code typewriter effect doesn't seem to be common and it was a choice that came up in my head. Some typewriters are made out of copper and I thought that would have been one of the clue choices.
