DST is awesome and going back to standard time and having it suddenly getting dark an hour earlier SUCKS. The only thing worse would be it getting dark that early even MORE of the year because DST didn't exist at all.
About how far north are you? The sun wouldn't set that early in San Antonio even without DST; 5:37 PM is the earliest sunset I can find on timeanddate.com for 2024 here.

My big concern is children going to school in the dark, but I can be talked into supporting having DST all year long if school starts later to compensate (no earlier than 8:00 AM without DST or 9:00 AM with). The sun can rise as late as about 7:30 AM in the winter here.

I'd still rather have a 4:30 PM sunset than an 8:30 AM sunrise.

And yeah, Texas is just about ideal for DST... no sunrise earlier than 6:30 or later than 7:30-ish.

I read that Romans used to have their day and nights both 12 hours long year-round. In other words, in summer, daytime hours were longer than night-time ones and vice versa in winter.

Jake The Wolfie was the only player who failed to get the top answer and who had three goose eggs. With only 15 points, he is shaken off the top and drops to level 1.

Only Ircher and tris remain at the top. Will one of them win?

That one was close to home - I live in Christchurch, NZ, and my current house, job, and relationship status are all directly a result of the earthquakes we had here in 2010-2011.

Q11: Name three famous landmarks of religious significance.

Mecca/Kaaba (8):
Aureal, biancospino, Datisi, DeasVail, Jake The Wolfie, JerryArr, N, tris
Christ the Redeemer (6):
Aureal, imaginality, JerryArr, mallowgeno, racefan12, Searl
Notre Dame (6):
Aureal, Cheery Dog, imaginality, JerryArr, racefan12, tris
St. Peter's Basilica (3):
biancospino, imaginality, mallowgeno
Vatican City/Holy See (3):
Cheery Dog, Jake The Wolfie, N
Great Pyramids of Giza (2):
Cheery Dog, Searl
Hagia Sophia (2):
Ircher, Jake The Wolfie
Taj Mahal (2):
DeasVail, N

Non-scoring answers

Angkor Wat: racefan12
Auschwitz: Datisi
Dome of the Rock: mallowgeno
Mont-Saint-Michel: Ircher
Mt. Sinai: biancospino
Parthenon: tris
Sistine Chapel: DeasVail
St. John's Cathedral: Searl
Stonehenge: Ircher
Wailing Wall: Datisi

Irrelevant players

DragonEater70 (10): Hagia Sophia, Mecca, Western Wall
StrangerCoug (9): Notre Dame, Dome of the Rock, St. Peter's Basilica

I thought Charles510 submitted answers for this question, but if he did, I accidentally deleted them. If he still has them, I will add them here.

Aureal and JerryArr tie for the top score this question with 20, a perfect score!
With only one scoring answer, and just barely, Ircher has the lowest score with 2 and drops to level 1. That leaves only tris on level 0—can she hold on to her position until someone officially drops to level 7?

Edit:
Corrected the scores in the spreadsheet; they were correct above.

8+6+6=20 or 17?

It looks like there's an error in the spreadsheet; I will hunt it down in the morning.
I found it; it's erroneously scoring as if you didn't submit at all. Will restore in the morning.

I almost went with St Peter's Basilica instead of the Parthenon. I thought of Christ the Redeemer, but couldn't remember what it was called.

I'm curious why Mecca and the Kaaba where grouped together, but St. Peter's Basilica and Vatican City weren't.

it's the "i cannot remember the correct answer but i refuse to leave this question blank" mentality

I almost joined Ircher on Stonehenge using that reasoning.
(In the end I just declared Vatican City as a whole a landmark, although that same thought I refused to allow myself to submit Mecca)

Primarily because the Sistine Chapel is also in the Vatican and is not the same thing as St. Peter's Basilica. I'm open to discussion as to whether all three should be grouped together, but it won't affect the lowest score.
