Wow, people are seriously taking the focus away from LyingBrian and zu_Faul.

Sorry - this time of year I tend to be busy with family stuff (we don't have Thanksgiving in Australia to split the holiday season family get-togethers up)LyingBrian wrote:still waiting on a response fromVesuvan......
One part of this is because it's the best way for the mafia to identify the SK and vice versa by people's reactions, but I only apply that to more experienced players. It's a pattern that I've noticed over a long period of time that the people trying to identify who is making each kill are doing so because they have additional information about how people are dying at night.LyingBrian wrote:
i am still rather newbish when it comes to larger games & specific scum tells, so please explain to me why theorizing about how many groups and types of groups we have is a scum tell...Vesuvan wrote:assigning kills to specific groups/individuals
your right, here, there is no reason to suspect a cult at this present time... i was just making a suggestion, trying to keep an open mind... not entirely sure why this is a scum tell either, but maybe b/c it distracts the town from the KNOWN presence of Mafia?
Vesuvan wrote:insinuating the presence of a cult without sufficient evidence
That's pretty much why it's scummy to put the idea of a cult forward and to use that supposition that a cult exists to put suspicion on a player who is - almost by definition - innocent unless another player (Blackberry) is innocent.
i would like to know how you got this one... the only post i made concerning the masons was as follows:Vesuvan wrote:and calling for a distrust of Masons.
even w/o knowing my true intentions behind this post, i would interpret this as questioning why we should assume there is a SK in the mason group, while again, trying to keep an open mind...this is of course exactly what i had in mind when i wrote this...LyingBrian wrote:@Blackberry:
why does the fact that we had a Gunsmith mean that one of the masons is a SK? i don't follow...
FOS: PookyTheMagicalBear, inHimshallibe
the reason i only FOS'd Pooky & inHim is b/c i think Vesuvan is just trying to find scum, while Pooky & inHim jumped on the bandwagon as soon as Vesuvan posted! (almost w/in 1 hour!)
I actually meant to type "people who are most likely town" (which should have really been "most likely to be town unless a different player is found to be non-town") and realised the error on re-reading. I'm referring to Fritzler there.
Also, I'm really not sold on the lynch on Pooky given the info presented thus-far. He wouldn't even be in my top 3 candidates today (which are LyringBrian, TSAGod and Zu_Faul). The way that bandwagon has developed may be useful for finding scum if he turns up innocent, but IMO that's not worth it given that we have much better options available.
As far as Pooky's tells go, if he's scum then he's learned to drop one of his more notable tells since I last played in a game where he was scum. I was certain enough that he wasn't scum to FOS him as though I had caught him in a trap of some relevance (i.e. Pooky acting like a sheep is most certainly not a scum tell, but it would be "interesting" if someone tried to lynch him on that)-

If you guys are honestly too lazy to try to look for scum and want to randomly bandwagon away on day2, then I have absolutely nothing to say to you on this issue.
Just look at the speed of the development of this bandwagon and then take a look at its reasoning or complete lack there of!
I'm trying to play Mafia, I don't know what game you guys are trying to play.-

Analysis of the Bandwagon:
This is where it starts, a basically indefensible attack on Pooky that has no substantial evidence behind it at all. Why were you voting elsewhere if you spotted a "tell" on Pooky?bj wrote:unvote, vote Pooky
He has a scum tell, and I have seen it.....

HUGE FOS on LB.
You sure must love those random bandwagons, heck why play mafia at all? let's just roll a dice at the beginning of every day and lynch the punk that comes up!LB wrote:this game is stagnating, so...

anybody ever hear of a random D2 bandwagon?
another crap reason, second most likely scumbag on my bandwagon.JSexton wrote:What the hell. vote: Pooky. Seems as productive as anything else right now.
So I'm getting rub up by a bunch of sheep and their leader who hasn't even come up with a reason for me being scum but instead is touting a "tell" that I can't defend against or cite game history to rebuff because I don't know what it is!
I'll keep it simple, I'm not scum, BJ's wrong and it's absolutely ludicrious for the town to lynch on such flimsy logic on day 2.-

your defense of him is noted....StevieT92 wrote:BabyJesus: Claim the tell, or we can't lynch him. You cannot just lynch someone on 'I am saying we should lynch him, but I can't tell you why'
suffice to say I have seen something from pooky that leads me to be 80% certain he is scum. Am I 100%? no. I'm not trying to hide a cop investigation here, I'm just saying from playing several games with pooky, I'm willing to bet this game he is scum.:coo:

I've thought all game long I've seen your tell. Its just a question of how much I want to pursue it. I saw it early on, and if you review my posts, I have expressed suspicion of you all game long.PookyTheMagicalBear wrote:Analysis of the Bandwagon:

i agree w/ BabyJesus that he should not reveal the "tell"... if it truly is that...
in poker if you catch somebody's tell, you would NEVER reveal it to them, b/c you can always use that tell to know what they're thinking the next time... (unless you're Matt Damon in "Rounders")...
if it truly is subconsious, then maybe PookyTheMagicalBear should review this game & others he was scum in to see if he can detect it...-

I'm not going to vote for Pooky unless someone tells my why I should.
I disagree. Poker is about money. You are trying to beat your opponents. Mafia is about having fun. If Pooky is making the same mistake every time he is scum, we should use that, but we should also let him know, so that he doesn't keep making it.LyingBrian wrote:i agree w/ BabyJesus that he should not reveal the "tell"... if it truly is that...

You haven't convinced me that he is scum. I'm not going to lynch someone just because you claim to have seen a tell. That may be good enough for some people, but unless you give me more, I'm not buying it. I'll vote for him if I you tell me what the tell is so that I can evaluate it for myself, or if I see signs of his scummyness. I'm not going to accept your tell on blind faith.-

Remember what you like. From what I have seen, LB is far more suspcious than Pooky. He has now conveniently jumped on to Pooky's wagon, and is encouraging it quite strongly. Could this possibly be so that he doesn't get lynched? I think that your tell on Pooky might be valid, but I'm not willing to switch from someone who I'm very suspicious of onto someone who I only have your claimed tell on. That isn't enough evidence for me.
