This may take me a bit more time to put together someting coherent. The game mechanics have made it a bit difficult for me to analyse after the first read. It's also really late at night and I probably won't be able to post tomorrow. I'm going to free flow, so I apologise in advance for my rambling.
A couple of comments I wanted to get out there.
I think the tribune power is quite overrated at this point in the game. This early, both the tribune and the consuls are not likely to stray far from the consensus of the town without calling much suspicion on themselves. Ergo the scum would not find it necessary or even desirable to have scum elected as tribunes.
I would really appreciate it if people were very clear when voting for tribune. It is a bit hard to remember what phase we were in at the time when doing a reread and I certainly don't want to mix up those two votes.
Zindaras - where did you get your basis for the statistical analysis. I haven't seen that we know there are 5 scum in the game. Was that just a possible secenario? Andrew at least noted that he was making estimates with his statistics.
I don't like the fact that Panzerjäger claimed, but I'm pretty certain that he's town because of it. I can't imagine that scum would do such a strange thing unless they have some kind of special power that appears in day three or something. Whoa! I really don't like how he claimed Cato after being told not to disclose more.
I don't get the tribune vote for battle mage by N9V. Pity vote?
Primate takes a bit of a mentoring role with Panzerjäger. I don't disagree, but I wanted to note it.
Don't like AndrewS pseudo-claim of nameless power roll and minor follow-on fishing. Could be breadcrumbing. The list of FOSes is also quite useless. At that point in the game, there are few if any real reasons to vote someone else.
MoS makes a very good point. Early in the game, scum are very unlikely to go against the town's wishes in vetoing someone, so it's certainly better to pick an experienced player. That way if they're scum, they're more likely to act in favor of the town than someone who is inexperienced but town.
In regards to Raffles' assertion that we should be taking more time to determine the tribune, I feel that to be false. We have a finite amount of time to find scum - four weeks, so more discussion to that point is better. Analysing the "pro-town votes" will be more usefull later in the games when the tribune's role has more power.
Battle Mage makes the same useless FOSes as Andrew did earlier. I've lost count, but I think that BM has determined that at least half of the players in this game are scum.
AndrewS wrote:MoS - I nominated you, then Mole - but it turns out that Mole isn't nearly as active as he was back when I was here the first time.
Mole had only posted once all game and that was just a vote.
Ubertimmy is a little suspicious for his day1 playstyle - or rather the fact he didn't disclose it up front.
At the moment, I'm feeling the least good about Livingod. He's contributed absolutely nothing at this point, but he's popped up enough to avoid prods and any real attention. Timmy and Twito seem to have excuses for their lack of activity which is more than I can say about Livingod. Out of the active players, I'm most suspicious of AndrewS.
consuls - is it worthwhile for me to
vote: Livingod
or does it even matter to you that I actually place one?
That's WIFOM - ut est vinum pro mihi
