Wasn't talking as a player. Was speaking as a player. Such an early claim is boring. Plus, he could have claimed anytime before N1.In post 24, McMenno wrote:
why do you think it's strange he claimed? it's a significant negative utility role that can mess with night actionsIn post 22, alban wrote:Just why would Socrates claim is beyond me. A big part of the fun is in not knowing the roles right away.-

Sure. Agreed. My comment was more as a player than as a townie who wants to win at any cost. I wanna have fun. So Socrates could have maybe claimed a lil later in d1.In post 48, PranaDevil wrote:My vote on alban was legit. Didn't like how he tried to make out socrates' reveal was bad. It's a role that severely hinders town, and thus us knowing it's there aids us in the knowledge of what could happen. I think a scum.in that role would be better off keeping quiet and letting confusion reign down. Especially if he was still alive late game and, say, a confirmed cop type was investigating someone and got random blocked. Then town could mislymch because of it.
By announcing it, we're prepared for things, the information helps the town massively, as opposed to if we knew nothing.
2 things surprise me about you, dwlee and others who are voting for me based on my comment:
- how readily you are accepting socrates's claim, and how less inclined you are to question his claim.
- you are unable to explain how my comment is scummy for you to want to vote for me. Socrates might be town, but why is scummy to ask him to withhold role info for a few more calendar days?-

I rather arrive at decisions logically than someone giving their role to me on a platter. He could have done it few pages down the line; was unnecessary for Page 1. Sure this is pro-town, but my contention isn't even regarding that.In post 81, McMenno wrote:alban you said you were playing for fun and not especially to win... well how does socrates outing his role impact your fun?
well. first of all cheerleaders can be both town and mafia. so sure he could be a mafia roleblocker, but that's unlikely. much more likely that he's either a town cheerleader claiming his neg util role (a protown move) or mafia cheerleader claiming for towncred, or not trying to screw himself over during a potential massclaim later down the road. second of all you still haven't explained why he should withhold his roleIn post 50, alban wrote:

not sure if those even exist in this setup? unless you're chuck norris I guessIn post 76, TheRealGin-N-Tonic wrote:Actually screw it! I'm a bulletproof investigative role >_>
About being at L-2,
Instant reaction: ignore. Maybe I'll be lynched. Who cares? Town's loss.
Thought-about reaction: Claim if majority wants that.
Pressure? Nope.
Consideration for town? Yes.
Selfish reasons? Yes. Quite an interesting role which I won't get again and again.-

Prana is a townIn post 106, PranaDevil wrote:
Except it gives the mafia all the information they need, and town simply "these are what have been claimed". Scum then know how to direct their shots for maximum possible benefit. Need to keep the investigative role alive? Block them in some fashion. (Great for casting suspicion on why that role has done no investigating). Know there's a protective role? Get rid of it in some way right out of the gate.In post 105, McMenno wrote:I don't think a massclaim would be a bad idea. but not today
For town, we just get to assume people are a) telling the truth (that was one long list of roles the mod linked us to, it would be really unlucky scum to fake claim from that list only to be caught out), and b) on the side of town in the first place.
For instance, all we "actually" know about the Cheerleader role already given (can't remember the name of the player that claimed it right now) is that he's claimed cheerleader, and there's been no counter claims. Sure it seems town to open claim a negative role early on, but there's a chance it's scum trying to buy town points. In a mass claim however, we'd literally know nothing unless there's a counter claim, and even then, is there any guarentee there aren't two of the same roles in this meaning we could see a counter claim, and lynch two town in succession, really helpful to town there.
There is no town benefit to mass claim, and I'm going to state right here and now, I am not going to be a part of mass claim, it aids scum a hell of a lot more than it aids town at this point in the game.-

Your case on me is increasing in volume every time I post something. Whatever I am saying, you are adding it to your explanation of why I am scum. But when you voted for me, you had absolutely no reason. Now justifying your vote via a post-facto analysis of my posts that came after your vote, is scummy as hell.In post 135, Dwlee99 wrote:He's throwing shade because he isn't pointing out anything actually scummy or scumhunting. Here's the difference.

Instead he has just said 'No, they're posturing' which doesn't explainanything.
In addition, here is his post where he votes me
He calls my arguments juvenile, doesn't say why they are juvenile, and then votes me cause.. why? And if you'll notice he's doing this to the main pushers of his wagon (you and me) to discredit us and alleviate pressure on his slot. That is why it is "throwing shade" as opposed to scumhunting. In post 53, alban wrote:'Like' being the operative word. Conjecture.
I didn't feel any pressure. So there's no question about alleviating it.
Your arguments are quite juvenile.
VOTE: dwlee
But still, let's go through your accusations one by one.
I am not pointing out anything scummy:
If you see, it's still second calendar day and page 8. I am not from the instant-coffee and noodles generation. Moreover, some of us aren't presumptuous. We give people leeway of a few more pages than passing judgements on 2nd page of the game regarding their alignment.
I am throwing shade:
I said what I thought. That post by Prana didn't seem genuine.
I didn't explain my read about Prana's post:
Sometimes thoughts are intangible. Not everything can be expressed or explained from what goes on in your mind when you read something
Your vote on me is coz I don't explain stuff usually, including my vote on you:
Let's see how many on my wagon have given explantions. In post 46, Dwlee99 wrote:VOTE: Alban
I was stretching a bit with mcmenno to get some reactions and reads but what town with two years of experience asks if we are out of rvs.In post 123, TheRealGin-N-Tonic wrote:vote: albanYour vote on me and trying everything to turn the town against me is bloody opportunistic. You still haven't answered about your biased attitude. Why are you not questioning anyone else who voted for me without an explanation (detailed in 154), when that seems to be your grouse against me?

While you are on the backfoot and introspecting, try answering why you are satisfied with no explanations from people on my wagon, while you were pushing me for lack of explanations.-

2) yes, people voted you twice
3) man, doesn't it suck when everyone else is an asshole? have you ever considered the fact that you may be the asshole?
But hypothetically speaking, if the wagon on me is coz I am an asshole, it just shows how common is dumbness, turning your anger into a vote.
There's at least one scum on my wagon, and the idiotic town on that wagon made it especially easy for the scum.
My guess for scum: Not Mafia and Dwlee.-

1. NA.In post 166, PranaDevil wrote:
1 - Everyone on the prior alban wagon, why were you on there. Seriously, when the wagon hit L-1, why were you still on there even when we were about to lynch him?
2 - Everyone NOT on the alban wagon, why were you NOT on there, and why did you not call for the wagon to disband enough to not potentially end the day early?
3 - Why aren't you, personally, contributing more to the game?
4 - Who do you think should be looked at right now, and reasons for it. Minimum of three people so nobody can hide by just saying "alban" or some shite, we know there are multiple scums out there, so look at others regardless of where you are tunnelling.
2. NA.
3. The only event of considerable importance till now was the flash wagon on me. Which resulted in the 5 stages of grief, the last being acceptance. I am getting back to normal now, and reads will follow. But with so many players behaving in a scummy manner, it's a bit tedious. Maybe more clarity will happen after people start replying to your quesitons.
4. Top scum reads:
Dwlee -coz he is seriously tunneled. While that's not scummy in itself, I think he thought my lynch will be easy to maneuver given the quick support he gathered. My reaction as a town is always to start doubting my reads when too many people agree with me in a game like this. Dwlee was absolutely content with the momentum on my wagon. Also, he retracted when PimHel/you started pressurising him. That was scummier than the behaviour during the wagon. Also his reaction ('ascetic role') when I claimed.
Not Mafia -voted me thrice even without unvoting. I think this gave an impression that there are enough people on the wagon to lynch me. It did so to me at least, which is why I claimed.
Bang -Although there are more suspicious players in this game than him, I think he might be lurking.
Jaack's kill should absolve me from the killer's role. He was tunneled about me. All he did was to find out inconsistencies in my posts. Scum!me will not be so bold as to kill him, when all he had done this game was to scum!read me. This may come across as wifom but I am not so bold. As a scum, I am very careful and measured in my behaviour.-
