Can't believe the Mariners are still in the wild card race with all their injuries and the brutal august road schedule. They are showing a lot of resiliance which bodes well for the future. Now if we could just get a decent farm system instead of trading away all our good players.

I'm pretty sure if Bauer gets a no hitter, it would be the first time in the playoffs a player gets 3 HR in a game and another player pitches a no hitter in the same day. Wonder what the record is for 5 innings?

Apparently Ohnti has narrowed it down to Seattle and Oakland. As a Mariner fan this has me excited, Seattle got a lot of exposure in Japan after Ichiro signed and I think they have a leg up.
Oakland is out according to other reports, that just leaves Seattle.

Dee Gordon to the Mariners gives the Mariners two top base stealers in Jerrod Dyson and Gordon, and two .300 calibur hitters in Jean Segura and Gordon. If the Mariners can land Ohtani I think they will have a good shot at the playoffs if they can stay healthy, of course, I thought that last year and that's a big if.

I'm not saying they don't get some short term wins. I'm saying he might not be the best long term investment a la arod. He is injury prone for one thing.

The Yankees overachieved last year IMHO. They still have Boston and Tampa Bay to deal with in their own division and Cleveland, Minnesota, Houston and now the Angels to deal with in other divisions. Seattle possibly as well. I'm not saying Stanton's not a good player but I don't think he's a good long term value for the money.
