So how are you gonna read Alonzo? You're just gonna ignore him when he's scummy?

I'm not the best person to ask, since I have established that I am dumb, but I think it comes down to what roles we have for town. If there is a cop, Alonzo might just be the first investigation target, or if there is a jail keeper, Alonzo might be the first jailed. And, in the situation where we have a tracker, Alonzo could be followed.
Basically, what I am saying is that townies have someone hiding around here who will be able to provide some information beyond just the guessing posts. I don't know what roles those are, of course, or who fills the roles, but we won't just be limited to the posts during the day.

Don't expect to get carried by tricky night actions
or silly gambits. Your job, if town, is to
make that evident in your posting and votes during the day phase
. If scum, your job is to emulate the town doing so.

I didn't ask you. I asked Nauci.
But your answer is flawed.
Let's just say cop investigated Alonzo and he flip town so how is he gonna convince everyone when Alonzo is acting scummy? Only you know this you can't just claim cop just to clear one vanilla.
Don't rely too much on the PRs.
I'm a bit new to the BP claim game, How does it work and is it worth it?
Essentially, it's a claiming strategy that maybe confirms a town on day one.
It's worth it on paper, but not in practice.
Is there ever an actual reason for anyone to claim other than in that strategy?
I would think if you are some sort of unique town role and you are L-1, you might claim, but I am genuinely curious if there is any other time to claim.
Haven't caught up on the latest page yet but I have unique interactions with Cabd because we played in a gigantic 200+ page game before and he was terribly shrewd. We had a lot of interesting chats in the Dead thread and I'm fairly certain he's one of the most experienced but also nicer players on the site.
I'm obviously willing to vote him if he reads as scummy to me but much less willing to make him the random guess first day lynch because I'd feel like we're missing out on a learning opportunity there.
I feel like that question sounds a lot more useful than it is. How the hell am I supposed to know what scum Cabd would do, lol? Besides try to out survive us all.
Is this the Alonzo posting like scum thing you spoke about before?
No, it meant be wary of scum potentially pushing him super easily, and being more discerning about whether he has scum intent or just isn't putting effort into his posts.

Cabd still null for me
I read your initial post as probably just sarcasm. Thanks for probably confirming.
About Brass feeling desperate, I failed pretty badly in my earliest mafia games (elsewhere) due to the fact that I came across as desperate. That being said, I'm not clearing him, desperation doesn't automatically read town either.
In post 63, Nauci wrote:I disliked that he said "he's scum because he voted a town," as if he's obviously town when his alignment is only only clear to him right now.
On my reread, this jumps out at me. If Brass is town, mafia knows his alignment. Slip of the tongue, perhaps?
