I shot Varsoon, because I thought he was a good recruit target. And his fishing for page tops looked like a way to muddle the thread. He openly wanted to get recruited.

How can you be so sure they were only recruiting virgins? We have no evidence to suggest that, unless you know something I don't?

I think we've established from Boon's death that PR != immune to recruitment. Saying "but I'm a pack of dogs" doesn't mean you haven't been recruited at some point.

I think 'virgin' means nothing more than flavour in this game. Unless I get evidence that only human flavoured roles can be recruited, then I'm not going to believe it's true. We've established that 'virgins' != the virgin role card, and that initial flavour message that virgins have a V on their forehead means nothing due to people voting 'V' getting one.

Also, how do we know you NEED to be a 'virgin' to be recruited? Who told us that? The flavour messages. I'm pretty sure we've established that their word isn't law, especially when you consider the above ^^.

I think 'virgin' is nothing more than a simple generalisation of people who can be recruited as mentioned by the flavour messages. I don't think it applies to anyone or any role in the literal sense. So yes, a pack of dogs could have been recruited and that makes sense to me.

Saying you're not recruitable because you're a pack of dogs and hence wouldn't have fallen under the brackets of 'virgin' is a bit of a U-turn in opinion for her is it not?

For the record, I have never thought of myself as recruitable. I have been pretty open about having a killing role, and also the other aspect of my role. I would have thought I would have been a top pick for someone to recruit.

I did originally believe they were mod messages but my opinion has since changed. If you want to how and why my opinion on that changed then all you have to do is iso me as I talk about the messages fairly often with different people. Chickadee’s opinion has somehow changed in just 70 posts and I don’t see how or why her opinion would change in such a short period of time. My conclusion is that she doesn’t truly believe in either opinion and is just saying whatever helps her blend in or what defends her. Imo, that’s more likely to come from scum.

Well, we were all assuming that we wouldn't recruit killing roles until Boonskiies flipped. (Which I did say made no sense, but did anyone listen? NOOOO.)

I think that mutant is right on this. We got the 'information' that only virgins are recruitable from the voice and we have established, that the voice is not infallible. There is nothing in the rules saying that only virgins can be recruited. So it's dangerous to assume that anyone who isn't a virgin gets a free pass.

However, it would be strange flavour wise to say that a pack of dogs can become a groupie. The only question is: do the rules always follow the flavour? I think it's a valid assumption that a pack of dogs can't be a groupie. But keep in mind that it is only an assumption.

Somehow I get the impression, that mutant is actually trying to make sense of the game and to make progress. That doesn't necessarily mean he's neutral. He might as well be cult scum-hunting for members of the other cult. But well, we have to vote someone and I think mutant is a better choice than venmar.

I have the feeling that this might be some kind of reverse LAMIST statement. "Hey, I don't want to be town any more but I totally am! For realz!"

...but then again, scum doesn't gain much from being viewed as town unless they draw a vote on them. So pretending to be town while saying 'but don't vote for me' would be sub-optimal play and if Vecna actually is still neutral, then he would deserve to be voted for for this comment and be stuck with us other boring neutrals forever!
