There is one mechanical reason to want to lynch infected. If I feel like my win chances are low, lynching an infected person means more chance that I get infected in the future.

I think it's more likely he's OG scum. Scum have more to lose than infected and thus more to gain by claiming survivor.

Hmm....that's a pretty decent theory actually. And I believe all of this started D1 when there were no infections yet. I'd have to verify that though.
