Nope! Being town and being right are mutually exclusive.
Hmmm
This invites a question or two. Are you a mistaken town or a right scum? And how much weight your ranking should have for the others?

Hopefully neither and I’m just right town. For the second question, I am obliged to say plenty.

To the point that I am beginning to speculate whether this post was not meant for this game thread in the first place.

Ok, so I had some time to burn so I decided to check Robert's past games. Well, I ended up only checking one game because it was enough. It was his latest game (which was back in 2019 lol) where he was scum. His posts looked like they made sense, and he is a type to utilize scum PT. So, I'm now inclined to think that was a post that was meant to be for scum PT. I really don't think that speculation is a towny speculation anyway.

Silly of you both to think that mental reset is going to happen, when you're going to read the same posts that got you like that in the first place.

@ Robert2424 - Is your mafia partner SirCakez, then? Is what is known as a 'game' truly that simple to solve within the dream?
As smart as you think you are, guessing the duo of a mafia game, isn't unheard of and I've seen it firsthand. I don't know if SirCakez is mafia, but if he is, they are probably thankful I'm not his partner, as I've not been looking at this and responding as I should. This is kinda moot, but since I read everything since my last post, and didn't know Deus was getting replaced, I quoted some stuff.

Is it too early for town player? If yes, everyone will solve it too.
they are talking shit no way they have the game solved already
I think they would do nothing but put it on loudspeaker and be proud. Talking shit just comes with that.
In post 151, Deus Deceptor wrote: Anyway I suspect Robert2424's absence is explainable by the fact that they don't have the heart and commitment to return

Let's just ignore the contingency issues where Gypyx and Political Clout are involved

If SirCakez had a spine they'd answer to the fact that their vote on me is the world's biggest copout, but I guess they're just going to feign being irritated as long as they can get away with pretending a proper game of mafia is a popularity contest and they don't have to have actual reasons to vote people other than 'I don't like them'.
I'm back luckily.

Jeez. Makes me feel old. Back when I was in the Military still apparently since I played in a mafia game. I don't suppose you can tell me what scum PT is? I may of taken a break from Mafia for awhile, but I've played allot and never heard of the term.

A bit of a reset happened and several players got replaced besides a few. so luckily I don't feel too far behind. however.....

Unvote

Vote Political Clout

This is at least a semi serous vote. but its day 1. he could surprise me.

it would be vaguely funny if it was actually cakez and robert

i don't think mafia game tends to be that convenient and also there are a bunch of people i could see being mafia here

pedit: i mean early reads are correct decently often but i still feel strongly it is not particularly wise to declare the game solved at this stage
While i agree with the thought here, we still have to go through the easy solves before we can start thinking about more elaborate stuff right?
I don't really agree, I don't think we need to be going for solves at all. I think early in the game trying to figure out the probability some slots are scum is better than trying to nail the scumteam because the chances of successfully doing the latter are generally really low.

we don't need to go for solves, but it is very fun, and the effort also drives sortable discussion. another benefit is that it kinda helps stave off tunneling by motivating attention to other players even when one has a confident scumread.

i feel like i Should have new things to say but like i don't really lol

I'll be around for a little bit pls feel free to interact with me if ur around

Pedit: I guess I don't find it especially fun. It's true that it's better than nothing but any form of solving drives sortable discussion? And I think there should just never be a scumread on d1 confident enough to not even look at other players unless you are part of an extremely small minority of players who are like amazing as town. Generally at my most confident d1 i might say a flip is a 50/50

that being said, if you find it fun, totally go ahead - I don't want to police how other people play or anything, just as I said originally I think it is likely to backfire to confidently declare the game to be solved

well gotta disagree about that. scum have revealed themselves D1 in all my recent towngames. suppose i'm not sure this is one of them yet but i might even feel inclined to think this way about cakez soon too once the reasoning is written out.

i mean shrug i think in most games town does get eliminated on day 1. i did personally have to transcribe the results of like, hundreds of games! (anyone who hasn't seen the normal archive pls check it out if you care at all. i spent a lot of time on it)
i think scum gets elimmed d1, like, 30% of the time? it's certainly not rare, but not something i would expect to be happening a majority of the time, and in general i do think it's rare that you would see people with read accuracy better than being able to 50/50 scumreads on day 1. i guess there are outliers there

this might be more of a MD discussion than a this game one though

i think cakez probably does have the highest likelihood to be mafia this game so far!

sure. as you probably expect, i'll blame that on shaky townplay of course. have noticed recently a lot of people are really pessimistic about achieving anything on D1, and don't even try, or even deliberately vote/lim slots they don't really scumread for info or whatever. my stance is that this is the main factor behind the current meta's weak D1 performance.

belaboring the point...

the deus wagon is a good example of what i mean. most voters hardly tried to sort the slot but apparently sincerely hoped the wagon would succeed. imo this is why this sort of thing is worth discussing here a little. game-throwy crap can happen even when people are capable of developing reads, and discussion of reads alone is insufficient to address these patterns.

stuff like the deus push become less common as the game goes on. think we can at least agree that this is a factor that gets less influential as days pile up, even id we disagree that it is

Yeah sure

I do think stuff like policy eliminations on day 1 are rare but shrug. If your message is "vote the person most likely to be mafia" that is a message I would generally support
