I have a pretty big apt with a fouton, a couch and a couple of big rooms where people could set up shop with blankets/sleeping bags. I know Cabd has said he can host 2. Llamarble has expressed before that he is also able to host some number of people. (I believe his apt is pretty large as well.)

Cabd was kicking around the idea of renting out a hotel meeting room for the daytime and then having people who want to stay in that hotel can do that as well. I'm not wild about the hotel idea for a couple of reasons, but it has been put forward as an option if people prefer it.

I think cabd was mainly thinking that because his apt, while dope, is not big enough for more than like 6 people to congregate comfortably. My apt, on the other hand, is fine for that size I think.

Are you flying into Ohare or Midway?

If you are able to get to dallas/ft worth you could fly here for like 100$ round trip on spirit. Looks like it would be a little bit more expensive from Houston. Otherwise check southwest, which flies into midway.

Crisp is great drunk food. My fave wing place in the city sober or drunk. South Andersonville also has Hot "G" Dog, which is the spiritual sequel to Hot Doug's, and it's also next door to a bathhouse, leather store, and the only Chicago dispensary. No wait, that doesn't sound like Andersonville at all.

I imagine people will want to do some amount of daytime exploring themselves and they'll have diverse interests about what they want to do or so. I'd like us all to do 1-2 touristy things together and probably try to go out to eat a couple of times. (iirc quadz and singer often provided a dinner at their place a couple nights so that the more budget conscious didnt have to eat out every night. I think we'll probably do that too, but I also want to get a list of restaurants together that people are interested in because chicago has such great food.

Yeah, singer thats a great suggestion. If we can find a place that's just huge where it would be like 40-50 a person total that would be great. I'd also be willing to chip in on the costs myself (and I think cabd and PA and llamarble would as well.)

It's looking like the air BNB space would end up being prohibitively expensive. Like 100-150 a night per guest. We're not about that life.

I can sleep 2(3 if one of the two is a couple) on a couch and futon bed, and I also have ample floor space for people to sleeping bag/air mattress it up which I think is pretty similar to how other meets have done it.

From what I've heard, the shedd aquarium is pretty incredible. I've never been, but that's mainly because you never end up doing touristy things in your own city. Everyone I know who has been has said it's great though.

My concern is also that I'm moving at the end of the month so my roommates might not be particularly thrilled with tons of people in the house. I'd much rather have it all centralized too. We'll see. I'm making enough money to afford it right now but my job is ending and I'm in the middle of getting a new one. Ok, it looks like we're going to be reserving the AirBnB by the end of the week for friday through monday (out at 12pm)

So it should be noted that if you're arriving before or after that you should contact one of the hosts about staying with them instead.

It's going to run about 2200 for the house, which means I am going to ask for a suggested donation of 90$ for those attending the meet. If you can't pay that amount, don't worry about it. Pay what you are comfortable paying, even if that means paying nothing. If you are willing and able to pay more, however, to subsidize those who are in situations where 80$ is a lot of money for them, that would be welcomed as well. I'll have a jar out for donations at the venue.

on the flipside, Ohare is a spirit hub, so if you're looking for massive discount airline service, you should fly them.

But keep in mind that they will charge you for literally everything extra you might want. If you fly with just a small backpack like I did for my trip to vegas you can get pretty absurd prices (I got a round trip to vegas for like 110) but don't use this option if you need to have bags etc. At that point you might as well just fly soputhwest.
