The only way we lose by doing nothing is if scum team has two and an extra kill. Grapes is basically confscum now. The only question is his partner.
Random ... it's up to you whether to bubble. If you do and scum can kill you plus another, I believe we lose. Choose wisely. I am sorry it comes down to you... thought we had this worked out 100%.
Sorry guys.

Actually if you bubble not-scum and get killed and that means the bubbled person dies, then if you bubble wrongly and scum have 2 and kill, we lose (6 minus 2 (you and whom you bubble) = 4 and if 2 scum, it's GG).

After reviewing the circumstances regarding grapes' absence, I have made the following decisions:
There will be no extension to the deadline beyond what was already offered.
grapes will be issued a prod and reminder to stay active.
All players will be encouraged to be active as well.
I understand that, at this point in a game, it can be hard to keep up or post regularly.
However, I still urge everyone to post within the regular expectations.
I will not be forgiving on this front--your own failure to engage with the game is a burden that you will have to bear.
Extensions will be granted on the basis of moderator absence/issues and when force replacements need to be found.
At this point in time, grapes will not be force-replaced from the game; things will continue on their regular schedule.
As always, thank you for bearing with me through these hard times.
Love,
Varsoon-

For the next several hours, Pearl worked restlessly to locate the leader of Homeworld's Ruby Squad. Peridot's old pod was still hooked into the teleporter system and it wasn't long until Pearl discovered a startling array of teleporters were not just active--but were currently in use! Pearl ran her fingers over the digital readouts, eyes growing wide as she realized that all of these teleporters were ferrying their users to a singular place; Watermelon Island.
Spear in hand, Pearl took a sharp breath and stepped onto the telepad within the temple. Familiar light enveloped her. As the bright curtain trailed away to the familiar landscape of Watermelon Island, Pearl gasped. The entire place was packed thick with forced-fusion gem monsters. Even more startling was the fact that they didn't attack Pearl--they simply shambled in unison towards the shore. More arrived on the telepad behind Pearl, stepping around her as they ushered forth to their enigmatic destination.
Following the pack with caution in her step, Pearl soon came to a large outcropping of rocks, where she found not one but two gems that she hadn't expected to see--the leader of the Homeworld Rubies and Lapis Lazuli.
The Ruby barked at Lapis, "That useless Sapphire wouldn't help me and look at her now!" She held up Sapphire's gem, cracked and clutched tight in her hand. "I know your powers. I also know that Jasper is still out there--you're going to find her for me."
Lapis, frustrated, looked as if she were to resist, but was held tight in the binding grasp of the forced-fusion monsters that seemed to be at the Ruby's beck and call. With a sigh, she dropped to her knees and approached the waterfront. Feet in the water, Lapis muttered softly, "It's true..."
The Ruby's eyes lit up. "...and?"
"...that I have been on this planet much longer than you," Lapis continued, turning to notice Pearl in the crowd, "I've grown familiar with its oceans. Seventy percent of this rock is covered in water. No one can hide from me."
At this, Lapis turned darkly to her tormenter, her would-be Homeworld Jailer, voice cracking into a furious roar, "And that includes you!"
With that, the tide soared high above the entire island, crashing down and causing many of the fusion-monsters to lose their forms from the sheer force of the wave. As the tsunami raged, Lapis conjured a mad tempest and continued forward, water ebbing around her. "This is my home now! I won't let you or anyone else take it way from me! I'll sink this entirely island and ensure that Homeworld never succeeds in another one of their twisted missions again!"
What happened next was a frenzy of creatures leaping about, impaled by spears of water. Some attempted to flee, including Pearl, only to be washed about in the swiftly moving current. Even Ruby, who tried to stand her ground, was taken by the storm. Soon, it all died down, leaving no trace of Watermelon Island save bubbles and froth marking its descent into the ocean.
The Climax Event "I CAN'T GET DISTRACTED, I'VE GOT TO HOLD US DOWN WITH THE WEIGHT OF YOUR PLANET'S OCEAN!" has resolved with the following Effect:
Grapes and Almost50 have been removed from the game for the duration of Episode 11.
Randomidget has been killed. He was Pearl, aligned withThe Crystal Gems.

ALL MEMBERS OF THE FACTION 'THE CRYSTAL GEMS' HAVE BEEN ELIMINATED.

In Beach City, lights were left on for a friend who never came. At a lonely table set for two, a woman sighs and looks to the window, her eyes cast to the sea. Something about its stillness fills her with a sensation that has her clutching at her chest and leaving the room.
That night, everything is still. Painfully so. No one walks the streets. One by one, lights are turned off and the city goes to sleep. The last house to dim its lights is the one that belongs to the lonely old woman.
When the sun rises, hers is the first house to open its doors, the first with a pie in the windowsill and a place made at the table for a visitor long overdue.
Episode 11's Exposition begins with the Exposition Event, "WELL, WHATEVER YOU ARE, DON'T BE A STRANGER," with the following effects:
For the duration of Episode 11, Randomidget and Shiro are considered to be allied, separate from and alongside any other alliance they are both in otherwise. This alliance will only be functional so long as both players are living members of the game.
Randomidget and Shiro may not negatively affect each other during this Episode.
The Stress has been reduced by the number of times that these two players have allied before--in this case; by 1.
The current Stress is +3:

Actually, the answer might just be in here. When the Crystal Gems commuted, they weren't removed from the playerlist.
I need to remember if Skybird was removed from the playerlist--if she wasn't, then the fact that grapes and Almost50 were removed would heavily indicate that they count as dead.My academy.

Of course, Reasonably Rational's smart enough to know exactly why I'm asking the questions I am, here.
Even though I'm getting more and more certain of the answer.
I'll wait for V to respond to make sure.
If he wants to be stubborn/inconsistent, I'll try to find a way to get a wording where he actually will answer, because there should be one and this is important.
But just for those following along, while unfortunately thanks to that dick move the gems can't win the game anymore...the town may have been handed the victory on a silver platter. My academy.

So I will be voting rr

And that's the answer we expected. So the game is now in your hands mastin. Some thoughts:
1.) If we get it wrong the game could simply end with a loss. I'll just ask the question publicly since it occurred to me:
@Mod:If an Earth aligned player is lynched in the pool today leaving it at one scum and one !scum, would the scum win condition trigger, since A50 and Grapes are removed from the game for the day?[/b]
2.) At first I assumed that with we three, Shiro has to be scum, but then another question occurred to me:
@mod:Is itpossiblefor all threats/scum to be temporarily removed from the game and the game still continues?[/b]
The answer to the first question is important for obvious reasons. The answer to the second question might be the more important one.
In any case, I do not envy your position. It's where we were in SU1, and we screwed it up. I don't see a lot of benefit in arguing in circles with you. I'll ask you to simply consider two pieces of evidence when you decide the game, because at the end of the day they speak directly to how you read ME, and ultimately we win or lose based upon whether or not you get it right.
First, I submit that our plan to ensure the game win was sound, given what we knew at the time. Varsoon's answers today are slightly off from what MoI told us, but he may come and answer my 2nd question in a way that confirms what MoI said, in which case the plan was 100% solid, and you would have ensured we ate rope yesterday, if only out of paranoia.
Second, I have always respected you far too much to have left you alive like this if I were scum. You being alive is basically the result of someone assuming you will just blindly lynch us based upon your posts the last few days. If you want to see specifically exactly how much I fear you when I'm scum, go back to SMITE and read the scum PT and read my reasoning for killing you, even though I was informed of what you were doing and you were a day or two (at least) away from your goo spreading finding any of us. I realize the sample size is small, but the sentiment is dead on. If I'm scum and I know you aren't scum, you are going to die long before you can be a problem for me.
Between those things, I think it should be clear that we are indeed town. In SU1, it should have been clear to Cerb and I that SCTH was town, and we screwed that up and lost the game. I'm not a big fan of the whole "X happened in Y game so Z now" thing, but it's a pretty strange coincidence that you're now in our shoes in the sequel. From experience I know you will think yourself in circles. All I can say now is good luck and I hope you get it right.
I'm going to hold off on putting down a vote because Varsoon could answer my questions in a way that changes the equation. If; however, Grapes and A50 being removed from the game means there must be a scum in game, as MoI told us Varsoon told him, then for us the math is obvious, as you already pointed out.

Well shit.
That actually complicates things.
I was hoping that it counted as being dead.
Regardless, while I'm like 90% sure that 'counting as commuting' therefore means that there's still gonna be town alive no matter what, instead of having one or two names to analyze, I have four.
Why four, you ask?
Because if there's two scum, it could be any combination of the players. Literally any combination.
If the scumteam is Almost50 and grapes, us lynching today loses the game.
If the scumteam is Shiro and grapes, or Shiro and Almost50, then us no-lynching, combined with Shiro nightkilling me, loses us the game.
If the scumteam is RR and grapes, or RR and Almost50, then us no-lynching, combined with RR nightkilling me, loses us the game.
If we mislynch today in a two-man scumteam, we lose the game.
And if we no-lynch, we lose to a two-man team unless it's grapes-Almost50.
I thought randomidget cleared this with grapes before-hand, and I thought I was explicit to not release grapes unless grapes specifically said that the event counted as dead.
Now!
The math changes if there's only one scum left alive.
If there's only one scum left alive, the possible scum are Reasonably Rational and Almost50. In that case, we'd lynch RR, there'd be no nightkill, and tomorrow we'd lynch Almost50.
And therein lies the dilemma. Two scum alive, I'd actually put forth the argument Reasonably Rational would be town at this point. Shiro's posting has been pretty scumfucktastic, and feels like scum who knows they've been cleared and have an easy mislynch on hand. But Almost50 remains a scum candidate even then.
One scum alive, and the only possibilities are Reasonably Rational and Almost50. We can't lynch Almost50, but we can lynch RR now and lynch Almost50 when he returns to the game. RR suggested some sketchy shit, including the idea of not bubbling last night. (If randomidget had bubbled Almost50 or RR, they'd be cleared of being solo-scum. There'd be the risk of a Shiro-grapes scumteam winning, but in any other scumteam, the scum would be restricted.)
Absolutely promise that I'm going to mull things over. This was a bit of a worst-case scenario on my part. Having grapes's action count as a commute when triggered was something I accounted for...IF he used it yesterday. IF he used it yesterday, then it wouldn't matter. I had a plan built around it. Having it count as a commute when triggered TODAY, on the other hand, not so much. It needed to count as being dead.My academy.

Okay, so I laid out my full thought process to the dead thread, but basically,
We've got this issue here, of Shiro vs. RR, with a darkhorse candidate of a no-lynch.
...But:
I think framing this as Shiro vs. RR vs. No-lynch is a mistake.
Instead, I'm thinking of framing this as what they represent.
A no-lynch represents leaving the game to chance: an utter cast of the dice. It is random, and tells us almost nothing.
If there are two scum alive including one of Shiro/RR, we lose.
If there is only one scum, then nobody dies. (Shiro/grapes can't be solo-scum. Almost50 is indisposed. RR's not stupid enough to kill when it'd make them confscum.)
If there are two scum and they are grapes/Almost50, then nobody dies.
As a result, we either lose...or we survive, and then win the game. We can confirm the scumteam's not grapes/Almost50 by lynching Almost50. (Almost50 flipping scum either ends the game or heavily incriminates grapes.) Shiro/grapes cannot be solo scum, and Shiro/grapes cannot be the scumteam because Shiro/grapes had the chance to win by killing me at night. So that would mean in 3p lylo, we'd lynch Reasonably Rational.
But inherent in this option is trusting that there isn't a 2-man scumteam, or if there is, that it's grapes/Almost50. (It also assumes that scum can't win by killing me and endgaming Shiro--I don't think they can, but Varsoon may inform me otherwise.)
A lynch on Shiro represents the "safe" path: the least amount of gain, for the least amount of reward. Again assuming scum can't win by endgaming me upon the lynch (and again, I don't think they can, but Varsoon may inform me otherwise), then lynching Shiro has the following effects.
Reasonably Rational is incredibly unlikely at this stage to be on a two-man scumteam. So they are incredibly unlikely to be able to endgame us.
So, if Shiro is scum, it removes scum and indicates that one of grapes/Almost50 is scum. (Likely grapes.)
If Shiro is town, then we know there's only one scum. I live to see tomorrow (RR cannot kill me because grapes is cleared and Almost50 being commuted is indisposed), and we've got a 50/50 between Almost50 and Reasonably Rational, rather than a 50/50 between Shiro and RR.
The risk in this is, of course: we instantly lose to a grapes/Almost50 scumteam. The fact that we still have an instant-loss path on the "safe" route might make you wonder what exactly about it is actually safe, and that's mainly that the assumptions made here are slightly more likely than the assumptions made on the cast-the-die no-lynch path: it is significantly more likely that RR is not on a two-man scumteam. It is slightly more likely that grapes-Almost50 is not our scumteam than it is Shiro/grapes is not our scumteam. So in comparison, a Shiro lynch is safer than a no-lynch. But it also gives far less benefit. It tells us Shiro is town. It tells us grapes is town. It doesn't resolve the age-old debate between Almost50 and Reasonably Rational. The debate we've had for three fucking day phases.
What, then, does the Reasonably Rational lynch represent?
High-risk, high-reward.
If there is ANY two-man scumteam, realistically speaking, by lynching RR, we lose. (Because realistically speaking, RR is the least-likely playerslot to be on a two-man scumteam.) This is the risk.
The reward is that there are only two possible one-man scumteams: Reasonably Rational, and Almost50. If there's only one scum in the game, we can lynch Reasonably Rational. If RR is scum, we win the game. If RR is town, then Almost50 is scum. We lynch him tomorrow, and we win the game. So, with only one scum in the game, we have an autowin.
This is the reward.
So, between casting the dice, taking the safe option, or taking the riskier option, which do I favor?
Right now, push come to shove, I'd take the risk and lynch Reasonably Rational. (ESPECIALLY if V tells me that, in actuality, the scum CAN endgame us with grapes/Almost50 out of the game even though that'd be utter bullshit.)
But that's right now, prior to my research.
I intend to take as much time as humanly possible running the risk-reward analysis, and asking if it's worth it. I intend to do my research, thoroughly. I intend for both of you to be speaking the whole fucking time, and Shiro, yes I will lynch you if I for so much as one MOMENT sense complacency from you. If I so much as for a SECOND think you're lurking it out, just waiting for me to cast a vote for Reasonably Rational, let me make it abundantly clear to you: I will do the opposite and vote you.
I don't need to tell RR to contribute. Even if I was leaning towards voting you, Shiro, I know RR's personality would, regardless of their alignment, be such that they would be posting me and efforting.
I know that, regardless of your personality, you will lurk.
But make no mistake, here, Shiro--if push comes to shove, and I get the choice between handing victory to a lurksack who has done fuckall the whole game, or handing victory to Reasonably Rational, who do you think I'll be comfortable losing to? Yeah. I'll vote you over RR if I can't make a decision. If it's 50/50 split, instead of going off of the gamestate. Instead of going off of reasons, off of logic, off of any semblance of actual gameplay. I'll reward the side who deserves it more. And that side? Most definitely not yours.
So!
This whole time.
I will be doing research. Some I'll make public. Some will be private. I will ask questions of you both. I expect you to be efforting the whole time: explaining why you are town and why they are scum. And working with me. Answering my prompts. Giving your perspective on matters. Giving your viewpoint. Giving your feedback. Saying what you think. Arguing your agenda.
If you can't do that, Shiro, replace out and let a player who can come in. Yeah, they'd have 500 pages to read. But I'm dead serious here.
While I think the riskier/greater reward play is, overall, the right play as of this moment: that can and WILL change if you don't give me your 100% here and give everything you've got to this game. So regardless of your alignment, I'm expecting you to actually step up and play. You don't, you lose. Simple. as. that.My academy.

Well, I can't make any baseless promises. Will I try to participate and answer your questions to the best of my abilities? Sure but re-reading and making analysis is something I can't promise.
As for rr saying why he would leave you alive, simple really. There was the risk of random bubbling him tonight. If that was to happen it was game over. A factor he had no control over. While killing him and trying to convince you to lynch me is something he has a say over and cause of my lackluster play a good chance of achieving. To me:

If you at any point wish for me to replace however I will flatly tell you no. Lynch me if you wish. I dislike replacing unless it is for a truly serious rl reason.
I have only replaced out once and that because I was in the hospital. To me:

Some removal effects function more similarly to a 'commute'--for instance, when the Crystal Gems were all temporarily removed via the Event 'BACK TO THE MOON,' their faction was not eliminated. Many other removal effects do count players as dead as far as win condition.
