Because by voting the mod you're a) not helping the game, and b) Not making a commitment that could put you under suspicion. It's a way of doing something while doing nothing.

Doing nothing doesn't further scum or a third-parties win-con. It's also NAI. Both need to appear town and help mislynch town. I'd also argue voting for the mod puts you under a ton of suspicion.

My issue with Croc is not that her reasoning is bad, is that its scummy. I know town can push things that are ultimately NAI. However she seems to be exaggerating the importance of such a vote. Whether its because of her definition of RVS or not, it's hard to believe she thinks something can be gained by scum or a third-party voting the mod. I don't see how even lynch bait or a new player can hold those views and with her unable to explain how doing nothing wins games so far, I'm incline to believe she's just bullshitting and trying to hold on to this as long as she can to not actually game solve.

Now we have this game. Some scum reads on her have expressed and I, me, personally don't find these reasons particularly indicative of her alignment. I notice that what has been expressed seems to be gradually getting louder with the same reasons that I do not again, find to be alignment indicative. My thing is this, Eddie has attempted to keep the game from getting stagnant at certain points. He didn't need to keep up appearances anymore than the next player or help try to generate discussion at the times he did. I find Sacrab and Una's earlier play more pro-scum, as scum generally excel and are able to help achieve their win-con significantly in that kind of space.
