What I can tell you; is that I have never randed anything but town in any game including this one.

But yeah, I do tend to be awkward on d1; in pretty much every game I’ve ever played - not just Mafia games either, esp. if I don’t really know the players.

It’s just really upsetting that my only completed game on this site was a complete bust and I’m getting mislynched on d1.

I went to sleep last night thinking the votes on me were a joke and you guys realized; I was on the level but obv. i was very wrong about that.

The absolute worst part of this; is this is a maj lynch. If this was a deadline lynch; which should be the case on d1; I’d actually have a chance to show you guys that you’re making a mistake but with a maj; I’m not going to get that chance, which majorly sucks.

What baffles me, is why are you guys so eager to risk a mislynch? You want to quick hammered me; without even looking at any other viable candidates. Why would you be so reckless? Have you seriously looked at anyone other than me, because I promise you, I am teliling you the truth. This couldn’t happen to me on MU, because they rarely have maj lynches on d1 over there and by the deadline; you guys would likely realize that you’re making a mistake, but you aren’t willing to take the time to find that out. * shrug*

This game has just barely started and not everyone has even posted yet. How can you be so sure that scum hasn’t been lurking? If you insist on mislynching me; is it really that unreasonable to you people that you do it closer to the deadline; so you can be a lot more certain that you aren’t making a mistake? Why don’t you want to wait for everyone - if not the majority of posters; so you can get a much clearer idea. of who is likely scum in this game and who isn’t. I’m not but you don’t even want to give yourself a chance to really find out who is. By rushing this lynch, town basically cheats itself from possibly acquiring valuable info; that can help you d2 and later.

By mislynching me via a quickhammer; you will learn nothing but that I flipped v. If you give yourself time to read other people’s posts; then you will be able to make a more useful and INFORMED choice and will be far less likely to mislynch.

I’m not saying this, just because I’m the lead wagon; I’d say the exact same thing regardless who was, because I’ve seen too many mislynches on d1 in general but with a maj; you guys have to realize that you’re turbo jumping the odds of that.

No, I don’t. Why? Because on MU; I’m generally viewed as a “wolf magnet”. Wolves love to target me, because they know that I get better as the game goes on and am pretty good at outting them. Unfortunately for me, I usually suck early game; so I suppose that my very first mislynch would of course happen on d1, in a maj, and on a site that I’m not that familar with and don’t know too many of you.

I wish RC was in this game, because he would set you guys straight. In one of my games on MU; he knew before anyone else that I was hardtown. Unfortunately, no one believed him and I was wagoned every single day I was in that game at one point or another. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for him to play this game, because he, more than anyone else on this site knows my meta.

Since you seem to be the only one here; I’m pleading with you to unvote me; to prevent at least one wolf from quickhammering a mislynch. That of course is assuming that they are already not on my wagon and given my meta; seems highly likely.
It could still happen but at least I’d be at L-3 then and quickhammering a mislynch would be far less likely.

Otherwise, there really isn’t much left I can do at this point.

The fact is that, no mater who the wagon is on; it is far too soon to be sure and I don’t understand why no one else seems concerned at the speed of this wagon. Anytime wagons form this quickly; town should def. be suspecting heavy wolf involvement. It’s always in scum’s interest to quickhammer, but it is rarely in town’s; so I am honestly baffled by this.

Why is town unnecessarily risking this prematurely; when they don’t need to rush this? If I am unable to stop myself from being mislynched; I hope town will learn from my flip and not repeat this mistake throughout the game, or guarandamnteed, you will be handing scum an easy victory.

I really wish that I never signed up for this game. It really sounded like a lot of fun but due to people being over- eager to maj lynch me in under24 hrs.; I am def. regretting this decision.

I'm a player who very rarely is quick to do anything, and more rare still would I exude this level of confidence—enough to place someone at L-1 one page 3.

What chances would you need that you haven't taken already? On page three I have seen an appeal to a couple things: 1) things beyond the scope of most of this game's players' experiences; namely, an appeal to meta on MU that none of us know suggesting that you're a scum magnet. Your wagon voters are voting you for reasons unrelated to that nor should you expect that your experiences on another site would translate here. 2) appealing to our general sense of gameplay. Don't quicklynch, Let lurkers post, Make informed decisions etc. Sure that's fine to say but we're all aware of the basic tenets of how to play mafia... well I assume most of us I can't vouch for everyone here, but it amounts to generalities and not specifics. For example you said "why are you guys so reckless?" "Have you looked at anyone other than me?" well there's your chance to name names if you feel that strongly. To be honest I'm not sure what I would expect you to say, and certainly think there's precious little to form reads in 2 pages, but the approach you took here isn't it.

As you improve and play more you'll develope a way you play as different alignments. Its a way you feel comfortable and is always slightly changing.

Will that change the horrible way I play on d1; in pretty much every game I’ve ever been in? I do really well later in a game, but I still haven’t figured out how to beat the d1 (and sometimes but less likely d2) curse.

There's nothing to gain and yet nothing to lose really from rushing. The stigma is related to people that vote fast / quick hammer without solid reasons for doing so.

If you weren't expecting that fact to carry some weight you wouldn't have brought it up. You are obviously appealing to our sympathies to halt the lynch as best you can.

My advice: Don't take lynches personally, or invest too much emotion in them. I mean we all do to an extent but it's best to moderate our expectations of ourselves and the players at large. Just learn from this one.

In general, I’d definitely say yes or really bad ones. I was recently in a game where a player (who eventually flipped scum) invoked multiball.

So yeah, the thought process behind giving a read - accurate or not, is often key to descerning alignment.

On the balance or probabilities a random player you have an exchange with is more likely to be town than scum. You're acting like everyone is going after you. We are not all scum hun.

You seem to have ignored my question as to WHY scum are more likely to vote with no reasoning. Spoiler: that is a bottom tier excuse for a scumtell. If that's your earnst attempt at scumhunting and you're alive late game you'll lose this for town.

Okay, why? Because they’re not genuinely interested in solving but they want you to think they are; so they are far less likely to have a valid reason for their reads than town would. If they can get away without giving ANY reason at all for their reads; so much the better. One of the best scumtells tells is fakeness; just like genuineness is often a really good towntell.

With scum, it’s the sense of something not adding up.

And btw, you’d be very wrong about that; re: my “ losing it for town”. I greatly improve as the game progresses and on MU; I nailed the last scum in 3 out of 4 games. I inderstand why you or anyone here would find that difficult to believe. My strength is in late game but as everyone has observed; I majorily suck early game. I’m not really sure why that is but it has been more or less a consistent pattern in my gameplay.

There's any number of reasons why I'd want to hide my reasons! I'm surprised as a graduate of MU you're not able to come up with any. I've been told so often how much better mafia play is over there. This isn't a newbie game tho so I'll leave that particular theory lesson for you to chew on.

This game has already become annoying AF. I'll just preface with that. Moving on... a couple things I've noticed:

1. Nancy freaking out over RVS votes is suspect, yet reads both ways as just being new to mafia, especially on MS. New town or new scum, idk yet, but their entire post count has been defensive AtE, all about THEM (their meta, their emotional instability, claiming to want to self hammer, an appeal to the mod, appeals to other players, regret over joining, etc), and with zero constructive content. Now I understand the emotion part, because I too can get pissed off when railroaded early, but I also assume that scrum are on my wagon when it happens. Even if im THAT emotionally compromised, I still scum hunt as best as I can. I attack back to try to secure future scum lynches after I flip, rather than just whining about it. It at least gives some sort of town benefit, assuming I am town when it happens. ND did not do this until basically coached into it by others. It pings of scum. The fact that the wagon disappeared so quickly is also a ping, yet the reasoning is legitimate.

This post pings me to high heaven. Standing on the fence, while subtly both approving and disapproving of the ND lynch is scummy. Regardless of what ND flips, this post is maybe the scummiest in the game so far imo. I hate fence sitters for multiple reasons, but mostly because its scum play 101.

3. Both wagons on ND and Evee look too easy, but I'd i have to pick, Evee would get my vote. ND screams lynchbait VI if town, and the weakest link if scum. I'm fine with the wagon moving, but Evee gaining traction from nearly everyone worries me too. That said, the players who pushed and/or wanted to keep pushing ND (like papa zito) are ignoring the evee wagon. Why? Even if they don't see any scum tells from them, pushing for a random wagon instead isn't just counterproductive, but also subtly helps take pressure off an unknown player. ND escaped from pressure due to people just randomly deciding to accept the AtE defense as VI play, and players like Papa Zito complained about that, but now Evee gives nothing during their wagon, and Papa Zito's cool with that?

As it stands, the only real town read I have is 'the worst,' mostly due to the IDGAF stance. Papa Zito is my top scum atm, since ND may just be new town, and their lynch gives no info beyond wifom about Evee. Evee gaining so much traction seems justified to me, although a fast wagon on D1 gives me pause. Papa Zito though... Zito has barely gotten attention beyond a few players (ND/kokichi), and partially it's due to his vote on kokichi.

Imo, Papa Zito complaining about ND wagon losing traction (he wants more pressure info?), yet sidestepping the evee wagon in favor of linking kokichi as a partner is scummy.

I think it came as a shock to me that I could be maj voted so quickly in such a short period of time on d1. In the games I’ve played, majs aren’ t generally allowed until d2. I was so close to getting majed and it seemed att that few people were concerned about a mislynch; so I felt that nothing I could say, would make any difference.

I didn’t initially accuse anyone initially, because I wanted to carefully read people’s posts, before I formed a read on them. No, I def. do not think it would have been all town quicklynching me. Obv. pushing for a quicklynch is generally something that benefits scum more than town, because town doesn’t like to mislynch. I already discussed my reactions in my post to the worst and there really isn’t anything more I can say on the matter. If your concern is that this sort of thing will be ongoing from me; it won’t.

With regards to the current wagon; I would also lilke to get Zito’s answers to yours and other people’s questions, before we hammer on Eevee. For right now, I ‘m fine with my vote but depending on his reaction to the questions he’s received, esp. about the whole left-field partner shading re: kokichi; I could switch it back to him. I thought it strange that he linked us without any logical reason whatsoever - save that k was his latest scumspect.

This however is the main post, that people are having difficulty with. What does this post even signify? No villa knows anyone else’s alignment; only scum do; we are all guessing. The backbone of which is your insistence that what sympathy I offered you on page 4 was fake. I think it's pretty weird that you've never felt sympathy for scum before especially in a circumstance like that wherein they get caught within the first couple pages and get wagoned. I suppose I might be able to chalk that up to your inexperience with playing scum and the rigors it entails at times that lead you to such a myopic viewpoint. Even so, I do think that even had you never once felt an ounce of empathy for scum in games you were town in, you should be capable of seeing why I or anyone one might feel bad if you got wagoned in a game right after you played in a Drealmerz game. I can't help but think you willfully are ignoring that part.

Here it is. Post 215. These were my thoughts on ND sheeping Evee and the seemingly half-added attempt by ND and Zito at distancing. It bugged me then, and it bugs me even more now.

Zito votes ND, but only after he sees an unvote (by Eddie) back to L2. Claims he wanted to hammer though.

Zito says he's not done with it yet, but sees everyone else going for the new 'shiny' distraction (Evee), so solo votes kokichi saying they are NDs partner.

ND solo votes Zito and demands answers for his 'almost' hammer on them. Doesn't get them.

ND switched vote to Evee without giving a reason. Says they still SR Zito though.

Evee is lynched. ND is 5th on the wagon. Zito is still solo voting Kokichi.

Keep in mind, Zito has meanwhile deflected all questions asked of him and ignored the Evee wagon, even when asked why (by me). ND never got their answers, and Zito never gave any reads beyond saying ND/Kokichi are scum buddies.

D2:

Wisdom, the worst vote Zito. Both then unvote Zito and move to me.

Kokichi, me, brassharald vote Zito.

Zito votes me. Ignores their two SRs from D1 entirely, which were both based around ND. Never gave a reason why ND stopped being their main SR, let alone Kokichi being their suspected partner.

ND sees Zito wagon, who was their one other SR on D1. Keep in mind, Zito never answered NDs questions, and ND pretended to care about that. ND votes ActionDan instead for the same type of reasons they claimed to SR Zito D1.

ND now says Evee was always their top SR and Zito was only a SR if Evee flipped scum. Zito is now somehow cleared for them? Zito hasn't said anything about ND or Kokichi, let alone why they are voting me.

I don't really buy it tbh. ND could still be just a new player townie whose just all over the place, but the two of them (ND and Zito) both look to me like they half-ass distanced each other on D1, neither really pushing the other or sticking to it. Today, both vote elsewhere, while ND is actively deflecting for Zito by hardpushing a counter-wagon on ActionDan.

Either way, I'm voting Zito independently of them being possible partners, but if Zito flips scum, im going after ND next.

Zito is still the scummiest player in the game to me.

I honestly don’t understand why you read anything I’ve posted as a defense of Zito at all. How can you ignore the fact that he stayed off of what turned out to be a bad wagon?

Fwiw, I still want Zito to answer mine and other people’s questions and I’m still really annoyed about it but for Dan to just lurk after putting me at L-1 and now push Eddie. It seemed to come out of left field.

MY current vote is on Dan for the same reason I initially voted for him, the same reason I briefly had it on Zito, the same reason I eventually switched to Eevee.


I - like I have done in every single vote I have made - am voting my strongest sr. I am not buying Dan’s reasons for voting Eddie rn. As I have already said, it reads opportunistic to me. What I'm trying to say here is that I fail to see a difference between your reasoning to SR Dan and your reasoning for TR Zito. Both ignored the Evee wagon. Dan lurked, while Zito posted a couple deflections while saying you and kokichi are scum buddies.

In effect, they both avoided the Evee wagon and let it happen, and I don't differentiate a zero-content post from not posting at all. Maybe that's where we disagree though.

You SR Dan for avoiding the Evee wagon, going after Eddie (which I agree is odd), and then not liking his response to you.

You TR Zito for avoiding the Evee wagon, voting me/you/kokichi (which you agree is odd), and then not caring about his non-response to you.

See what I'm getting at? The main difference between the two today is that Zito has an actual wagon, which you claimed you wanted D1. You solo voted Zito on D1, but only for a very small time period before switching to Evee. He voted you, but only after your wagon was dying, and only for a small time period before switching to Kokichi.

Today, both you and Zito convienently forget about each other's SR on the other. Zito votes me, ignoring you and Kokichi without giving a reason to do so. You vote AD, ignoring/TRing Zito, without giving a good reason to do so that wouldn't also apply to Zito to a T.

The only difference here is that Zito now has an actual wagon, which you desperately seem to want to stay off and/or counter. Seeing that counter and both you and Zito staying away from each past after the claimed D1 reads on each other looks fishy to me, especially given his lack of any reason at all, and your lack of reason that differentiates AD and Zito in any significant way.

I have also mentioned repeatedly - which you keep diregarding - that had Zito either been on the Eevee wagon or had Eevee flipped scum; I would not only have jumped on the d2 Zito wagon, I’d be spearheading it for all of the reasons I had mentioned on d1. However, both the flip and that weird Eevee post is making me cautious about rushing into another possible mislynch. If Zito was town, 100% he wouldve been quicklynched already for his anti-town play, but the fact that there's so much pushback says a lot imo. The kind of pushback going on for Zito definitely wasn't there for Evee. Is it that difficult to see why? All pushback in his defense has either been unexplained 'feeling' reads (bad and lazy play imo), or just general deflections/diversions like Srceen telling everyone to make a new wagon for no reason at all. Ankarius just said they didn't 'feel anything,' but thats obviously not legitimate reasoning, especially when they already admitted to having not read D1 at all. Actually, the only person that even has even tried is ND, and although I think their logic is faulty, its at least an attempt. That speaks a lot more to me than what others have(nt) done.

I’m down with that. I was just on the verge of switching my vote. Most of her posts are all about how she is “exhausted”, “lacks energy” or isn’t “engaged” for whatever reason. Dan is town. You and Tywin, while both having biased views of the gamestate, are both town.

Eddie is null.
Papa Zito is lightly leaning town, although that's mostly because this wagon on him is lazy.

Wisdom and the worst are both lightly leaning scum; nothing either of them has said so far showed town and they're the back end of the Zito wagon. If there was scum there, this would be a likely spot for them.

The brass read is shelved right now. There was enough blowback from the vote that I really couldn't test his response like I wanted to.

Your original case on me was pretty blatantly town, Tywin is town because he's falling into the same trap I see his type of playstyle fall into all the time; it's the type of trap that's easy to read and he's falling squarely on the town end of it.

I mean, I know I'm town and I saw a wagon on me like its certainly possible that both Wis and Ank are bad town but I think its just as equally possible that scum were going after a low resistance inactive slot.

I'm not a fan of the way he cries misrep when I was under the impression that the wagon on me was solely activity based. He knew I hadn't read yet and blasted me for not knowing his reasoning and then when I countered that I hadn't read yet he blasted me for that. It felt very "dammed if I do, damned if I don't" and I felt set up.

His p 29 posting is pretty bad. Koki is town but the chainsawy defense is bad I think.

If a wagon has so much support on it, then you actually gain more from being outwardly against it than for it, especially if it goes through.

It's a bit messier and difficult to control if the wagon doesn't dissipate, but that slot flipping later makes you look town.

As for Dan, I’m far from convinced he’s town for all of the reasons I’ve mentioned previously. He is intentionally keeping a low profile, which ironically is what Sugar haters have accused them of except in Dan’s case, it’s actually true. First, he keeps his vote on me while admitting to actively lurking and now, once again he parks a lone vote on Eddie and is otherwise pretty mia.

However, since scum is clearly trying to shade the worst, ank and Wisdom, the optimal lynch has to be their haters.

Statistically, the 4th vote on a wagon if wolf, is 75%. Onviously, the 4th vote can also be town. The reason for this, is that wolves ideally don’t want to push bad wagons or even worse, be the last vote on any mislynch. I would never base any read solely on this theory because it only applies to scum votes not town. In this case however, the 4th vote is from confirmed scum: to early to hammer but late enough to simultaneously shade that wagon’s voters and halt that wagon.

It’s no shocker that no one placed a 5th vote on brass after that and others jumped to a different wagon.

I’m also thinking scum wants a mislynch on Ty, because Ty objected to that wagon. If Ty was scum, he wouldn’t out himself as opposing the brass wagon, then parking a confirmed scum vote on it.

I tr him from the moment he stopped tunneling me and tr me. As for srceen, he was the first one to accurately towread me. He said, I was someone “he was never voting”. It's true that having a confirmed scum on a wagon means that it's less town-driven, but the way it's done is also too blatantly obvious that it's the case which means scum are more likely to be doing it to try to derail a wagon... but if scum are trying to derail the wagon, doesn't that make brass most likely scum? But then if brass is scum, aren't there better uses for the vote that are more likely to succeed? So therefore brass is more likely town... etc.

It's an endless loop no matter where you start because you can always find something to 'disprove' whichever assumption you're at in the chain.

I think scum did it primarily to cause WIFOM. Why would scum want to create WIFOM now? That's hard to determine at this point in the game since we don't have enough information to go on for a reasonable analysis, so it's pointless to analyze the zombie vote right now.

The best way town can use the zombie is to dismiss it entirely. Letting the zombie influence wagons and thoughts is letting

The interesting thing to me is that he voted Zito, then stated later after being asked that Eevee (now L-2) was scummy too. I don't think the act itself was suspicious at all since L-1 is a big deal for a wagon and I don't really blame him for choosing another POI to vote, but the way he went about it subtly changes the most likely motivation behind it from "vote on somebody else but on eevee in spirit" to "idk if I should put eevee at L-1 so I'll join this new wagon while keeping my options open."
