Based on a video game that's a spiritual successor to Bioshock. In post 13, Robert2424 wrote:Hello everyone, I'm actually not familiar with this them, somebody want to give me a brief.
In the game, humanity is at war with these shape-shifter things.
Humanity is also developing a few technologies to try to help them beat the shape-shifters:
1. Injections that give you memories of other people
2. Injections that maybe even give you some shape shifter powers or some wild shit
Anyway, I don't wanna spoil anything for the game, but a lot of the game itself takes place on a spaceship where your enemies are shapeshifters.
Robots with AI exist but they're generally on the side of the humans, too.
You have to make a bunch of moral decisions that may or may not doom all of humanity.
It's a REALLY good game.
If you don't feel like playing it, then I highly suggest watching this video, though it contains major major spoilers so I just suggest playing the game if you even have an inkling of a notion of doing it:

How often? Fairly regularly, though I think scum tend to win mountainous (no Power-role) setups more often on-site.In post 25, minhyukwithagun wrote:Out of curiosity, how often do town correctly identify mafia here? It seems like 12 days is counterproductive because it gives mafia more time to blend in or cover their tracks, versus something high pressure like 30 seconds.
Yeah, you do lose some immediacy but you gain a lot more from having a wider breadth of content to take in and more time to engage players and positions.
Basically applying pressure and checking player consistency across several posts is what tends to net scum.
You usually still get higher pressure situations when deadlines draw near.
A lot of people have trouble blending in for months at a time as scum, y'know. It can be a hard act to keep up.-

UNVOTE:
Can you explain what makes a wagon relevant
'cus I'd say yours being at L-2 when I voted made it incredibly relevant.
I still don't know why a lot of people started voting you, but apparently you're in a neighborhood? Does that have to do with it?
@Chara: Why not A50, who threatened to hammer?
Feels like you might be tilting a bit much here.
I still don't understand why Enter's wagon flew up to L-2 so fast, but Enter seeming to have hard dodged that made me want to put real pressure there. I trusted we wouldn't have a Boonskies situation and see a quickhammer.-

@Chara: Didn't know if it was a joke for sure, but I was fairly certain that Enter posting but not addressing me felt like a hard dodge and I was curious why he was disregarding direct addresses when sitting at L-2 even. When I say 'tilted' I mean like 'tilting your hand' not like you were invested to the point of making mistakes (like how the phrase usually gets used) but it is similar--I feel like the way you're handling Enter betrays a confident townread there and I dunno why you have so much confidence in any read this early on. What's the deal?
@Redtea: I don't think that Enter feels the pressure on them is serious or was serious, even at L-1. I didn't see them sweating. They were cool under pressure and I don't know what to make of it.
@skitter: I still lean Enter more scum than town, though if it is the case, I feel he's being bussed by someone and so he's being cool about the reality of his wagon. I dunno, though, and it bothers me.-

What's your other question? In post 157, Enter wrote:Hmm... it's almost like I goaded people into voting me and then I wasn't surprised when they did.
Do you love playing scum, Varsoon? Serious question. Also please answer my other question.
And yeah I generally enjoy playing both alignments. I like playing VT more than PRs, but I enjoy a role that has cool abilities. It REALLY bums me out when I get lynched or killed early with a cool role, though, so I have some conflicting feelings about being a TPR.-

Why do you wanna know?-

maybe I’m overreacting, but does this not sound very manipulative, especially late game?
And I fail to see how it's manipulative when I told you outright on D1 this is how my ability works.
P-EDIT:
@Chara: Howso (re: Enter Tilt)?
I wanna know why you're confident in Enter being town here. I don't get why the wagon exists or why anyone would hard-town Enter here either.-

VOTE: Fish
Why would you be worried about a co-ordinated in-PT push that was fabricated solely for reactions?
If anything, it serves 2 purposes:
1. If scum really is in the PT, then they'd hear from their PT-mate and react in a 'proper' way
2. Town who had no clue would react in a genuine way
It seems like it could provide good info, maybe. Why would you oppose that?-

Enter: Yay, chara agrees with me, I can die happy.
Remember this is a paraphrase.-

They made it a bit easier in the newest game to appease the NPCs but on harder difficulties you basically have to
1. Do everything they like
2. Never settle near them or take their stuff
3. Have a military that's much stronger than theirs
Only then do they pledge allegiance all game.
The biggest thing is the military--even if you're the best ally of all time, if your military sucks, they'll just undermine and eventually turn on you if they realize you're on track to win before them.
And that's really the heart of what I don't like about the game--I want to play this Civilization Sim but it quickly becomes a game of getting to a win condition and prizing that win condition over anything else influences both how I and the NPCs play in a way that doesn't feel conducive towards the sort of nuanced negotiations, relationships, and worldbuilding that I want from the game.-

I think that BEF isn't reading which, in general, I'd associate that more likely to come from town than scum.
I couldn't tell you what RedTea's posts are like at all.
Your posts are solid, though the jab at fake masons (FakeSons) and the subsequent "Well I always scumread Varsoon!" has me thrown for a loop.
Uh, who else is in this game?
Enter got wagoned really early but I don't know that they're scum.
I actually think the way their wagon formed and dissipated is probably a good place to look if you're a looking kind of player.
Shit, uh, let's see who you said was in this
A50's given me good vibes, iirc.
Persivul keeps fuckin drillin me and I dunno why
Chara and Zito are kinda just there
implosion exists?
I have no idea who the fuck quesy, queen, and skitty are.
S'bout where I am
So yeah
I suck at this.-

@BEF: Elbirn literally had just replaced in, you've been here since the game started and posted both before and after I redactedly became voteless.
Sorry if it felt like I was giving you shit, I just think it is actually fair to be critical of you for not remembering that.
Then again, as I've said, I don't even remember the whole playerlist so
That's why I think it's more likely you're town than not.
When I'm scum I am way more apt to keep notes, even if it's just mental ones.-

I went voteless because I wanted to.
I already told everyone why--asking me to share more is like trying to get blood from a stone.
Yeah, there might be more to what going voteless does for me mechanically, but if you keep digging, I'm going to think you're fishing rather than just questioning something odd.
We can hit majority easily enough without my vote. If it is a concern in the future, I'll be able to get my vote back, don't worry.-

Yeah it's not like the VCs had to be retroactively redacted or that I used it as a gambit or that I adhere to a philosophy that negative utility should be claimedIn post 490, BrightEyedFish wrote:
You announced that you were voteless unprovoked and that brings questions and suspicions from town and scum. If I need to be that blunt about it, then there you go.
So Your reaction to people questioning your claim comes across as unneeded AtE. At least that's the issue I'm having.
Yeah fuck me for trying to be transparent about my shit that makes me weaker
Also fuck me for joking with an old friend who I've played tons of games with on site, I guess
I think you're hard-bitter given the earlier push I had on you and that I accused you of not reading. Get over it.-

I think that's a fair enough stance if you really can't come to any conclusions.
They problem is that if you're not really committing to hard reads early on, it becomes a lot harder to read you as we start getting flips. It's like "Oh, what did BEF have to say about that guy? Ah.... not much" if that makes sense. I tend to get my best reads from interactions rather than from infospec, so maybe try that instead? In my experience, scum tend to want to keep their options open as possible, which is why I'm critical of that kind of play--you're also scumreading Elbirn, which is a stance I don't agree with and I feel is a bit easy to take given how many have taken it. Once again--can you go a bit more into why Elbirn is your top scumread?
What players do you think you need to interact more with?-

I missed that post by implosion but that's such a dumb-fuck stance to have it baffles me
Yeah I guess every town player should always full claim the second any part of their role becomes obvious and if they resist people pushing for their claim they're clearly scum posturing
Fuck off with that noise-
