I do not think that scum reading people because they have reads you disagree with and scum read people you find town is an effective strategy at finding scum.

Sure. But this is (again) mischaracterizing how I’m approaching the game. And you’re doing this a lot, frankly. I guess that’s the biggest reason I find you Scummy. You did this with VPB, you’ve done it to me, and you’ve done it with Italiano too. I am quite obviously trying to read through emotion as well (I’ve made multiple statements around this, and it’s obviously impacting my reads of Italiano and RTP), what I’m perceiving as sensible, honest arguments (I made this point about maxwell, I feel this way in a lot of instances when I’m reading Battle Mage, and I sense it coming from some of the discussions I’ve read from Elements and Datisi for instance), and I’m trying to make sense of positioning (which I’m noticing from you and actually, Green Crayons). If I was going to compromise anywhere, it would be there actually - I would vote for Green Crayons here too.

It's not meant to be a mischaracterization of what you are doing, I didn't say that is all you are doing. However, you do keep bringing up things like you don't agree with my push or I scum read your town read as reasons to why I am scum. I don't think this an effective way to read me.

If you find my interpretation of your play or other's play to be mischaracterizations in an opportunistic way or some such, then fine. I can't hate your rationale. I still stand by some of the logic I had at the time.

I've been keeping up with thread off and on today. I'd like for us to be able to end this day ASAP because I think we all need a break. I feel like I've caught on to something with RTP and feel like maybe there was possibly some theatre involved, but then again maybe I'm being unreasonable. I don't really feel like it right now, but I'll look at your iso and interactions again. But it looks like a lot of people can/will compromise for midway. Midway is a slot I haven't felt good about since he replaced in. I don't know about Elements, I'ma bit torn there, I can hammer if it gets to that point. Anything to end this day, but I generally feel the best about eliminating midway.

what made you not feel good about midway. how did you feel about lunar martian?

midwaybear's last post wasn't great and I struggle to undertsand what he's been doing after his initial burst of activity on replace in - granted I have to have some empathy because I'm in a similar spot and the game has not been an easy read, but I can only extend so much courtesy. I thought lunar was very stiff and mechanical, don't remember anything they did being memorable offhand.

as much as I don't like how GC has been pushing the game -> theres a certain like aura around the situation that makes me feel like GC is town here whos wrong. theres also another reason im more hesitant in pushing there atm that may reveal itself in the future.

You know what I keep hoping for? I hope that one game, just one game, we both come in as Town, correctly read each other as Town, and play solidly from there. Outside of the very first time we played together (and you still kept going back and forth on me there), we’ve been unable to get on the same page. I don’t think you’re Scum here (I’m going to agree with VPB that you’ve put out way too much AtE for that and though I’ve seen you be manipulative, I don’t really believe you would do all that for a win). But you’re way too paranoid of me in general. I don’t know what it is. And it’s funny because I literally have yet to play Scum here.

I’m off to bed. I’ll be around tomorrow night, and definitely for deadline. I have my view of where things are, and I’m going to try and stay faithful to that (unless something dramatic happens). I think we need to consolidate amongst a few options now - there’s some wagons that realistically are really not going to materialize, so I would encourage those players to reconsider. If I think my vote isn’t going anywhere, I’ll do the same. And I’m looking at you {Elements, Datisi} in particular to reconsider away from maxwell - that’s a crap wagon honestly. Midwaybear really should be putting a vote down too.

I think town is a little divided on their poes, and some scum are probably playing just town enough for the compromises to feel icky.

For example, I just could not get into my elements vote, even though I don't really see a reason not too. I'm not getting like strong scum vibes there either. I'd be willing to put my vote there again to end this day, but how they flip I don't have confidence in.

I think I'm starting to see andre town. I can see the thought process behind his progression on me now and it seems genuine. His reason is fine too because now that he describes it more, I can see how my play can be construed as mischaracterizing people. I do tend to try to interpret motivations and intentions and when I state those as conviction, people often see me reaching or in bad faith or something
