General

-Adhere to all site rules.
-Always play to win.
-Remember that this is a game - heated discussion is allowed, but personal attacks are not.
-Pretending to break the rules will be treated similarly as actually breaking the rules.
-Do not quote any out of game communication regarding this game - this includes your role PM, any other PMs I may send you and any PTs you may have. You are allowed to paraphrase. Any specific timestamps also fall under this rule.

PM me if you are unsure of whether a post you were planning on making breaks this rule.

-If you need to get my attention, please include "

" in your post or PM me.
-

-Do not use encryption, hidden text or excessively small text in your posts.
-Do not use any form of provable randomness. This includes dice tags, screenshots of random.org, etc. Saying you flipped a coin is okay, providing some sort of proof that you did isn’t.

Voting

Activity

Day 1 Flavor:

December 25, 2016.

A gunshot at Gourdy Lake is heard at about midnight. Some time later, a body is found from the lake. The victim is identified as Robert Hammond, a lawyer.

Witnesses say that they saw Lotta Hart, a photographer, at the coast a few minutes after the gunshot. The gun used as the murder weapon is found from a boat nearby. It has Lotta's fingerprints on it. Other evidence is also found pointing towards Lotta. She's quickly put in jail.

December 26, 2016.

The courthouse is filled to the brim. Hundreds of people want to see how this trial goes. Most think Lotta is guilty. Even so, some people have decided to take the matter into their own hands and prove Lotta's innocence, no matter what it takes. However, some people are also willing to do whatever it takes to see Lotta be declared guilty. What will happen? Will the truth come out? Only the outcome of this trial can decide that.

Night 1

The trial got off to a chaotic start. Accusations were flinged around wildly, evidence was presented and witnesses were called in.

The spectators discussed amongst themselves about who they suspected. It seems that their thoughts were caught by the defense, who moved forward and named their first suspect.

The suspect was an old man living in a boat rental shop he owned. It seemed way too unlikely for him to be a suspect; however, the evidence proved otherwise.

The trial ended with a new suspect taken to the detention center. That suspect was

Yanni Yogi, a Mafia Night 1 Informed.

The defense had scored their first big win. However, the trial is still ongoing and nobody can predict how it will go from here, especially with some people willing to do anything to get the defendant found guilty...

You know this wasn't the result of fair play. No "certain evidence" exists. Someone must be pulling the strings. Regardless, you can't do anything about it as another day in the trial starts, teeming with excitement, action and betrayal...

Night 2

The day started with a shocking event. Phoenix Wright, the lead defense attorney, made an accusation... and was wrong. He went to jail for contempt of court. Not the first time he's been there anyway...

Apart from that, mostly the same stuff happened as yesterday. Although the sudden arrest of the lead defense attorney threw things off, the trial continued with a public defender.

Once again, the jury accused someone. This time, it was

The day begins once again. People are pouring into the courtroom. At this point, the trial is old news. Under the “initial trial” system, this would be the last day too, although some people are speculating that the judge may make an exception.

Another person is arrested too. This time, it was even more loosely related to the case. Apparently

Mike Meekins

made some kind of blunder with the evidence and they just decided to throw him into jail, even though he was cleared of suspicion. Still smells fishy.

Regardless, as the amount of spectators decreases, so does the amount of time you have. The judge is getting impatient after all…

Night 3

The trial ended on a boring note. No new suspects were found, no evidence was presented... nothing.

The outcome was... a guilty verdict. The judge tried to get the trial extended, but he failed. Lotta Hart was officially found guilty.

A few months have passed since the trial. Lotta's now going into the appeals court to try to get her verdict overturned. This may be the last chance to get Lotta found not guilty. Until then, all you can do is sleep anxiously...

Nobody was eliminated.

Day 4

The day begins with a new trial. An appeals court has been set up as kind of a test. It’s only for this specific trial for now. Seems like the criminal justice system is pretty willing to try new things out actually.

Lotta’s been held at the Detention Center for a few months now. She says she doesn’t like it. Figures.

Another spectator was arrested a month or so ago. This time, it actually made the papers.

Marvin Grossberg

, a defense attorney, was suspected of some tomfoolery and is currently at the Detention Center pending a trial. Seems like the public too is suspecting that something fishy is happening.

Regardless, the trial is starting today. The higher ups are eager to end this test on a high note, so the trial probably won’t last long.

Game Over

The appeals court test didn't go too well. AN entirely different judge was used for some reason, the trial was rushed, no new info was discovered, only two pieces of evidence were actually evaluated... it seems like Lotta was set up to fail.

Regardless, the result was the same as Lotta's last trial. A new suspect was named and arrested as usual (this time, it was

Jake Marshall

), but at this point, it just seems like a courtesy. Nothing actually came of it.

Everything that could be rigged was rigged. And it worked.

Yanni is expected to be released sometime in a couple months. When you have so many suspects, you have to toss at least one of them out. The rest are pending trial. Nobody knows what's going to happen.

The trial's result was a tragedy, but that's just life. Sometimes the truth never does come out, as sad as it may be. All you can do is watch the next trial and hope it goes well. Even if an innocent person goes to jail.

Lotta Hart has been found guilty.

do you have any feedback about the game? about the flavor? about the setup? about my modding? let me know, I don't think I was at my best this game

i'll begin working on shin megami tensei 3 mafia once I finish the game. I'll try to include TTRPG-ish elements and events. this is an interest check of sorts, let me know if you'd be interested in playing or co-modding
