i sadly do not think of muse as Culture these days (or ever really lol) because their last few albums were mediocre to really bad but the first four. magical. effervescent. ahead of their time. etc etc

This is a perspective I understand but can’t really subscribe to, I find a lot of their efforts to “branch out” from the 2000s stuff interesting even when they don’t work. The Resistance/2nd Law are probably up their for the title of most overhated album ever, and Sim Theory is up there for me as well. Even when they miss (especially with their newest album, where my opinion is quite low) I still feel like they always put out two or three golden-age level gems that keep me interested long-term

Muse has been in what amounts to 1/3 of my life atp so I’ve gone through all their stuff and disliked a chunk of it, but they wouldn’t have stuck with me that long if I thought they were fully washed

I simply didn't know what to make of it until the last 7-8 pages, at which point he began reading like scum cracking under pressure (mainly from Ketchup) and lashing out.

He then exchanges a couple more nothingburger posts before retiring for the night. The next morning he comes out swinging with a Jackson vote at 680, refusing to elaborate further. He also says "finally, a wagon" when there is no semblance of a Jackson wagon at the time, suggesting he thinks more people will support him than actually will because he's just that much smarter than everyone else. From there he begins arguing with Ketchup and positing that he is simply bad at making reads, and starts mansplaining all over the place. The Jackson vote strikes me as petty and the continued arguments with new people strike me as desperate. KayJay then probes Dragon about his behavior and insists in 692 that his views are not just shaped by ketchup's opinions of him, saying that there are other examples, but refusing to cover those other examples in any more depth. By 761 he seems to have cooled off and reaffirms his vote on Skitter, but just a few minutes later he sheeps Ydrasse's vote using evidence that already existed well before he had any inkling of suspicion about me, which is shallow and reads like kowtowing for towncred to accelerate the decline of the wagon on him. I also read his sub-out as petty but apparently we're supposed to avoid talking about that (unrealistic) so I'll leave it there.

Evening. As you've probably gathered I'm struggling to stay invested in the game rn. Having three simulgames going across sites is foolhardy for anyone with a life, and I hope I never goad myself into trying it again. Here's a small readlist:

Ydrasse: This slot first since it was my first real-ish vote of the game. Content seems rather dry, their progression on Purple feels very sheepy. Behavior wrt me is fine. Not sure about the "triumvirate" idea between her/HEM/skitter. Reactions have been towny. Starting to think my scummy feelings around her were just objections to her playstyle so I'll pin her as towny for now

KayJayQueue: Scummier the more I look at her. Zigzags in and out of fluff mode like an Olympic skiier on the slalom. 1399 unsettles me for some reason. Sometimes she's the definition of "talks a lot, says nothing", sometimes she's in the middle of everything and hounding almost everyone (except me I guess). The Mango Manifesto(tm) seems like a targeted tool for pushing an LHF wagon and I mindmeld with HEM's concerns about confbias.

HEM: Townier the more I look at him. I think his presence has been consistently good for thread in the last couple days, he's butting heads with people a fair bit (esp Jackson) but I get the sense that he's keeping one eye on the solve at all times and just wants to hear from everyone. Cool stuff all around rn, solid townread. Kind of erases my ill will towards the slot from Dragon since HEM plays a lot like Dragon, but in a much healthier way that I'm guessing Dragon wanted to go for.

skitter30: Seems like a bit of a hot topic, I'm personally not vibing with the slot based on what I've read. Seems to be tunneling Jackson a bit, the most notable interaction chain I've seen is them voting Jackson while questioning them about their sus on Ketchup, and then seemingly starting beef with Ketchup later. Maybe the ISO is limiting how I view that but it's a bit of a scumlean, they've been very reserved in talking about anything not in their core interests (like Jackson) which I feel is scum behavior more often than not.

Purplemango: Stereotypical new player, I think the shading of their play is unwarranted and arguably manufactured. Complaining about someone's reads being "wishy-washy" on D1 is asinine. Their reactions to the pressure on their slot and wagon have been fine. Townread and it'll probably stay there until flips

Zachheus: More noobie lowposter energy but slightly more sus. Too much mindmelding with KJQ for my taste and they seem to be fine coasting between flavor-of-the-month wagons. Kind of NAI for a newbie but I'll put him at mixed for now

JacksonDingo: 250 posts? Slow down, Jack. On a more serious note, he seems quite surly. Very vocal with his reads but struggles to articulate some of them (see: Ketchup) in a way I'd usually find scummy. However, Jackson is too confrontational and headstrong at this juncture to make his slot seem wolfy. More than makes up for the long RVS where in hindsight it kinda felt like he was getting strung along by myself and KJQ. Townread until further major developments.

For the record, I think the only motivator for scum to kill purple here is fear of thudding into a doctor. Jack had some kind of "analysis" he shared at EoD2 that made him conclude Purple was FN (ultimately true, nice job JV), but if the last scum is a newer person who doesn't have a massive sample size of games with JV, they might not trust that as much; as it happens, that describes all three of us who are still in PoE.

If HEM is cleared as town from Jack's track, I'd be more than willing to just sheep him at this point. Both of the remaining scum candidates have been scumread by me to some extent so it's not the worst thing to lose either of them, even if one (zach) strongly townreads me.
