These were Boring's top two town reads at one point. She flipped on her second top town read as soon as her first CC'ed him on a modifier, without further investigation. I find that questionable. In post 476, boring wrote:Shadow_step- Has an aggressive town persona. A hint of grandiosity. I haven't seen this behavior before with scum.
eagerSnake- He's got a most-likely-town claim. If he's still alive tomorrow, he'll probably be bumped way down because he's pretty useless
I am further surprised that not a single person brought up that she was willing to trash her town reads that quickly. But w/e.
Anyway, I want to hear what Boring has to say once she comes back; my gut wants her to be scum (hello conf-bias) but I can't justify just throwing down the hammer without giving her a chance to say her piece.-

It alone isn't damning. If her only reason for town reading Eager was his claim, then it makes some sense to flip on him in that situation. I would have investigated further (and, well, did) but she's V/LA which could be introducing noise. In post 1079, nn30 wrote:

So, yeah, interested in what she has to say. We have a week to let her post her side of things.
I am skeptical of boxing my thought process in to "We have competing claims we must lynch one of them must must must" unless we are hitting the 'Two people claimed non-Normal roles in a normal game' situation.-

I think she might've picked up on him coming after me repeatedly, and wanted to use a townread on him as leverage if he ever made a real push on me. I really can't figure out why he was her top tr other than that. Her claimed reason for having him top tr his fake. Hell I was just as aggressive as he was if not more aggressive i.e. "then vote me you scared child"-

Phone post so keeping it short again.
I think I've been tunneling way too hard on nn30/imposion, whenever I feel like I'm not being heard I tend to get more and more assertive to match and that's a dangerous pitfall to fall into. nn's response to me was good and seemed genuine, on the other hand I still don't like implosion, especially his last post on boring.
ISOing LUV however has made it pretty clear I've been wrong to give him and others a pass while I tunneled. For now I'm going to

Right, so Shadow has no motivation as scum to pull a gambit like this. Shadow is town.
Eagar... well Iam waryof a world were two town aesthetics exist, but his play falls more in line with how I'd expect scum to play in this situation. Dissuading a wagon on both claims, assuring the other claim that they are both town (then trying to scare em' if they can't convince em'), andmost importantlysowing seeds of doubt. Lines of thought like, "Lynch me and it'll be two mislynches in a row", are a step away from fear mongering imo.
Lol, I sound just like this when I'm caught scum. "Don't lynch me guys,In post 815, eagerSnake wrote:If we don't overcome this, we will almost certainly lose.It could mean the game!"
If Eager thinks that Shadow is town why would he be making little jabs like this to scare him off? If Eager were to keep trying to convince Shadow he, Eager, was town instead it would have come across as genuine, the way Snake is going about this doesn't look like town trying to convince town.In post 868, eagerSnake wrote:So when I flip town you're lynching s_s? Everyone that is voting me is because "2 town with ascetic no way" so that applies to s_s unfortunately once I flip town
If Eager is town why wasn't he doing more to convince people he is town at this point?
All I saw was belly aching. While I don't doubt the legitimacy of him being frustrated, it certainly gave him a good excuse to not actually do anything helpful.
This one here in particular, not only is it a passive scare tactic, but it reminds me a whole lot like how Scum!Snake tried to avoid getting strung up in the last game we were in together. He tried to dissuade his wagon by appearing like a town thinking in the long term with questions involving what happens after he flips town. I will say though that the couple posts before that, were he asked how shadow would read Gamma, and boring tomorrow, were actually okay lines of thought. In post 965, eagerSnake wrote:@shadow Okay, and when I flip town, how do you intend to survive tomorrows lynch?
I think there were a few other times Eager did something resembling data generating, and creating discussion, but for the most part he just shouts that he and shadow are town, and leaves it at that.-

Well, I'll look into Boring too, but many of your posts have been down right manipulative. In post 1091, eagerSnake wrote:Hey. Grendel. I'm actually town but nice wallpost
Playing into unknowing majority's fear is a really scum oriented strategy.-

Also, your summary has made me rethink again due to what I did Day 5 in NPBR. Vote stays for now though.<Embrace The Void>

Saying things like, "you're gonna lose if you vote me" is playing with people's fear of losing.Gamma Emerald wrote:
