rc townread comes from being way more engaged in the game and actually making sense compared to previous experience

like i think that's kind of a shit reason to tr someone (especially because lack of engagement in 1718 could be handwaved by v/la BUT ALSO the C9++ game was going on at the same time so idk) so unlike schadd_ i'm not as crazy about it because schadd_ makes as much sense in my head as it does when i write it down

i think you're town because the way you're moving through the game reads much differently than before but a good portion of it is based more on gut and i usually don't trust my guttier reads especially if it's an rc townread

Most of what gets me going on certain things is just having a feeling about something which is usually based on similarities between things people have done.

I know the explanation for the read on you is pretty accurate from my own experience. A lot of those are similar tells to how I read you.

But I don't think faking townreads is particularly difficult, if you have experience with a player especially and know their meta. If based on past games the expectation is for them to easily read you I don't see the read as anything unexpected, especially if there was the incentive of trying to buddy as well.

I haven't really re-read yet (i'm just getting back into my groove) but the line she had earlier where she didn't know that bussing early on was a really bad strategy in this specific set-up pinged me a bit that she could possibly be bussing herself. she's giving me mixed feelings now though (as in she's kind of towning it up) so i'm not super crazy about it

In the context of THIS game I could see her having said similar to gayreen pregame and the interaction they had earlier d1 as gigabyte trying to encourage this. Then gigabyte's thing about grey "you've been ignoring me, etc", "you really do have weak reads on me" so on and so forth I could see from giga being conscious of her partner ignoring her and leaving that association, possibly annoyed (well if it was me I'd be annoyed, at least).

guys, i want to move that pressure onto -Grey-, seriously. yes the mistakes stated so far are someone elses, and arguably shouldnt be held against the slot, but creature stated awhile back iirc: if a slot seems scummy at first and later looks more town, its PROBABLY still scum. im vibing with that statement now. im gonna make a -Grey- masterpost next to back this up tho. consider moving votes around, please.

#107 implies scum mindset: asking about townreads and why no ones talking about them. remember, scum know everything.

Is it a bad idea to say who your townreads are, or are you guys just opting to not say them

this is a huge leap that i don't get, probably from actually knowing gayreen is scum

#137 is a sudden jump in content at a critical point and a CRITICAL break in character for GAYreen. GAYreen asks about putting the l-1 vote on TB here. note the following: 87 and 91 imply that he DOES NOT BUY potential arguments vs. TB. there is no change by this point, nothing has come up implying he changed his mind. and #101 states a wariness/dislike of naked votes, when schadd_'s vote arguably was higher content than GAYreen's uhh... intent to l-1? (its not even l-1 vote or intent to hammer, its like the hammer vote and l-1 got mixed up and he was stating intent to l-1) this post (#137) is WILDLY out of character with previous actions, in a way that is, ok, NAI -- but if you parse it town, says badtown, and if you parse it scum feels p damn scummy.

there are just a lot of bits where cassie points out scummy stuff gayreen/grey did but tries really hard to not commit to a read on it

#197 continues casting shade at schadd_. it IS a light towntell for noobs but leans NAI for experienced players. REMINDER: GAYREEN IS NOT A NOOB. the shade-casting continues in #199 and #202, #202 is buzzwordy, and the remaining 6 posts are nearly contentless except for #361 trying to cast doubt on creature's conftown status.

i'd be hella bitter now actually because i have it only took me like a few minutes to actually reread bits of D1 to see that the points we thought made cassie look better than me were bs

like i came into D3 hoping i'd get nk'd because i thought my D2 might have been doctor-y and i had literally no clue how i was going to push Grey/Cassie as a team (it was kind of like how i figured the scumteam was house/dram in family mafia early on but i basically had no argument for it because it was just POE and when kraska flipped i became a consensus scumread for bs reasons... like now that i'm thinking of it the parallels to that game and here are so fucking similar) and this game has been a mess to reread so i procrastinated but DUE TO REAL LIFE CIRCUMSTANCES my head is a lot clearer than it was late D1/D2 and like now i get it

also i think my strategy for this game was basically masochism if you think of me as scum

pushing a lot of hard townreads (especially if your partner is one of those) makes people really fucking paranoid of you and makes it hard for you to fake a genuine thought process

it just doesn't outweigh what little towncred you might get from reading a lot of people as town correctly (which is like zilch)

plus i positioned myself to 1v1 someone who yesterday basically everyone thought had really genuine emotions in-thread and was an unlikely partner to grey

like as scum i would have had to make sure there was some basis for one of {rc, schadd_} being scum at some point and i kind of did so with rc but he barely posted at that time and i let go of it pretty quickly

like at least think about how each of us positioned ourselves throughout the game
