I looked up 'derp' and don't understand smith's and grey's uses of it. If anyone would explain, this newbie would appreciate a better explanation that I find in the glossary.

The IC is required to lie to the town as scum. She should not lie about good play principles and such but lying about how a claim order would optimally be done is absolutely fair game.

Lying about theory is against IC guidelines regardless of their alignment and you damned well know this.

I think that "it's a good idea, trust us on this and hold us accountable for it if we're proven wrong" is a sufficient argument at this stage.

I honestly don't see any real benefit to it, but on the other hand I also don't really see much harm in it either. It's unorthodox, but I'm not in opposition to the idea, so I'll throw my support behind it with a not-BP claim.

Why on all of those? RC is almost certainly capable of constructing a decent-looking RVS post as scum; "I'm voting you because salt from last game" is a super easy RVS vote for scum!RC to make, so it seems entirely null to me.

AA/DW's RVS votes were basically empty; what in particular suggests that they were anything other than null?

and OW's vote-back seems like the least scummy part of that post; why does that snippet of a vote-back ping you as scummy?

If OMGUS is the gold standard of scumtells, that's all the more reason to lynch RC.

OMGUS is the shit standard of scumtells. OMGUS is natural and normal for town, especially town who feel like the push on them is bullshit (and you of all people should should be cautious of scumreading RC for OMGUS'ing you, unless I'm just totally misremembering how things went between you two in 1770). A newbie player engaging in it MIGHT be a bit of a town lean for it, and an experienced player engaging in it is basically null for the exercise for the most part.

Agreed on RC's responses, I'm much less certain on Grey, and you're really gonna have to explain what in particular OW/DW are doing to ping you there. I can maybe see the idea that OW was sitting out the fight as scum (though I don't especially see how you distinguish that from newb town who doesn't know what to do in that kind of situation), but you haven't discussed your DW read at all other than stating that it exists, and nothing in her responses seems to ping me.

The two aren't mutually excursive.

This sequence was actually decent for Grey. 81 was a pretty plausible attempt at getting info from someone (and getting something honest from a "confused newbie" is actually super useful, especially when it comes to trying to sort whether his original post was fake, and/or how he'd process realizing what was actually going on). I don't have any issue with his followups to DW either.
