On a scale of 1-10, how bastardly do you want the game to be (10 = evil)? 7
On a scale of 1-10, how complex/unbalanced are you comfortable with roles being (10=lol)? 10
Rank these themes, in order from best to worst:
Historical Disfigurements
Things that don’t make sense
Authority Figures
Literary Characters
Existentialism
Pokemon, Digimon, & Harry Potter
Any other themes you might want to see come into play? LOLcats for Adel's sake
Any specific roles/types of roles you want to see in play? mafia aligned SK, NK immune miller vig
Any game mechanics? All of them
Want lots of flavor? Doesn't matter
None? If you don't feel like it-

There's only 11 of us that means 6 to lynch go go!Nab wrote:I wonder what would happen if 7 people voted for cicero before the game even started.
Sad appeal to emotion for a role you don't even have. ObvSCUM. Why aren't more people voting cicero?cicero wrote:But you run the risk of him killing me at the same time he makes me the doctor or something. :p I get the feeling that guardian has a bit of mischief to him.FoS anyone not voting for cicero-

Why must the Mod always disagree with me. There are only 11 players here I swear.Guardian wrote:There appear to be 12 of you... So 7 or so to lynch? Not sure... The vote counter will be here soon...

If cicero really wants to be lynched that bad maybe he's the jester. I definitely don't want him to fulfill his win condition.

I have a feeling that the pegs may signify something happens to a person when the reach 3 and 5 votes. In order to test that out.
vote: xyzzy
Also for a reference as to why I think suggesting and going along with poor stratagies can be a null-tell please read the first two pages of Open 57.
AndFoS NabNabfor his overly hard pushback of the claim supporters.-

Don't get your panties in a twist. I'll be moving my vote once the mod posts in game again. And I think you are confusing my use of the word hard. I did not mean difficult, I meant rigorous.NabNab wrote:I think you need to recalibrate your threashold for "hard". I really like to understand the underlying mechanics of the game. For some reason Xtoxm has an extra vote on him. And I'd like to see why it's there. I do think my idea of the 3 and 5 pegs is somehow related to the extra vote. So I am following up on the idea with another experiment by voting Paradox. The switch over to Xtoxm's was to see if anyone would be stupid enough to jump on the wagon seeing the support and the odd behavior at the time.NabNab wrote:@shaft.ed: Your continued interest in experimental voting disturbs me. You seem to be searching for the most volitile voting pattern when we should be searching for scum. If I may ask, is this related at all to your role?
Adel, I totally got the antivote.-

OK so it looks like first to three votes gets an extra one. Not sure if that works for multiple players or not. I'm going to leave my vote until the next votecount to see if Lawrecnelot had a double vote. And then I will move my vote to someone without a vote to see if I might have a double vote. I also had no indication I would have a double vote in my role PM.
Yeah this is a really tangible theme to anchor roles onto:Paradox wrote:I don't think we should massclaim day 1, but why are you so sure there's nothing to anchor the roles on? Unless you know more than one.Guardian wrote:Things that don’t make sense will be our main theme... If something makes sense, be wary.
Historical Disfigurements figures to be a prominent secondary element...
And Existentialism will no doubt play a part -- when has Existentialism ever made sense anyway?
Authority Figures, Pokemon, Digimon, & Harry Potter, and Literary Characters didn't make the cut explicitly, though I would not be surprised if some or all of them wove their way into the game.
And you can bet that some themes not disclosed by me or suggested by you will have a great bearing on this game's outcome...-

Guardian, I thought everyone was getting roles before you modkilled them. Does the lack of DGB's role reveal mean we won't be privy to such information in the future?
In regards to the role name claim. I agree with cicero for now, in that it seems like an idea to keep people busy and feel like we're moving the game forward. At this point I think it will be detrimental.
Also cicero, I'm surprised you have such a harsh interpretation of Adel's incentives to the claim, but don't find it the least bit suspicious that she is a major proponent of it.-

No my point was you were saying 'OMG OMG Adel could do crazy things with a massclaim as scum.' Adel proposed the role claim. Yet you don't link the two. Am I wrong in connecting the dots there?cicero wrote:I think I misread you shaft.ed. I thought you were saying that you werent suspicious of Adel. But you are accusing me of not being suspicious of Adel?
That's stupid. Anyone not suspicious of Adel hasn't played with Adel.-

@Lawrencelot could you please vote for Xtoxm to see if either of us is a double voter?
I don't see any major harm or any major benefit in claiming whether or not our rolenames have anything to do with our roles. Guess it would generate discussion.-

Can I ask for no voting until the next vote count please, I know that causes people to not play correctly, but we need to figure out if 1) I have a double vote 2) lawrence has a double vote or 3) the first person to 3 gets an extra vote. Thanks, and paradox or rogueben can you please unvote. One more votecount and this should be worked out.-

Sorry guys I should be trying a bit harder in this game. I've got two games in critical stages (that's about my capacity), so I'll be a lot more into this one in a bit. I'll go on record as saying I'm finding most of the conversation thus far to be mostly bickering about game theory and the meaning of words.-

I have nothing in my role PM that leads me to believe I would have a double vote. This leads me to believe that either the Mod randomly chose me, or (more likely) that someone has an ability that gives other people a double vote a la Dr. Who Mafia. Kinda weird that the lynch requirement would adjust accordingly.
so then what are those pegs for?-

I know it's unusual but is it scummy? Is there any reason that once the cat is partially out of the bag, we have to let it roam around the living room? Seriously I'd like opinions on this before people start pressuring Xtoxm to fully claim without discussion first.xyzzy wrote:shaft.ed, a claim like that is extremely unusual, and knowing the rationale behind the rolename fitting the role will help us know if he' telling the truth.-

Current working hypothesis: Adel is scum who, unfortunately for her, was paired with Xtoxm. His constant "she's scum" with no backing is an incredibly bad attempt at distancing. Adel is being unusually quite towards Xtoxm hoping it will go away. Also tried to pin xyzzy as a possible scum partner for him here:

I've got to agree with this sentiment. But claiming Doc as a SK is pretty unusual, if he's scum I'd expect mafia. Is Guardian ever going to updates us? He also had a pretty specific town claim "Things that don't make sense town" not simply town. If he is scum then they have safe claims for sure.Adel wrote:note that xtoxm hasn't made any last min case against any other player, which is totally common for day-killed town-aligned players.-
