i feel like IAVH is just dropping tons of "traditionally scummy behavior" and i feel like an april join date is that sweet spot where people generally know better than to drop obvious scum tells. they also havent really adjusted to pressure which reads as not-nervous.

PP is kind of a chat mafia read; they responded very naturally in real time. I also find myself agreeing with their takes a lot. I've noticed that sometimes scum stop pushing me when they realize I'm hard to push so PP dropping their scumread gave me a lil pause, but I can see how they arrived at their read flip based on my posting. They also announced the read flip whereas I feel like scum usually silently stop pushing to keep their options open.

Plenty of room for a partner in all of that; KKFC's theoretical partner could have just been frozen, bussing, not wanting to be obviously counterwagoning, simply absent, etc. I don't really agree with your gamestate analysis essentially, although I agree KKFC could easily just be scummy looking town. Generally scum don't defend scum that often anyways imo, especially at the point where KKFC was at. With the position KKFC was in me thinks scum would wanna keep their distance which would match the reactions you described.

i think kkfc is the way to go. iavh softing is unideal but i've seen many an overexcited townie drop unnecessary hints about their role so i don't think it really changes my read on them either way. i think i spotted their soft and so did oopsie so i wouldn't be opposed to them full claiming at this point since scum can probably easily scope it out too.

2) if theyre scum we lock them into a claim early

iavh: if you're town, i guess i would say to focus less on mechanical stuff and fancy reaction tests and more on trying to discern intent and motivations, and as the game progresses, associations. it can be hard! i used to play it looser and more shitposty but i play better when i attempt to deeply think more frequently. scumhunting gets easier the more you do it.

another piece of advice that's good for either alignments: if most players are pushing you to approach the game in a certain way, it'll probably be good for your standing in readslists to adjust to that.

I've been bit before townreading scum for similar reasoning and a lot of what I felt about IAVH was instinctual. Didn't feel strongly enough and at a certain point I realized IAVH would be elimmed regardless anyways. There was a survivalistic aspect to it in that I realized it'd look really bad on me if IAVH did flip scum. Wish I had stuck to my guns but hey, hindsight.

i have a busy day and i dont trust myself to twilight post in time before the thread lock if there's a hammer so i'll make my post now. there are a couple of different reasons i think it's good for me to soft claim now, but i don't wanna show my whole hand yet per se.

. There's some sort of gated-ness to my role that I don't want to claim yet (modifier such as 1-shot, simple, loyal, etc, or a protective role weaker than doctor... or both?). The gatedness is why I was skeptical of the potential backup doc crumb I thought I saw from IAVH. I'll throw out what I'll be doing tonight depending on what I am... just to give scum something to worry about.

- If I'm a babysitter, I will be aiming to take out scum.
- If I'm a jailkeeper, I will aim to block scum if there's one scum left, and aim to protect someone I think is almost definitely a VT if there's two scum left
- If I'm a rolestopper, I'll be protecting someone I think is almost definitely a town PR
- If I'm a simple doctor, I'll be protecting someone I think is almost definitely a VT

i would appreciate it if we didn't really discuss this further too much until tomorrow; i wanted this to be a last second twilight post to throw some wifom scum's way.

i guess what it comes down to for me at the moment is oopsie and kkfc don't really seem to be approaching each other that naturally in their isos. oopsie devoted a lot of words to justifying their kkfc read. they even admitted here that they might look better from a kkfc flip which makes me think they had distancing on the mind:
