My other half agreed with Thor about Dr Pants last night (prior to the timeline breakdown), but I'm kinda meh about all that swirl atm.

In post 61, Dr Pants wrote:I don't like Pasche's vote. Given that everything was already said about Shiryu, his justification seems unnecessary.

I think the most town driven wagons in this game are the wagons on Baezu and Marcrell. I am feeling way better about the Marcrell case but if nothing moves here I might move the vote to Baezu. As a particular note here to farside: You have called the Marcrell wagon "good" several times in this game, still you put a vote on Messiah Complex, when he has 0 votes, while the Marcrell wagon has already 2. If you really think the Marcrell wagon is good, what does this achieve but distraction?

You're not really pushing it. You're just arguing with people. Including me, apparently. I'd like to back one of the two wagons I mentioned, but there's really no developments on them. And I don't like how you and now Baezu aren't supporting the Pants wagon very well.

I'd rather join the one wagon that is both on someone I think is scum and being pushed well by people I think are town.

VOTE: Baezu

The Baezu wagon does look pretty town-driven to us so far.

I just don't have strong reasons to think this is her scum game so far.

I think ffery kind of needs a rest, so I might post more. My current scumreads:

#1: Thor
Reasons:
1. His confirmation post. I don't think Town Thor would have even contemplated living longer than one day, because if you're a good player you're anticipating a Nightkill in the first night.
2. His vote switch from Pants to Jiffy. Looked like jumping from a case he was really convinced about to a more lighthearted looking vote on Jiffyjaffy. Also: This happened right after Jiffjaff townread Thor. Not sure if it's a coincidence, but it's definitely a convenient attack angle.

#2: Pants
Reasons:
1. Lying scum contradicting himself making a whackjob of a defense and everything. If I believed Thor was Town I'd totally sheep that.
I am wondering if Thor is bussing? I mean it doesn't look like it but it's Thor.

#3: Marcrell
Reasons:
1. Well bler. He has like 4 posts or something, just look at them I guess. Reasons have been delivered by Anatole and later farside.

#4: Messiah Complex
Reasons:
1. As Majiffy said, his vote is slightly disconnected from his reads list, which suggests he just randomly assembled some stuff and then put his vote... somewhere. I don't really trust Majiffy but I guess it's a half way decent point.
2. He put in a lot of content and then he just discusses minor details about all kind of stuff that will probably be forgotten in a few days anyway, why bother? I don't want to call it spam but functionally it probably comes down to it. I noticed in particular his remark about coaching in #360, which has no point at all really.

Jiffy isn't in this list because fferys gut townreads him. I also have some townreads.

Your focus is off. It looks to me like your tunneling because town tunnels. Your cases are built not on evidence, but flash reactions to particular posts that you "feel" are scummy. This is weak scum hunting, and does not serve any purpose for this town.

Does this sound like drpants thinks thor is scum and not town

I'm not seeing what you are seeing in this quote. I felt it was off that pants never voted while constantly attacking him. Now that he has voted him the picture looks actually more genuine.

So if you feel I'm being scummy this game you can be sure it's because I'm town. If I were scum right now, I'd be drawing way less attention to myself and being way more subversive

That's why I said most. I don't think people really have that much control over their own playstyle. Like I said, I've been trying to change mine to no avail. Maybe some people are better than others at doing that but I'm almost 40 and people my age don't change very much if at all.
Anyway, mislynch me if you want. It's certainly not going to help town win.

This is the last post in which I'm going to discuss this, we all need to be looking for actual scum rather than focusing on my play ability or lack thereof. By focusing on inane things we are letting scum walk away with this game.

Case in point: I still think marcrell has contributed nothing to this game. His posts are IoA and he only comes in to post when people mention his absence. Is that not way more lynchable? In my mind, even if my play is shit, I'm at least trying, answering people's questions, participating and
you can always get rid of me later. I don't like being in Lylo anyway.
I just hate the fact that every fucking time I get lynched on d1 no matter what I do.

In the first part of your posting you're addressing pro-town play, which you say is not lynching you. In the second part of your posting you're suggesting the worst way town could deal with you if you're town, that is leaving you alive for now but lynch you at some point later. Any idea why you put those, imho contradicting, stances so closely together?

I tunnel it's pretty bad for me and I get lost when I tunnel.

I asked you why you voted Messiah back when he had 0 votes while the other prefered suspect of you had already 2. At the point of my question the Messiah wagon was already bigger than the Marcrell wagon though, still you instantly changed your vote. That didn't seem like a natural reaction to me.

I've read over Messiahs claim. My gut says it looks okay. Not liking the idea of lynching a claim before we have counter evidence. I have been looking at farsides reaction and it feels like she was prepared for that and instantly had a new target which caught my suspicion. baezu is sheeping around like crazy, meh, hard to read her role in this. Slightly leaning town on Shiryu, probably for good effort.
I am kind of leaning town on Majiffy. This whole thing is looking extremely bad on him and he could have expected that outcome so...

At some point my partner will probably hammer out of sheer disgust about the self-vote. I'll be over in the corner grumbling.

Thank you for that brilliantly oversimplified misrep.

If you want to defend him present a town case.

I want to lynch scum. I think my vote is on scum.

Or, present a valid alternate wagon - heck, if you and Majiffy hoped on Pants I'd probably head over there as well.

Nope.

But you're making empty motions right now - you're not even functionally opposing the wagon, you're just making noise.

Not at all. My vote is on my best bet at the moment for scum and I think the wagon has legs.

I probably won't be around much for the next day or so, though. You may have better luck convincing my partner. He's a strong not-fan of self-voting.

Feel free to point out the misrep specifically.

Players as town are pretty much by nature more anomalous than as scum, particularly more experienced players. Lack of self-censorship, less concern about appearing town and more concerned about figuring shit out, etc. What I'm saying does not boil down to wacky town vet players.

Why'd you say the town read on Majiffy was gut, as opposed to just saying it was a town read?

Because it is a gut read that I'm not going to be able to explain all that well. You can find in my iso the post where I decided I was seeing town-Majiffy and IIRC it came about based on one of the behaviors that you're calling scummy - letting his vote sit out of play. I haven't seen anything since then that looks like scum-Majiffy to me.
