I'm going to talk a little bit about why I consider this a scumpost.

-I mean no offense by this statement, but I think these sorts of "surface level" reasons to townread others come a lot more from scum than from town. Town, uninformed of anyone else's alignment, are naturally distrustful; doubtful. Taking such reasons as "lots of asking questions" and "trying hard to figure out this game" as reasons to townread others is more likely to come from scum, who both:
1) Know everyone's alignment and thus do not require strong reasons to townread people
2) Need to pretend to be sorting people to keep up appearances.

Nancy mentioning Mastina and the IC claim along with the rest of her townreads goes entirely along with my second point there; it's simply mentioning something for the sake of mentioning something and appearing to be solving the game.

From a quick scan of the posts following this it seems others agree with me here, so I think I can leave it at this. I urge others to join me here.

You’d be wrong about the vote not about the read being surface level. My d1 reads are almost always surface level - especially scumreads until I eventually get into the game.

I haven’t voted yet because I don’t yet have a strong read. I mention Mastina because I think it’s a mistake to vote for someone on the base of a claim. unless you have solid reasons for disputing it. I think you’re likely town here who is clearly unfamiliar with my meta.

I jumped on what turned out to be a bad wagon in my last game on here and want to avoid making the same mistake. There has been a lot of suspicion on both Kade and Wisdom but think both of them have a high probability of being mislynchbait. Just like in my last game on here, most likely there’s at least one wolf on my wagon d1, probably not you or Brian.

I am perplexed but not that upset about the votes on me because, assuming town is smart enough to not mislynch me, my VCA for d1 is almost guaranteed to help me make correct reads d2 and I most certainly will. I’m the most curious to see if Necromancer peops jump on this because it will definitely be illuminating.

Who is Necromancer?

My last game on here, which I played with Wisdom, Koichina, Ginghie (Eddie Cane). Wisdom who was town in that game was one of two people pushing my mislynch and I would have been too, had Eddie not unvoted me before I could be hammered. On d2, everyone had me at locktown. The worst wanted to policy lynch me for being mislynchbait.

I don’t see why Wisdom is scum here. While I disagree with him on his “town don’t want to look town” here, he doesn’t seem to be any different here than in that game.

Looking at the votes on me, I dislike Dunnstral’s ISO the most. I think at least one of Dunn, Nos, Kat is possibly a wolf.

Well, she’s obviously wrong. I have never played with her before, so have no meta to work off of and why I still don’t understand her vote on me but based on her ISO, she doesn’t strike me as someone who’s vote on me is particularly likely to be opportunistic because the vast majority of her posts on here have been pretty extrnsive.

I hate mislynches, so I would rather sort someone like her out. That’s why I didn’t include in her in the most likely list of possible wolves on my wagon because I have no doubt that the scum vote(s) on me is most likely an opportunistic vote.

Dunn’s ISO seems to be full of weird posts, like demanding Grape self-vote (trying to hard to look town), Insisting, rather than speculating that Mastina’s claim has to be fake and aggressively pushing Wisdom lynch. All of this before opportunistically sheeping onto my wagon.

Anyway I think for a townie the natural reaction to getting suddenly wagoned like that is to assume there's scum on their wagon and you're already working on finding said scum, so maybe im wrong here.

Well in Necro, there wound up being two wolves on my wagon, both of them were just sheeping and one of them in particular didn’t even bother giving a reason for it. That’s one of the reasons I excluded Moment as a possibility because if there’s a wolf on my wagon, it’s likely to be someone who is sheeping and probably opportunistic.
Wolves don’t usually push d1 wagons, due to the much greater chance to mislynch.

Possibly is a weak word and for good reason because I don’t like to use strong words unless I’m sure. I did feel more strongly that Brian, Moment or Kaede weren’t likely to be them and Kaede has already validated my reason for excluding her because her vote on me was a reaction test not opportunistic.

I was the most sus on Dunn because he had been aggressively scumreading others. What I am trying to reconcile is his “don’t overestimate us” comment with his vote still being on me. Why? With that statement he is clearly expressing doubt about his vote so him leaving it on me, would clearly be a contradiction.

It's a very confusing post.

However, if I break it down, I assume what Dunn intends to mean is that if Nancy is indeed town, that he doesn't really think town should be expected to realize that she could be a bad lynch and not mislynch her.

Her immediate reaction seems fine, as she questions the sentiment, especially if Nancy thinks Dunn admitted to thinking she's mislynch bait. The third question follows up on her suspicion. The big issue I have is the second question, because it has this weird conflict where she considers him to be town, and I don't know why it's there.

If by his statement he is actually doubting his vote, was my initial interpretation of his comment. I didn’t think of the way you interpreted it but in either case, his comment doesn’t look good on him if he doesn’t remove his vote. It seems like it could possibly viewed as possible fallback for when he anticipates me flipping town. You OTOH, did not do that. You see my point here? I think I may be right. Well, I can’t say you’re someone I can easily read but you don’t seem to have an agenda like you did in Necro with your Eevee push. I liked your quick defense on Kaede and the whole way you’ve interacted with me and your comments about people pushing me seem to come from a town perspective.

He doesn’t really seem all that different to me than he did in Necro. It seemed to me that his push on Kaede was based on history but it looks like he came around on that. Like I’d probably be far more likely to scumread Sugar in any future games I’d play with them.

This is probably not a good barometer but it reads well to me that no one in Necro suddenly jumped on my wagon. Dunnstral should also know my meta a bit and not have voted me but I liked his townreading Kaede. Meh.

Okay, so like, this wasn't me saying Kaede was scum jumping off of you because she's scum trying to avoid your wagon. Possible, but not what I was saying.

It was me giving an example of why, if she were scum, and you were actually town here (which I don't know and isn't even my current stance on you, which should be evidenced by me still voting you), that scum Kaede

Secondly, why does it matter if there's evidence in Kaede's iso on how she cares she looks? Scum do care how they look, and many town also care about how they look, but who cares? Yes, scum do sometimes blatantly push bad wagons, but not always, and some are more strategic in how they do it.

I strongly believe there was at least one wolf on my wagon and it wasn’t Brian or Kaede. Nos has somewhat redeemed himself and Dunnstral is townreading Kaede. I think moment is more likely to be town than Katsuke but I’m open to debate. I think I can cross off nos off of my wolf list. I don’t think scum does that much of a 180 as to list me as hardtown.

Dunnstral townreading Kaede makes me not want to vote there. So, it’s between Katsuki and Moment. Was scum pushing my wagon or sheeping it? Which do you think is more likely?

If they can let it happen without getting their hands dirty it works best for them

Therefore, someone objecting to your lynch doesnt mean they are town. Thats a fallacy created by your mind because you immediately think "what a nice person, they dont want to lynch me". But you have to look deeper

That’s not true. I can definitely see scum doing that. I just don’t see that in this case. What is his motivation? He couldn’t have had a crystal ball and have forseen that players would later strenuously object to my wagon. It would be a lot scummier if he just said I’d rather sort out Nancy d2 because it’s not really in his best interest to townread a likely mislynch.

In Necro, the initial players who most strenuously objected to my wagon were both villas: Eddie and Srcee and later, the worst. Generally the main reason for scum to do what you suggest is that they have an even better mislynch in the works but otherwise, not that likely based on my experience. Of course, I need to look at other factors but with it being extremely likely one of my votes coming from scum, I’d rather lynch there first. In Necro two of my votes came from scum. This has been the case in almost every single one of my wagons: one vote is almost guaranteed to be scum. So I have given a case for everyone on my wagon. As for Brian, his push reminds me of Ty’s. I don’t have any strong basis to townread either Katsuke or Moment. I can’t see voting Kaede, Brian or Nos and as I’ve already stated, Dunn hardtown reads Kaede. I see no reason to townread Katsuke. His ISO is garbage and he sheeped onto a bad wagon, so I’m good leaving my vote on him. I’m open to Moment because I remember Kokichi leading the Eevee wagon.

“Moonlogicking”? Well that’s up to you. I was the first one to figure out the zombie vote. However, I actually do have really good reads and arguments, once I really get into a game. I’m not allowed to elaborate about anything on MS but I have a solid rep on MU for being really good at nailing scum - which I have in the majority of games I’ve played on there. I never really got into Necromancer so you haven’t seen what I’m talking about. If I play enough games on here, I promise you will retract that belief.

Erm, I think it was actually after I voted Nancy and talked about why I considered her post to be a scumpost. Although even then, that still might be a conflation of correlation and causation. It may hold relevance in itself, but within the context of specifically coming after what you said about Nancy being obvious town, I don't think there's any particular relevance.

What are your thoughts on MuffinMan, Katsuki, Purrcocet and Brian Skies? I ask about these people specifically because having looked through your ISO I don't recall seeing a read on them, and I'm a little bit lost myself on how to read them at the moment.

Eh, I'm not so convinced, although I recognize that I may be harboring some element of bias or "wanting to be right". I think scum being pushed early on can quite easily get townread just by lashing out and through people getting cold feet; nothing Nancy has said so far has made me think "this is unlikely to come from scum getting wagoned after her first post".

I'm fine looking elsewhere for now for the sake of not getting tunnel vision, but certainly not for the rest of the game as some other people seem to be thinking; Nancy has definitely not become obvious town to me yet. The opposite, actually.

How do you figure that? And why are so quick to discount anyone who is familiar with my meta? Do you really think that they are all wearing blinders and you are the only one who sees the light? This post doesn’t read villagery to me at all. It sounds like you want to file me away as a possible mislynch for later. While Brian was asking lots of questions and honestly trying to sort me, this post strikes me as agenday. You aren’t even considering anyone’s arguments against this. This post doesn’t read villagery to me at all. It sounds like you want to file me away as a possible mislynch for later. While Brian was asking lots of questions and honestly trying to sort me, this post strikes me as agenday. You aren’t even considering anyone’s arguments against this. I’m getting really bad vibes from this post. It almost reads to me as if you have some investment in me being scum rather than caring about the truth. If I have misinterpreted your post, I’m sorry but the second part of your post read to me, like you were determined to hold on to a bad read and was planning to push me no matter what and that you had no interest or concern with taking in anyone’s feedback who had any familiarity with my meta. People who are obvtowning me based off of meta have damn good reasons for doing so because I usually don’t have good reads - especially scumreads on d1 but I am rarely comfortable early game because my head isn’t in the game. Human got it right when they said I have a “tenuous grasp” on the current gamestate. In Necro, I nearly got hammered in the span of under 2 hours only to be read as obvtown by d2. That isn’t an anomaly either. My reads on d1 are as Wisdom said, “surfacey” and unfortunately they didn’t improve much in that game until Idue to a specific mechanic, I wzs correctly able to deduce scum WIFOM. I’m not content with repeating that because I don’t play these games to coast. I want to solve the game like I have - at least in part - in at least 75% of the games I’ve played. I have a solid rep on MU for being “scarily accurate”. (a direct quote from an MU member) in at least correctly nailing one scum.

I know I shouldn’t beat myself up over this but I can’t help but be frustrated that I’m not doing better at figuring out this game. I don’t want to be in this game if I continue to suck but I think it’s far too early to give up hope yet. Wisdom’s post really affected my confidence but I hope to prove him wrong about my ability to solve this game. We’ll see.

I'm not particularly interested in bashing my skull against a wall and dragging the rest of our short time left in this day out in an extended discussion over how obviously town you are or aren't. I think that people are snap townreading your response to being pushed and, given time where you're not being pushed, either I will be proven wrong myself or those people who were townreading you will realize that it

Well in Necro, there wound up being two wolves on my wagon, both of them were just sheeping and one of them in particular didn’t even bother giving a reason for it. That’s one of the reasons I excluded Moment as a possibility because if there’s a wolf on my wagon, it’s likely to be someone who is sheeping and probably opportunistic.
Wolves don’t usually push d1 wagons, due to the much greater chance to mislynch.

Hi, no sorry I can’t as I have yet to rand scum. One thing I don’t understand, how is Brian scummier than moment? Moment seems to have an agenda whereas Brian does not. Moment basically pushed a wagon on me based on a post that Purr clearly recognized as NAI and then vowed to push my mislynch at some point later in the game. That read agenday and scummy to me. It was all in the way it was phrased that gave me scum vibes. Brian OTOH. seemed open to considering other points of view and his posts implied no agenda where I was concerned. It’s not unvilagary to place a bad vote, it’s unvillagery to vote or push a lynch with an agenda. While it’s certainly possible that scum was to be found in one of the people who suddenly jumped on my wagon, I was able to see towntells in everyone but Katsuke and moment. Kaede was obvious due to her vote being a reaction test rather than a vote. I’ve already explained Brian and moment. Nos did a 180 after he jumped off and hardtown read me. I liked Dunn’s hardtown reading Kaede, so that left those two. While Katsuke could definitely still be scum mainly because he voted me without giving a single reason, I got strong scumvibes from moment’s filing me away for later post. Something in the phrasing in the second portion of that post, just seemed off to me. What pinged was the sense that he was determined to push a wagon on me no matter what although he later backtracked on that.

i (obviously) disagree on nancy and i could explain this one (and may before the end of the day, maybe) but i don't have the energy to bother going into detail about that atm either. i could be wrong about this read; i don't currently think i am though and i think you're reading all the wrong things in her play (consider, for example, the strength of her reasoning and conviction behind her reads in the game you've played with her and compare it to anything she's done here). the only thing that _seems_ town (with emphasis on seems) is the AtE but i'm currently thinking that's a tactic she's using (and it's entirely different from the AtE she was using in that game you're referencing as meta). there's a _really_ obvious distinction that i noticed that i'm waiting to gather more data on before mentioning (it has to do with word choice, but i imagine you'll shrug it off as insignificant when you find out what it is, even though i don't think it is)

Who is Necromancer?

My last game on here, which I played with Wisdom, Koichina, Ginghie (Eddie Cane). Wisdom who was town in that game was one of two people pushing my mislynch and I would have been too, had Eddie not unvoted me before I could be hammered. On d2, everyone had me at locktown. The worst wanted to policy lynch me for being mislynchbait.

I don’t see why Wisdom is scum here. While I disagree with him on his “town don’t want to look town” here, he doesn’t seem to be any different here than in that game.

Looking at the votes on me, I dislike Dunnstral’s ISO the most. I think at least one of Dunn, Nos, Kat is possibly a wolf.

Well, she’s obviously wrong. I have never played with her before, so have no meta to work off of and why I still don’t understand her vote on me but based on her ISO, she doesn’t strike me as someone who’s vote on me is particularly likely to be opportunistic because the vast majority of her posts on here have been pretty extrnsive.

I hate mislynches, so I would rather sort someone like her out. That’s why I didn’t include in her in the most likely list of possible wolves on my wagon because I have no doubt that the scum vote(s) on me is most likely an opportunistic vote.

Dunn’s ISO seems to be full of weird posts, like demanding Grape self-vote (trying to hard to look town), Insisting, rather than speculating that Mastina’s claim has to be fake and aggressively pushing Wisdom lynch. All of this before opportunistically sheeping onto my wagon.

Possibly is a weak word and for good reason because I don’t like to use strong words unless I’m sure. I did feel more strongly that Brian, Moment or Kaede weren’t likely to be them and Kaede has already validated my reason for excluding her because her vote on me was a reaction test not opportunistic.

I was the most sus on Dunn because he had been aggressively scumreading others. What I am trying to reconcile is his “don’t overestimate us” comment with his vote still being on me. Why? With that statement he is clearly expressing doubt about his vote so him leaving it on me, would clearly be a contradiction.

It's a very confusing post.

However, if I break it down, I assume what Dunn intends to mean is that if Nancy is indeed town, that he doesn't really think town should be expected to realize that she could be a bad lynch and not mislynch her.

Her immediate reaction seems fine, as she questions the sentiment, especially if Nancy thinks Dunn admitted to thinking she's mislynch bait. The third question follows up on her suspicion. The big issue I have is the second question, because it has this weird conflict where she considers him to be town, and I don't know why it's there.

If by his statement he is actually doubting his vote, was my initial interpretation of his comment. I didn’t think of the way you interpreted it but in either case, his comment doesn’t look good on him if he doesn’t remove his vote. It seems like it could possibly viewed as possible fallback for when he anticipates me flipping town. You OTOH, did not do that. You see my point here? I think I may be right. Well, I can’t say you’re someone I can easily read but you don’t seem to have an agenda like you did in Necro with your Eevee push. I liked your quick defense on Kaede and the whole way you’ve interacted with me and your comments about people pushing me seem to come from a town perspective.

That’s not true. I can definitely see scum doing that. I just don’t see that in this case. What is his motivation? He couldn’t have had a crystal ball and have forseen that players would later strenuously object to my wagon. It would be a lot scummier if he just said I’d rather sort out Nancy d2 because it’s not really in his best interest to townread a likely mislynch.

In Necro, the initial players who most strenuously objected to my wagon were both villas: Eddie and Srcee and later, the worst. Generally the main reason for scum to do what you suggest is that they have an even better mislynch in the works but otherwise, not that likely based on my experience. Of course, I need to look at other factors but with it being extremely likely one of my votes coming from scum, I’d rather lynch there first. In Necro two of my votes came from scum. This has been the case in almost every single one of my wagons: one vote is almost guaranteed to be scum. So I have given a case for everyone on my wagon. As for Brian, his push reminds me of Ty’s. I don’t have any strong basis to townread either Katsuke or Moment. I can’t see voting Kaede, Brian or Nos and as I’ve already stated, Dunn hardtown reads Kaede. I see no reason to townread Katsuke. His ISO is garbage and he sheeped onto a bad wagon, so I’m good leaving my vote on him. I’m open to Moment because I remember Kokichi leading the Eevee wagon.

Well in Necro, there wound up being two wolves on my wagon, both of them were just sheeping and one of them in particular didn’t even bother giving a reason for it. That’s one of the reasons I excluded Moment as a possibility because if there’s a wolf on my wagon, it’s likely to be someone who is sheeping and probably opportunistic.
Wolves don’t usually push d1 wagons, due to the much greater chance to mislynch.

Hi, no sorry I can’t as I have yet to rand scum. One thing I don’t understand, how is Brian scummier than moment? Moment seems to have an agenda whereas Brian does not. Moment basically pushed a wagon on me based on a post that Purr clearly recognized as NAI and then vowed to push my mislynch at some point later in the game. That read agenday and scummy to me. It was all in the way it was phrased that gave me scum vibes. Brian OTOH. seemed open to considering other points of view and his posts implied no agenda where I was concerned. It’s not unvilagary to place a bad vote, it’s unvillagery to vote or push a lynch with an agenda. While it’s certainly possible that scum was to be found in one of the people who suddenly jumped on my wagon, I was able to see towntells in everyone but Katsuke and moment. Kaede was obvious due to her vote being a reaction test rather than a vote. I’ve already explained Brian and moment. Nos did a 180 after he jumped off and hardtown read me. I liked Dunn’s hardtown reading Kaede, so that left those two. While Katsuke could definitely still be scum mainly because he voted me without giving a single reason, I got strong scumvibes from moment’s filing me away for later post. Something in the phrasing in the second portion of that post, just seemed off to me. What pinged was the sense that he was determined to push a wagon on me no matter what although he later backtracked on that.

What is pinging me so hard about Kaede is the very opposite of the reason I initially townread her. I townread her because I really liked the reasons she had given about jumping on and off my wagon. You know RC? My first game with them they faked a cop guilty on actual scum, scum ended up NKing them but town won the game (i was town that game, but dont remember if i died or rep'd out). Sure they wont the game, but I dont think that's ethical, if you fake a guilty is because you're too low on ethics to get your target lynched in some way of form, I refuse to rely on such dirty tactics, specially because, even tho I can fake confidence, Im always scared due to a bit of doubt in my mind, and if im wrong I could single handlely cause a town loss due to misjudgement and arrogance. The end result, doesnt justify the means.

Yeah, I totally believe that she’s genuinely upset about this, it’s definitely not fake IMO. The underline is that, FakeGod has in fact used a role that has been present on several players but effective at different game days for each, hence seeing a D3 IC is not something outside what he would do, hence I asked that question. It is possible that Dunnstral either A) Doesn't know this, B) Is trying to throw shade at mastina or C) Does in fact have something to counter that statement. The question is to verify within which option does this fall.

Why would you die? My two strongest townreads and myself would rather lynch Kaede over Gingie. That’s pretty much all there is to it. I’m not sure how your death figures into this at all. How does a Kaede lynch even figure into this at all?

Something isn’t adding up. If Gingie is the only one who visited Muffin, then Nos could not possibly have visited him. If Nos visited him, then Katsuki has to be lying about the watcher.

I always mistrust speed lynches on principle, unless it is of course, close to deadline. I also remember that Muffin wasn’t scumreading you, so I find that questionable but even if true, Muffin was a vt, so he couldn’t possibly know your alignment.

I would feel better if this disparity between Nos’ account and Katsuki’s could be resolved. Brian’s Muffin turning over in his grave comment, especially had me lol.

So you think that Katsuki is bussing Gingie? What would be the motivation for that? There’s likely just 3 scum in a game and it’s only d2, so I think bussing is highly unlikely. This is almost 100% a gambit.

I believe Katsuki is well able to gambit as both alignments just based on my personality read of him.

Katsuki-town saw the Muffin kill and decided to fakeclaim a guilty in order to sheep his reads.
Katsuki-scum wanted to gambit to get free kills; this would mean that town overall was probably in a pretty good spot reads-wise despite the mislynch D1.

Plus, the role being claimed feels out of place in this setup.

You said that your watcher told you that only Gingie had visited Muffin and then Nos said that he visited Muffin as well but both of these things aren’t possible. I was originally trying to figure out which one of you was telling the truth and which one was lying. Obviously Gingie did visit Muffin as confirmed by his flip. But how are you and Nos mason budies with contradictory accounts of what happened regarding the night Muffin was baked? And now you’re mentioning Brian as well. Is one of you the watcher you referred to and didn’t you originally claim d5 IC?
