since this is an 11 page game I am optimistic this is not gonna be where the Bad Stuff is"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. How much, then, is this 'other world' worth to you? What do you have there that you do not have here? Money? Power? Something worth causing the prince so much pain for?'"
"Well, I..."
"What? Nothing? You would make the prince suffer over... nothing?"-

I hope someone pointed out that Gamma is humorously claiming scum because Sudowoodo is a pokemon that looks like a tree but is not a tree. And this occurs in Pokemon Emerald so it's rather noice

Historically speaking, we don't have very pleasant records of past games. Almost always something bad happens.
Pedit: I think our interaction is tvt.
I don't think I've ever called an interaction I'm participating in TvT, it's kind of stilted to use the XvY paradigm to view yourself, it seems like it's something you post to incept for other people to think of you as a T"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. I care very little about my winrate. I try to win each game but avoid tracking my winrate and don't feel bad about knowing in the aggregate that it is probably poorIn post 88, Menalque wrote:I only play in playerlists with loads of good players to get carried to victories and to keep my sweet, sweet win rate % high so I can continue to fool people into thinking I know what I'm doing muahahaha

i have queueing behavior that very frequently puts me in games with fun-to-play-with-players, which overlaps a lot with strong players

Not voting Pine here makes sense, not voting ConvictedTiger here serves some kind of agenda that I'd have to know the scumteam to understand. In post 203, Farren wrote:
Leaning Town on clidd and you. Gun to my head, I'd say Dunnstral and GuiltyLion for scum - but my D1 read quality tends to be utter garbage. At least in my last game, the scum were all hiding in the middle of my thoughts by the time D1 came to a close. People who were being active, but not *really* active - people who were participating, but not shining. Probably means I should be looking more at ... Gamma Emerald, Ydrasse, Morning Tweet. And I'm forgetting someone ... Pine. I'd put Pine in the bottom bucket. And I know why I'm doing that, and I hate it.In post 189, Menalque wrote:Farren, do you have any reads yet?
So: let Dunnstral and GuiltyLion percolate for the time being, poke them from time to time, work on the middle three. Wait for Pine to become more present.
VOTE: Morning Tweet
Going off of memory, Morning Tweet, you've made less of an impression on me than Gamma and Ydrasse, despite you scumreading me. Is that a me thing or a you thing, do you think?
I guess this is a Pine game so I guess I'll start collating
yarrrIn post 210, GuiltyLion wrote:
how do you think scum!Menalque would approach your slot, his thoughts about your meta have nothing to do with his alignment. this is a bs reason for a townread and I especially don't like that it comes right after he softened up on youIn post 194, clidd wrote:Personally, my town-lock on him is basically due to the depth of thought that he had about my meta, which sounded to me as extremely genuine.
VOTE: clidd
I kind of feel like the "i'm going to be chill this game" declaration is NAI because he probably thought about it before his role PM was opened, but I'm scumreading clidd off his play. I think he interacted with Mena in the way that would be agreeable to Mena and it worked, but now the slot is replaced, replacements suck for mafia, sad times.
This is getting into openwolf territoryIn post 219, clidd wrote:I don't think you're scum, but the way you seem to be reacting to me right now seems off in my opinion.
Gamma could you post "scum can experience genuine frustration" plsIn post 231, Morning Tweet wrote:Clidd I believe has a higher chance of being town from the way he's responding to Mena/GL -- I'm near certain he's genuinely frustrated (177), his reads remind me of previous games with him..
Maybe MT's take on that vote is more accurate, experiencing it in realtime instead of catchup. PossiblyIn post 233, Morning Tweet wrote:FWIW i do like how you're using your vote to sort me rather than vote Dunn or GL (who hadn't had recent posts at the time) + you scumread them but feel scum is more likely to be someone you're missing in the middle. Does seem to imply you're actually trying to vote who has the highest chance of being scum, if that makes sense.
Well, yeah :/In post 239, Menalque wrote:
Hoooo boy are you about to be disappointedIn post 201, Farren wrote:If nothing else, that Rising Star badge tells me you're more likely to fall towards the skilled end of things
There's just this repeated theme of clidd posting things that seem like poor sketches town thought patterns that are actually unlikely for me to think in that way as town.In post 249, clidd wrote:Morning is interpreting my behavior correctly.
So she is very good at reading me or has information about my alignment (scum). But I am more inclined to the town side, considering that her posts in general are giving me a good feeling by tone (no, I will not do a dissertation to explain why).
This post is actually a logical failing that may be scum indicative. MT posted analysis of clidd's behavior, not just a summary of clidd's alignment; he's conflating the two.
If you give me 3x+4=28, and I say "it's eight", you can say Isis knows prealgebra, or she has an answer key. If I say
3x+4-4=28-4
3x=24
3x/3=24/3
x=8
You don't say "Isis either knows prealgebra or has an answer key". It's demonstrated I know prealgebra whether or not I have an answer key.
If clidd read Tweet's reasoning and the analysis was sound he should be able to say Tweet is good at reading him, unqualified. He's sprinkling "unless they're scum" into his posting as one often does as scum and has managed to do it gratuitously here."Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. How much, then, is this 'other world' worth to you? What do you have there that you do not have here? Money? Power? Something worth causing the prince so much pain for?'"

I'm pretty sure Menalque got banned for lashing out at a player who replaced into his game while blacklisted ontop of nasty posts from the original game that generated the grudge. Both completed games. The mods take a long time to settle on stuff.
Six week signup ban would have been better than two week mafia ban, it kind of sucks to punish the bystanders in games that get their integrity disrupted."Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. It's a general tell.
The greater availability of correctness in math doesn't seem important to the analogy, but if I tried to make it important I would observe that mafia's fuzziness means that Tweet can just blindly guess that clidd is town and guess right, which makes the dichotomy between "really analyzed that line that I know she analyzed because she explained it in thread or doesn't understand anything and used her red role PM" an even worse dichotomy for not having an entry for blind guessing.
So why did you think the fuzziness of mafia has the opposite effect here?"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. How much, then, is this 'other world' worth to you? What do you have there that you do not have here? Money? Power? Something worth causing the prince so much pain for?'"

You are like, agreeing with meIn post 317, Farren wrote:It's possible for scum to analyze as well. They have the advantage of knowing what the correct conclusions are in advance - but that doesn't mean they can't walk through the same steps to try to give credence to their agenda.
That is why it is so unnatural for clidd to say if Tweet is scum she isn't analyzing. Scum can still analyze. It'd be analysis either way."Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. It's a bit plausible that it'd give Pine license to whine about postcount, moreso than it's plausible that third parties would count Menalque's posts and chastise him."Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. How much, then, is this 'other world' worth to you? What do you have there that you do not have here? Money? Power? Something worth causing the prince so much pain for?'"
"Well, I..."
"What? Nothing? You would make the prince suffer over... nothing?"-

This is probably scum indicative but not Huge I thinkIn post 375, GuiltyLion wrote:^this is a good question, I didn't mind tea's comments on it in the catchup but repeating it in 370 doesn't really feel like a meaningful or useful push"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. GL I'm not finding where ydrasse talked about her read, is the pop-in being complained about several pages ago?"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. Scum are more likely than town to talk about something that seems like mafia but doesn't actually have any bearing on the scum's alignments. It serves the purposes of participation quota without more difficult alignment spewy topics tackled"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. I found the ydrasse pop-in thing. I don't think answering a direct question and not gibbing a current events snapshot is that indicting? I don't see how it's scum indicative in a way very distinct from participation and volume in general being town indicative"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. It's not altogether wrong to try to get Pine back in the game, but he was approaching it in a manner that was as if clidd knew Pine was town, yeah.In post 419, Farren wrote:
My first reaction here was that you and I have very different ideas of what constitutes scumminess. I interpret that as a means of trying to prod Pine back into the game. But I think I see your angle here - is it seeing knowledge of Town|Pine? In post 324, Isis wrote:I mean if I'm eating a red herring once or even twice, I still thing clidd's entire post record here is all sorts of bad pings. Up to and including wanting Pine's help solving rather than like wanting Pine to move off truenull since he still hasn't participated in the game yet
"I want to know what you think of things" or other phrasings are more organic for a slot that should be poe'd towards scum rather than town based on the quality of the active posting"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. How much, then, is this 'other world' worth to you? What do you have there that you do not have here? Money? Power? Something worth causing the prince so much pain for?'"

I mean if you think it's a forged townslip you need to murder it, I still think the slot is scummy. I bought into it. But maybe I shouldn't.
For some reason I feel like 342 is a scummy post if it's not catching scum but I don't feel very able to articulate why.
Probably how it's such a stinging accusation so gently worded?
Which might be a tweet thing and have to do with me scumreading her every game, but it might not have to do with that, what can I do about it."Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. as a life principle when someone validates my reason for scumreading them I say "thanks for the help". It's too often the case that doing the to placate is easier than refutation. In post 431, GuiltyLion wrote:
what do you all make of these two townreads thenIn post 355, tea leaves wrote:Isis resonated some feelings of Treeness when she reacted to my entrance so I like her already because she seemed honestly frustrated at her scumread maybe being wrong. MT asking me about slipping on being a Tree also seemed like a good question
I guess I can imagine scum faking a townslip and then buddying both their accuser and defender, but it feels like a narrow path to take as scum here
does scum admit that being pressed on their fake townslip is a good question?
in specific circumstances I would find validating a scumread reason unlikely but I don't see anything in this situation that makes me want to move away from my rule of thumb"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. it's actually the weighted average of 0*(chance they read the setup) and 100*(chance they didn't read the setup) unless the scum role PM or scum PT is pretty explicit about the weird sample role PM where you are a tree and not a personIn post 435, GuiltyLion wrote:yeah Farren's right, especially given tea saying that they were trying to claim townie.
