And I somewhat disagree. The site and its meta has changed an awful lot in the last 5 years.
One of the great things about this site though it the long-standing members of the community that are still not only around but active! They're probably why we have held onto some older traditions though. And I'm okay with that if it keeps us a little more mature than some other sites.

K cool Superbowl can be towny for now. There are a few of their posts that really drive home a town sentiment and I am inclined to believe it is genuine at this juncture.

Chaos Triforce is a legit scum possibility.

They use AtE, they're like 80% fluff which can be fine with a lower postcount but as second highest (holy shit, DT beat them out) it just makes them impossible.
Their OMGUS on Gamma is scummy and they divert conversation from actual reads a lot in various ways.
Their tone also has a certain :AMIST to it as well as their acknowledgement that they are tunneled while doubling down on it. It just all feels wrong.

Going to try and do the other two Isos (Fucking DT and Guillo who fill out the top 3 for postcount and are half of the posts in the came if combined. Give it a rest guys!) but I think I might vote here after it's all done.

As a response to your actual post there, I have 2 answers I suppose.

First, I don't think you are okay with "any miselim" but your push for "anyone but me" (which is what "just let me survive to D2" means) is meh and your personal survival should not trump town's survival. This can very easily be scummy, and if it is not, I think you need to reevaluate your gameplay a bit. Because I mean, everyone wants to live another day. Play in a way that makes us want to have you around another day.

Second, despite DT calling a townblock, I think those things are very dangerous and am willing to reevaluate a read on any one of the people supposedly in it. Townblocks are notoriously easy to infiltrate and I don't put a lot of stock into them unless they provide solid results reliably. I don't think you have to worry as much there.

I guess there's a third thing which is you going against the grain a bit. And I guess that's a valid argument as less likely to come from scum. But I'm not sold and it alone isn't enough to change my read.

1408 isn't a scummy post, but it is wrong on a few major points and while it's obvious it's playstyle differences, SuperBowl is definitely the oitlier.

Superbowl is trying to win the war without fighting any battles. He doesn't want to argue the small stuff because if it doesn't fit into the bigger picture he doesn't see the point.
This assunes scum come into the game with an overarching plan and that their posts will all work towards that endgoal. But that's not how it works. Scum respond to things, sometimes in a scummy manner. Scum push their endgoal, sure, but often badly or opportunisticly. Superbowl tried to AtE me off of him earlier using the reason that he was hurt I thought so little of his scumgame as to scum read him here. That is not the case.

As well, he is painting it as me coming to a conclusion then finding points to support it. That's literally not how it happened though??
I called him town inthread, but as I read on, I noticed scummy posts and positions and pointed them out.

I thought me asking how everyone knew there was a vig was quite a soft. It implies that I know there is vig but didn't know everyone else did.

Not really easy to explain. My feeling is, may be loud, annoying, distracting, but that doesn't necessarily add up to scummy, even if his case is bad I don't think it's a rabbit hole scum goes down. I also agree with battle mage in that I don't expect scum to pursue a loud, high-impact approach to the game on day 1 in this setup.

I sort of like the progression in Catboi's ISO, as it has the vibe of genuine solving. But it's also pretty cagey and not throwing a lot of shade.

That's a tricky one to me, I sped through the thread yesterday and my thoughts are a little disorganized. I disliked chaos the most as I felt their posting lacked substance, and their avoidance of actually reading into the thomas/superbowl fight shows a lack of willingness to sort, their main pushes have just been retaliatory toward pob long and gamma, and I didn't really care for their attack on gamma. Had been suspicious of johnny and how he was staying in the background but is seeming a little bit more town. I haven't really cared for anything superbowl has said, when I subbed in the slapfight with DT looked ego-based but he mostly seems keen on voting people for being annoying rather than finding scumreads? Taylor's another one who's been active but not providing much substance.

I see your vote on pob long, but I actually got very slight townvibes from what he posted, at the start of the game people were mostly fluffing around and he came in early with a serious accusation. Not impossible to fake, but absent anything else to read him on, that's town points. That puts him slightly ahead of Aristophanes in my mind, who didn't say much of anything.

This interaction between BM and Catboi seems a little staged almost. I mean, it wasn't supposed to be an option when I did it but I had prior modding experience offsite and with this same setup too so they let it pass.
