fwiw (if u even care...) i think these are the two most notable posts of rvs and the part that makes the interaction feel weird to me

i think black's mindset in the interaction makes sense generally but is also like very rote and expected

i think in the coalition game one of the things that i found towny about you (disclaimer that i don't know if i actually did townread you for it in game but in hindsight it is one of the things that sticks out in memory as towny) was i guess a sort of unabashed being towny in your own way sort of vibe. like for example, how you didn't really even have a scumread for quite a while to start the game. but you also didn't feel like you cared about needing to

the model i was working with was of a scum!tris who is trying to appear towny and is self-conscious and aware about the ways that she isn't always succeeding at doing so. i felt like this mindset was leaking into her posts and actions a bit

so when i called this out, i thought that if my model was correct, scum!tris would already be aware of the thing i was calling out (by definition) and may be quick to explain it away or appease or something like that. my expectation was that i would be met with that type of smooth and clean response and i was ready to read it and try to judge if it felt more like a scum one or a town one. instead the confusion was a little jarring

her initial response being what i read as slightly snarky toned posts that felt like to me they clearly didn't understand what i was getting at (and then further elaboration that made it more clear she didn't see what i was seeing in her own posts) i think shows that my model of what her potential scum mindset would be was wrong

i think that black's read mostly comes down to "jupiter did x and y when i was scum with him, and he's doing it again, so he's scum again". it's the kind of push i make as scum a lot because it's factually true and it's easy to make an impassioned case for it but it's ignoring that the player could just be doing it as town

i guess now that i think about it im not really sure why im townreading black. i would probably expect her to think about her push more critically as town and be digging in to try to sort more. i sort of expected that she was pushing for pressure while doing that evaluation behind the curtain but i don't know if there's really signs of that being true

ok i got distracted because i remembered another thing which is that this early type of casing felt really forced and i dont think this game it's felt like he's been pressuring himself to come up with like this type of substantial case in order to justify scumreading people

Spoiler: from another game

OutWorld is currently one of the towniest players atm to me. I think their initial posts were a good way of getting content out and while their reads weren't especially substantial at first— since they

were

vibereads— I would say they were attempting to spark discussion in a manner that reads as town-aligned . On top of that, they seem to have been generally consistent with their thought progression. It feels very natural and their reads seem genuine. I also like their push on shadow, and I find myself mindmelding with them. All of their posts seem to have a decent amoutn of thought put into them as well, and that is why I strongly townread OutWorld.

The player I scumread the most at the moment is a tie between Titus and Shadow. I talked about Shadow earlier so I'll talk about Titus now. I read through their posts and they haven't done much at all. I think the only thing that's substantial about anything they've said is that one vote on Kurtapika. I think I also questioned them about this vote and they didn't actually answer so idk if it got lost in the wall or not but generally I would like to see more stuff from this slot. It's just generally inactive, not doing much. And there's a lot to be talking about so this much idle activity is a little bit disconcerting to me. Obviously the posts are same but I'm getting different vibes from Black in her scumgame and black here. Like it's same kind of content being pushed out but this Black seems more contributive and generally more towny while that Black is a bit more argumentative and blunt.

i did look at the early game and didn't find any instances of what i described in 876

dann i started to townread more when he turned on me but i kinda expected it to end with a "yeah sorry guys that was a reaction test" and the last page made me concerned that it could be a scum thing to do. i think im landing on still unresolved and id like to see what he has to say. i do agree with him on most of his reads besides the one on me

scum!Dann OMGUS votes me because surely scum wouldn't OMGUS vote me here. If Dann is scum and Jupiter is town then Dann is trying to pocket him. If they are both scum then Dann is locking in his Jupiter read so he doesn't have to even consider pushing him later, keeping Jupiter relatively safe
