I will confirm this happened, and I agree that both should just compleltely ignore each other. Like, COMPLETELY. If/when you encounter each other on the server, pretend like you don't see the other.

I suggest that if EITHER party kills the other at any point, they are permanently banned from the server. Like, even if one kills the other and then that person get's a "revenge kill," then they are both banned. No exceptions. This is outrageous.

As I post this, it is 8:13pm on the 18th of September.

I finished one of the spectator's boxes just now. It's fairly simple; I don't know if you wanted something more complex but it allows full view of the arena, so that's nice. Lighting is my only concern, but I think it's lit up well enough.

I'm going to do homework for an hour or so and then do the other one. It feels good having a project to work on.

PUMPKIN PALOOZA FESTIVAL AND CONTEST

Sponsored by Empress Chevre

The task is simple. Build a super-cool Halloween/autumn display! Whether you want to present a happy harvest hoohah, or a horrific haunted house, the choice is yours! Be festive! Be creative! Have fun!

Rules:

- You have almost all of October to build your display. You may place it wherever you wish, as long as it is fairly easy to access and doesn't encroach on someone else's space.
- When finished, PM me the coordinates and I will write them down for when I judge. Like I said above, the easier it is to get to, the easier it will be for me to judge. If you know my Minecraft play, I'm not very good at getting around.
- Starting on Monday the 29th, I will begin judging. I will judge on adherence to the theme of Halloween and fall and how you mix it with MafiaScum/Minecraft, creative use of supplies, and general aesthetic beauty. The three best displays will get prizes, as listed below:

First Place:

a Super Pumpkin Palooza Pack, filled with jack-o-lanterns, pumpkins, wheat, cookies, and (if released in time) pumpkin pie! Oh, and maybe a few diamonds

Plus, a celebratory plaque to be placed in front of your abode.

Second Place:

a Pumpkin Palooza Pack, with some jack-o-lanterns, pumpkins, wheat, and maybe a pumpkin pie or two. Plus, a sign that says you got second place.

Third Place:

a few pumpkins and a jack-o-lantern, plus a sign that says you got third place.

A few tips and guidelines:

- Don't make it huge. from my really basic testing I did yesterday, you can only see about fifteen blocks wide, so I'm suggesting a 15x15x15 limit. Of course, you can build bigger, but I'd much prefer a display which I can get a view at least most of it without moving around too much.
- Design from all sides! In Minecraft, you have stuff approaching from you left and right, behind you and in front of you. Take into account all views. Of course, one side will probably be the prettiest, but that doesn't mean all the other sides have to be the ugliest.

Also I got in this huge group of like 7 in portsmouth and by the time we made it to camp bell there were 2.

Maru: minez is a game where the only enemies are modded zombies and other players. You can craft very few things, so you have to loot the various villages for items, or kill other players. The goal is to survive for as long as you can and get to the north where the better items are. Be prepared to die a lot.

There a lot of other significant changes so id definitely read a little of what's on the official site.

It'd be great if we could somehow get a mafiascum minez server, but I don't believe that is possible.

Maestro, the Mo Creatures I'm thinking of doesn't actually put any more mobs in, it just adds a variety of skins for the current mobs so they don't all look alike.

Maybe I didn't look at it thoroughly enough, but the one problem I have is the enchanting. Personally, I think anyone who would be able to give themselves that power is going to indulge a little.

It's really great of you guys to confess, and it shows how great our community is. From what I see it isn't too terrible (Like if Pizza wasn't Xalxe's brother, I'd guess that would be a little sketchy), and you decided to tell us. MafiaScum is lucky to have a server where there aren't any crazy "pay to mine this diamond" schemes or ranks of any sort. Except for that blip of the chest thievery earlier this year (NEVER FORGET) and chesskid's hijinx, we've done pretty well.

I would volunteer to be OP, but a) I am unavailable quite often, b) I think I would be like "oh if I fly for just like 10 secs no one will know or care," and c) I really don't have the knowledge I think to do it.

I don't know how other's will react, but I'm pretty okay with this, just don't ever ever ever cheat again, okay?

P.S. I was really disappointed when this wasn't a solution to the chest thieveries. Even though I wasn't affected, I'm just really hung up on that. ;P

PEDIT: Obviously it looks like I'm really naive and this is getting kind of messy. A shame really

The features I would like to see stay:

/home
/warp spawntown, vineland, skytown, and I plead for an additional one to honeyopolis. those seem to be the four big metropolises of our server.
I think the /tpa and /tphere ones are good too; there has been many a time when someone has wanted to show me something and those were quite useful.

Personally, I don't see the kerfluffle about these. If people really didn't want them, they wouldn't use them. These commands have been so useful to me, as I am honestly much poorer at this game than most of y'all and without them, I would've probably not built the meager things I have managed to do.

The single-chunk regeneration plan seems like a good one, if everybody agrees on whatever chunk we choose.

I finally got a new skin! Made it myself!

Also I've been trying to play a single-player world, but after about ~3 (non consecutive) hours of play, I find myself bored. Maybe it was because spawned in a jungle biome, which is my least favorite place to spawn, but what are some tips to spice up my game? I've been contemplating mods, so any good mods that aren't horribly complex would be fun to suggest as well.

I feel like a lot of the biomes in EBXL are useless. But I don't know, I'll give it another looksee.

The other two I haven't checked out, but I'll do it right now...

Metallurgy seems like a bit of the sort of variety I'm looking for.

Tropicraft seems a little floozy and specific.

Ideally I'd probably do Mo' Creatures, Elemental Creepers, Metallurgy, and possibly EXBL, but these'll probably have conflicts. Also, if I want to play on the server, I don't have to uninstall all these do I? That's a stupid question, isn't it?

I became Empress of the Server. I collect taxes on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

I held a Pumpkin Palooza decoration contest. Maestro, as the only entrant, won.

There is currently a Holiday themed decoration contest hosted by Maestro.

Klazam got five million beacons and the wealth gap only became wider

The walls of Spawntown expanded to the west to create West Spawntown, of which I am the only resident.

Reck and Grimm were here for a bit but then they left.

There was a Spleef Tournament which someone won. Also I added viewing boxes to the arena.

Dynmap was added and it is the greatest thing since sliced cheese.

If I remember correctly, the reason the hullabaloo started was because of Maru's public reveal of the OP's abuses of power. I don't recall anyone complaining about how /warp and /home and /tp were no good prior to that. Nor was there much about power abuse in the first place.

The question is--do we want a vanilla experience? these minor things have made the server so much more accessible to me as a mediocre player. We're at a point where everyone is so supplied and advanced in the game that I'm one of the few people who actually "dies" in game. The server has killed the Enderdragon at least twice. Many a Wither has been killed and many a beacon has been made. Most players are either exploring new lands to pretty much needlessly add to their surplus of supplies, or taking up creative endeavors. When a new update is released, we generate new chunks of land if necessary to reap the benefits, play about with the new features for a bit, then move on.

I feel as though this commandless experience is something the players of this server truly do not want.

Please do not full reset. Regeneration of unused chunks is totally good enough. Especially on this update, of all updates. Plus, saying that other people will get "rich" is not true. You get what you put into the game. If you wanted to be rich now, it's not hard.

My structures are nothing fancy but I do like them.

You guys know I have not strayed too far away from Spawntown. I mine within 1000 blocks of the origin, at level 11 where ores are most prolific, and only occasionally do I run into other mineshafts. Sure I guess if you want Emerald ore, but a) It's super rare, b) emerald ore itself isn't terribly pretty in my opinion, and c) don't we have some for sale right now?

Don't say there aren't nice places to build either. There is plenty of blank land within 1000 blocks. It wasn't too hard at all. for me to find a new site for a house.

I don't mean to single out Klazam, but look at his play so far. He has been a member of this server much less than me and look at all the niceties he has. Honeyopolis and Ourathanos are amazing, because he put TIME into it. A regenerate is not going to make all the community members magically rolling in the diamonds. It's going to reward people like Maru and Klazam who are passionate about this game, while setting more minor players who only a play a little at a time back. I'm not saying any of this is a bad thing; such is the nature of the game and I like that.

I don't know what this seniority thing means, by the way. Like it has been said, time in the community is not an accurate measurement of "worth" to the community. me and jmj are two of the oldest community members, but I know many others are on more than me and I rarely see jmj online when I'm online.

Hiraki has a point about SpawnTown. Remember that huge "West Spawntown we created? I believe the only things built there are my small bungalow and Klazam's entry in Maestro's christmas contest. I guess since it used to be a forest it's a nice place to find wolves to tame? Everytime I've been in SpawnTown recently I haven't seen a soul.

Ultimately what IS wrong with leaving things as they are? I want people with issues about the status quo to speak up.

Okay, so you want a fresh start because going to a faraway land still leaves the temptation of all the shiny toys you created in the last go around. I guess I can see that, but it must be an individual thing, because I'm fairly sure I could do it on the server (I haven't tried though, so :/). I don't know what to tell you though; in my case, I am still significantly less advanced than you and Maestro and Klazam, somewhat due to skill but mostly due to time played. A full regeneration is going to reward those who play, as I've said before, and in a year so, we'll be having this same debate with likely the same people on the same sides. That's just the way the game goes.

However, I fail to find another solution for you. SSP? You don't have the community. I mean I've been having fun on a SSP map but I'm fairly reclusive on the server anyway. Destroy everything you have, thus ensuring a fresh start? I loathe that; if I were in your position, once I'd accomplished a lot in the fresh lands, I would want to go back and see how I've changed, and nostalge.

I don't like this voting block thing. It's needlessly schism-ing the community even more. Maruchan has said he doesn't plan on doing anything yet. I just want to state why I don't want to regen fully and why other people do. I think we've got all the information out of this that is necessary and more. Obviously we aren't changing at this update.

I will probably be more open to regeneration when, like Maestro said, there is a large change in the world regeneration, but I'll have to see what's happening first before I decide. This might be hypocritical, but what are planning to do with the new features the update will bring? Like yes I get there are solar panels and such but how do you plan to utilize these? I don't think there is any functioning redstone mechanics in my house so I'm wondering what y'all are so excited about.

My computer is going nutty mccraycray when I try to play FTB. Like I timed out the first time, then I restarted it and got on, but no wood blocks appeared after I punched a tree, so I logged out logged in, and they were in my inventory, but after I built a workbench and placed it, I couldn't use it. I dunno, maybe my computer isn't good enough.

I think my problem on the server was that it resets your video settings; I might get back on later to see if it's any better.

Anyway, if only there were some sort of nether-nether that allowed you to move 8 meters in the nether for every 1 meter in the nethernether and thus enabled faster transportation!

Minecraft is so amazing. You have the original, witch is all sorts of fun, then you have modded things like FTB MindCrack, which is pretty amazing, and now as I'm catching up on YouTube videos I'm watching Nova play with a different set of mods which is super cool as well.

That's not really a discussion for the general playerbase to have, I think. It's for Maruchan and those he trusts to decide a) whether or not they need to give more people such a command, and if so, b) who of the players can be trusted to have that command.
