This is a player who has played mafia for 20 years. Does it make sense for them as town to have their entire interpretation of the game based on a single point of failure?

Pooky knows the pitfalls. They’re deliberately slow walking their progression on other players. Cabd and others have identified that scum pooky tends to be a bit lazier as scum. I think their play here fits that.

They know better. To note, I’ve had like 3 1v1’s with Pooky where we both just kept going back and forth and back and forth for hours. It stresses me out, it stresses Pooky out. Neither of us are very good at not having the last word.

The only reason I’m not going after Pooky is because I know it just takes a lot to get them killed and I don’t think this town really has the stomach to kill Pooky day one and I don’t see the appeal of accelerating my own elimination so that I can pursue Pooky as a stump. Though make no mistake. I am going to do that lol. I know Pooky is looking forward to that. That’s part of the reason I think Pooky isn’t spamming the game as much as they could to kill me earlier. Because they’d be discredited and a 1 for 1 trade isn’t optimal.

Fair, 4 years ago. I had a massive personal shift. You've seen me well since then. Even then, there's still plenty of content there.

Anyway, if slipping that you know someone's town when you shouldn't is a perspective slip, and the quoted posts are the ones where Bell perspective slipped i'm not putting much stock into it, from personal experience i've made similar posts multiple times as town in the past, it comes from a mindset of assuming good faith with another player thinking it's possible they are town and wrong.

The reason i voted Pooky was because his posting early in the game and then the tunneling came from a mindset of assigning Bell the alignment 'Scum' and then finding evidence to fit it, Pooky having a shock at Harmony and disengaging from the tunnel leads me to believe that he was just probably just tunneling and not scum trying to miselim the "hard to miselim Town-Bell", the fact that i thought Firepup was TMI'ing Town-Bell at the time Pooky engaged to try to eliminate Bell didn't help matters either.

I haven't played with Pooky outside of his Hydra on Anything Upick, and that time he didnt tunnel anyone as far as i remember, and was pretty fun to play with and kept forming reads, so I figured this change in attitude meant a different alignment.

Anyway, my next bet for potential scum.

I wanted to comment on this post because it kind of veers into something I enjoy about mafia. get ready for pop psychology.

1. This interaction with Lemon and Titus, I think points toward Town Lemon, I know I already town read them and there are other things that point that way that are, I think more objectively accurate, i.e., the claim out of nowhere. However, forgive my abstraction, I'm not a wordsmith.

Do you know that precipice you sit at when making a decision?
Like, when we're deciding whether someone is town or scum there's that point where we aren't sure. Some, or rather I think most players use a gradient in their heads where they lean toward or make multiple decisions about a players actions, kind of evidence building or confirmation bias what have you. But there's an underlying anxiety or instability when in that space before making that decision of whether to lean town or scum on this or that post. I think that their read of Titus leaning into town is because of that destabilization and that need to get out of that anxiety space by creating something more stable. They forced a decision to get out of that space, but I don't think they'd have that anxiety here if they were scum. I don't think they would feel put upon to justify or make meaning out of something they spent time on an interaction on with that, on careful examination didn't say much.

I can’t tell if Dunn was serious with their early push on Ircher. I’m not complaining, but I can never read that guy.

I was serious, I think Ircher was being weird.

My experience with Ircher is that they’re always weird. They were remarkably atonal at the beginning of the game though. The voice sounded the exact same throughout it was guileless, which isn’t Ircher. Who is full of guile.

They Rand released their role, seem pretty engaged in the game, have relatively novel takes and seem to be trying to be town clever and not scum clever. I can’t correct for their idiosyncrasies since it’s first game with them, but for me their angles and trajectories are all wrong for scum.

I town read those posts by joyboy too. Mostly because they were tasting the air unprompted in a way, that from my perspective, is something that would cause the scum team anxiety. It was intended to make it look like i accidentally posted something that was intended for the hood in the main thread so he could reflect scum actions back at them, at least that was the intended plan. Then after light said he had a gun, he indeed claimed to have a gun, then activated his reflector ability and said it'd last until the end of the night. Eh, it depends on the mod, some mods just say "your target" to keep it ambiguous about redirection. However if Hu Tao is scum and used a real day cop Hu Tao must be very confused and still led with it.

I don't like Hu Tao's current way of posting.
Goes from "I'm being scumread for redirections" to "I'm being scumread for asking questions" then fake claims a guilty and now "I'm being scumread for fake claiming". Feels weird.
