I only paid attention to the "intent to hammer" part, i have no idea what the actual vote count is.

Usually when someone declares intent it is an invitation to claim. Removing your vote makes the subject no longer @L-1 and thus is not required to claim.

It doesn't need to wait to post-game, as it doesn't hurt the town to explain it: We have a Gunsmith claim. When the Town has a Gunsmith there's almost always a Town Vig in play (false positive), and Scum are likely to have a Doctor (false negative). Also this is confirmed to be a 16-5 setup with no 3P (i.e. no SK), so 1 elimination a day + 1 kill a night will make it last for 6 months or so. To speed it up; Town has to have killing roles too (they are almost always going to shoot Town.. except if they shoot Nero )

With that gone, a lot of hints are either baiting for an NK by VT or actual PR's.

Give me a read list with 1-2 sentences reasoning to each read. Let's see how you (assuming you're town) have recognized other townies.

One of the things that bug me is someone asking "Why are you TRing X?", and especially so on D1 or at the start of D2. Be patient and take a hint.

This is a Large Normal. There could be a pair or even a triplet of Masons. You do NOT want to expose your Masons so early. On D2 you could be asking a Cop to explain why they TR the person they had checked on N1. Also, the person you're asking may have caught a crumb and it's extremely anti-town to ask them to explain their TR, because they either out the crumb they saw (that Scum may have missed) or they choose not to and become suspicious themselves in your eyes 9and scum would be very happy with either of the two).

Shall I go on? I feel like some of you may now think I am indeed an arrogant person, when all I want is for us all to "up the level of the game we play". Poor Town play doesn't even benefit Scum players on the long run. If I keep playing against weak players I can't improve my skills. If I'm Town playing weak scum I won't be able to scum hunt better, and if I'm scum playing weak town I won't learn to blend in or PR hunt.. etc.

Playing to win means I should vote the person I SR the most, but sometimes the second most if my top SR is too hard to get. (For an example, I refer you to the Large Theme in the 2020 tournament. I wanted Flavor Leaf, but I tackled Baker because I knew pushing FL was a pain in the neck. It wasn't until FL obv!Scummed enough that I revealed my plan -that I had discussed in private with Ank- and I saw an opportunity to take him down). Anyway, read that game when/if you have the time to learn more about my play style.

Parking my vote on my top SR -at the time- also makes sense since that was the largest wagon on someone I wanted to flip. Why would I even consider switching my vote target when I am on someone (a) I want to flip, and (b) is the leading wagon??

As I explained, a basic read list could very much be distracting if I am the D1 elimination. Some scum may use it to push other miseliminations, and some TOWN may fall into that trap too.

But -more importantly- why would I want SCUM to know where my head's at? Why would i want them to know how close/far I am with my reads? Why would I want them to guess who I'm likely to check (if I'm an investigative), protect (if I'm a protective) or shoot (if I'm a Vig)? What if I'm something else? Like, what if I'm Vengeful? Why tell them whom I'm likely to Vengekill?

Which brings me back to the self-hammer issue: How do you know I am not Vengeful and would self-hammer to vengekill someone in particular? How do you know I am not a Super Saint and would want to self-hammer to avoid having a TPR getting killed because they decided to hammer in the last couple of hours?

To sum it up: You don't know mu role, and you don't know what I'm thinking. You have little info to call my play anti-town.

Also, Nero is indeed more lurky as scum in my experience, but it's been ages since I last played scum!him.

This now puts me in quite a situation where I do not really have a confident SR, and need to effort by rereading the whole game, which is something I do NOT wish to do today (as in ON D1 of the game). This probably means I will either sheep some good case, sheep a player I hard TR, or fall back from the scene to watch from the sidelines and see what happens.

TBH, at the start of my catch up I had the intention to give my all to impress SJReaver more. She seems to have given me more credit that I deserve and it gave me a boost (if someone's not following I refer them to post #38).

However, as I kept reading I realized there's no way I'm going to match my performance in that game here. Not even close. Over there I had multiple flips and many players I was familiar with. Here I have at least 9 players I've never played with before, and only 5 that I have played more than twice with (make that 6 if you count Ydrasse's predecessors).

Furthermore, SJR replacing out killed the main motive I had to go all in. It' unlikely that I would impress someone like Norwee for instance ( )

Finally, it becomes harder and harder to format the listing if "every possible team" with 5/19 (myself and offsuit are auto-excluded already), so I decided to do it another way, so I am mainly townhunting unless something jumps out at me as an obvious scum move.

Anyway, off to work:

Nero is "probably town" but only because I know Nero. His content is as scummy as always. One example is taking advantage of superbowl's garammatical mistake (not using a separator after "Disagree" in post 45 and clipping out the second sentence (which made it clear what SB was saying was the opposite of what Nero nade it look like he was saying). (This also happened from NPOM with Looter in post 67 right above Nero's)

I don’t see why he’d immediately post his result, he might even be checking if his target is PR or scum yet.

Posting, but not saying he had a positive, is pretty anti-town. The information only helps us. Even if he decides to wait until the person receiving decides to proactively speak up (which they haven't, who hasn't posted yet?), he still should've more openly stated a result.

A more likely scenario is he has not known exactly how to proceed and is checking in with his scum buddies.

That being said, I am coming around to Scum!Glitch as well. I gave them the benefit of the doubt to begin with, but an active lurking/buying time inexperienced scum strategy is starting to feel more likely.

One of the best ways to use the role is to target someone and try to force them to claim VT and then you’d know they’re mafia fake claiming. (I’ve successfully done this once)

The Loud modifier makes it so if Player A targets Player B at night, Player B will be informed that they were targeted by Player A but not what action was taken. For example, if Player A was a Loud Cop and used it on Player B, Player B would be notified that they were targeted by Player A, but not that they used cop.

From my PoV, MM\s play revolves around making people look scummy but not directly pushing it himself. He already did it to me earlier today. In Fwesnid's case he wanted to push there (based on a missassumption of how the GS works). So, in my view he did get notified he was visited by Fwesnid, but he didn't receive a gun, so he assumed Fwesnid was some other PR (i.e. not a GS) and proceeded to push him. However, when he was corrected he could not back track and admit he did get notified of the visit.

If MM knew all along how Fwesnid's role worked he would have probably claimed the visit as soon as he came in today to be safe. Alas, he didn't because he was counting on Fwesnid being pushed to either change his claim to the "real role" or being eliminated and flipping something other than GS.

A SOFT CLEAR could be due to a LOYAL/DISLOYAL modifier. For instance; if X is a DISLOYAL Fruit Vendor and they targeted Y, they'd have expected Y to claim they received fruit if they were Scum. In the lack of such claim they'd assume Y didn't get it, and thus assume they're town. It's SOFT because Y could still have received it but decided not to bring it up unless it was mentioned by someone else. It could also have been BLOCKED, or the target is Ascetic Scum..etc. THAT IS WHY IT IS A SOFT CLEAR.

Now I am not saying IKSF is a FV. I am saying a SOFT CLEAR on someone doesn't necessarily vindicate them, and if it's on Scum it doesn't necessarily implicate the investigator.

If NPOM is Scum then A50 his his buddy who refused to vote him for the elimination. A50's earlier push on NPOM was distancing and their fighting was Scum theater.

If NPOM is Town then A50 is SCUM who knew it was a miselimination and wanted to stay off the wagon.
