I didn't like Fart's 249. I have a pretty good idea of who his main is and I don't think as town he quickly claims he isn't a day cop like that there. Read like scum who didn't want to get into an argument with Math.

Gerry's roleplaying feels the most forced to me.

Gamma for his play in the locker room. His belief that Mastina slipped is based on another belief that she showed signs of believing that Grey wasn't a NPC. However, if you look at her ISO in the locker room, there is nothing that points to Mastina geninuelly believing Grey was an actual player in the game.

Gerry's "tantrums" after responding the best he can felt extremely warranted to be honest. The cases and pushes on him all seem pretty flimsy whenever I try to wrap my head around why he's been the leading wagon for the most of today. I've seen irrelevant and some what semantic shit being pushed on him. Big pushes based on things that the majority of the site don't really know how to use properly on him in meta. I'm having trouble deciding if all of it is scum motivated since it's annoying to read and not really helpful but by no means from what I understood is he flailing.

MariaR - admittedly feeling better about this slot than I did yesterday. There was No real scum hunting D1, which she admitted to. And then there was some ditziness D2 centered around the Gamma lynch that was off to me.

Tywin - I've already spoken about this slot (although not extensively). He's my biggest SR at the moment. I don't feel the need to go into anymore detail. Enough people are SRing him that it shouldn't be hard to see why I am.

LUV is either not invested in this game, or scum. He's slipping under the radar, and we're all letting him do it. My vote on him was intended to garner a response, but it failed to do so. I really get the sense that he's uninvested, but he could still be scum.

It's posts like this which are why I am not impressed with LUV. To put it in a single word: they're underwhelming. From LUV, I expect low-word posting...but I also expect to see something in there which resonates. Which sticks out to me and says, "LUV is onto something". That LUV has a genuine interest in finding scum, and while low-key, is actively pursuing it, with results which speak out and tell me that LUV isn't scum.

I haven't seen them yet, which is why LUV was a scumread of mine. Not as strong as Titus or Peptobislawl, but somewhere near Chickadee, maybe north, maybe south, maybe identical, but thereabouts as south of null by a fair margin.

I think this is where the issues were first made known. Let's address them shall we.

First yes, my play has been underwhelming. I haven't made my presence known and I apologize to anyone who was suspecting some sort of grandiose performance. Some of you deserve better and hopefully once I finish responding to your concerns, I can redeem myself. However, for the record, I play for me, and me only. My mindset going into any game is to have fun. Not to play in a way that would impress mastina. I play solely for me. If I manage to blow minds than great, but that isn't my goal going into any game and I think this is where the disconnect lies.

I'd also argue that I have had a few notable "He's on to something moments this game.". I was the only one that really pushed on Gamma in the locker room for his reason for town reading you. I was the only one who noticed Fart was playing too tentative and not like himself at all. Both of those players flipped scum. If Gerry flips scum, I called that too due to how fake his role playing seemed. Even the post you quoted, I'll consider one too looking back, as Chara is the only player to have flipped town.

Now I know this is multi-ball and doesn't mean much, but to say I haven't had those, "How did he catch him or her reads?" yet is a bit of an understatement

This is also empty posting and flat-out coasting from LUV.
The town-LUV I know is annoyingly aggressive. The town-LUV I know is active, is dogged, is constantly asking a ton of questions and pursuing every available lead. I've never seen LUV as town be so complacent. It reeks of being scum trying to stay in the background: making JUST enough noise as to not feel the wrath of the mod, but not enough where either town or scum hold interest in killing him.

And do correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't LUV highly value the idea of being nightkilled? (I could be mistaken there.) Doesn't LUV, as town, want to earn the nightkill? If so...then why the fuck is he doing nothing to so much as give a passing effort at trying for it?

I guess I can you see how you felt that question lacked meaning if I squint. It did have a purpose though and it was honestly a sincere attempt at getting back into the game. At the time, Majiffy was a strong advocate for a Gerry lynch and his use of the word flailing pinged me a bit. I wanted to see what he felt the word meant because I thought he was just lazily pushing a lynch behind it. Sadly, he went M.I.A., and I didn't get a chance to really finish what I had started there.

As for your meta read, which is more of an experience one, I don't think you should seriously consider it as base for reading me. Civ is a game that just was a battle of egos and everyone that wasn't scum just ended up getting out of character due how toxic the environment was.

And yes I value the night kill, doesn't mean that whoever is scum isn't aware that I'm always a juicy end game lynch

Well, let me give you a little background to that post you quoted there. Me and Chi are very close and let's just say I found it very odd and scummy she would call me out on my activity. I told her right after she had told me she pre-inned for this game that I'm not interested, because I dislike role-madness games. Literally a day after, Kuroi had requested if I wanted to play. I don't turn down mod requests and I had told her right after he did sighing. She knows me best so she should know why I've done as you call it, fuck all. She knows what kind of games I prefer. She knows who I have blacklisted. She knows I've been going through a lot this part month and a half and what I go through on a daily basis. Now I don't expect you to know this but it is why I made that specific post because I found it extremely scummy of her to be scum reading me for the reason she gave.

As to why I didn't replace out, excuse me if I didn't feel like being an outright dick to the mod by forcing him to looking for a replacement after he requested I play. I'm also limited to 4 games. Meaning replacing out without a really good reason is a death sentence for me.

Now there are actual game reasons as to why I haven't been making much of an effort up until now. To be frank, every time I'm trying to get into the game my way or get invested, the day just has either ended short (RC shooting Bins and the mod killing off a scum team) or obvious scum was found and I get annoyed and frustrated at the time wasted with the lallygagging and the noise (Gamma scum claiming and Fire and the like suggesting idiotic reasons not to lynch him and Pepto being obvious scum).

So you see, it may look like I'm coasting on the surface, but if you took the time to actually critically think, you'll realize I'm just demotivated.

Now I understand that you're a big fan of meta but I think the way you're using is ultimately ineffective here as you are not really taking context into account. You also haven't seen my scum game either.

McMenno I just explained: scum.

MariaR is overall probably my second-strongest townread, and I'll tell you why: she's the inverse of McMenno.

Whereas with McMenno all I see are little indicators of him being scum (nothing major, but also nothing whatsoever which looks town)...

...With MariaR, all I see are little indicators of her being town (nothing individually major, but also not a single lick of scum in her).

Even Leonshade doesn't have that level of townness. And Leonshade? Still pretty town overall. I think maybe Firescreamer might actually be higher to be fully honest, because on Leonshade I

had those wavering moments of doubt. But all the same. Overall. His presence, his strength. I see far more of Civilization Leonshade than I do of WWE Leonshade. I think he's usually on-point. His lack of stronger presence is a concern, but not to the point where I think he's scum trying to avert the spotlight.

This... I do not like so much. It feels LAMIST. You seem to be taking on a mediator role, a voice of reason for the angry mob... And the way you express your opinions, your doubt about her alignment and your desire to find scum does not feel genuine to me. Mastina went MIA completely for 4 day phases. 4. That's weeks of real time doing absolutely nothing ever. Two other players tried this. They got modkilled. Townies tried this, they got replaced. Mastina however, has one notable difference that easily proves she's scum. She didn't get modkilled at all when she was the worst offender. The two that DID were scum partners. Mastinas partner was not killed yet. So she was not modkilled. Why she wasn't replaced is a whole other can of worms that I blame on both mastina and the mod for allowing, but that's why she's blacklisted. Her alignment is not and cannot be questioned.

If there's four scum, then we lynch Chickadee, LUV, McMenno, and Peregrine. If six, add from my lesser townread pile: Almost 50, Dodge, and Majiffy.

Priscilla, Gerry, Maria, and Leon are all hard townreads. Add in one of the lesser townreads (or all three if we have only four scum), and then you have everything you really need.

Basically, I really, really, REALLY feel like the game is on a lockwin. So if everyone is ready, we can lynch Chickadee at any time. She is just scum. By play, by POE, by everything.

And now that I'm back. I'd like to reaffirm this.
This game right now is on a lock win for town essentially.
We have a townbloc. It's strong. Priscilla. MariaR. Leonshade. gerryout. mastina. That's not quite half the playerlist, but it's pretty damn close to it.
Even if scum systematically kill within that grouping. (Which they might not.)

Lynch LUV, 9 alive.

Lynch McMenno, 7 alive.

In the resulting 3p lylo...you've got one town player, and two not so town players. One not-so-town player is lynched; if town, the not-so-town player vengekills the other not-so-town player.

So no matter what. We've got a lock win.

There is a slight hiccup to the plan, of course.
If there's six scum alive rather than four scum, then we need scum nightkilling scum in order to win. 'Cause right now we can't win a six scum game without scum's help. They'd make up literally half the voters (so we'd need them for a lynch); it'd be impossible to get rid of them all via just lynch in our given timeframe.

But if there's four scum alive right now, we're golden.

We either have the scum entirely locked down (scum are Chickadee/LUV/PeregrineV/McMenno)...
...Or, we have 1/2 scum within Almost50/Majiffy/Dodge, and we have between lynch/vengekills enough time to take them ALL out.

All you need to know is that you both need to LYNCH scum and if you luck out and get the nightkill, you also need to NIGHTKILL scum, because...

But, it's definitely still optimal for scum to nightkill scum, of course.

So it's optimal to shoot at scum because if scum are in the majority that's too many people who have access to the kill and too few chances to get rid of the competition via just the lynch.

In this game, the non-town players share a singular nightkill. Because there's only one death per night, there's only one player who would die. And thus, the town will shrink at a static rate no matter what. And most of the time, thanks to the number of scum in the game, a scum player isn't going to HAVE the kill, making each and every kill they DO possess matter more.

...So.
Given this.

A viable tactic for a scum in this game is to try and turn this into a singleball game: while dodging attention (thus, the lynch and any risk of a vengekill aimed their way, though they probably want to lynch scum to avoid the whole vengekill risk ANYWAY), deliberately using their nightkill on non-town players to try and get a monopoly on the kill. With a monopoly on the kill, they are no longer at risk of being nightkilled BY the kill, and no longer have to let someone else dictate who dies.

The normal reason scum would avoid that is the town being too large. But.

I think we started with probably a maximum of like 11 town. With us starting with a smaller town and with Not Chara already dead, the scum have an incentive to shoot for scum. This is something I obviously under normal circumstances wouldn't want to tell them (since telling scum the smart play when they've been stupid is itself a Really Dumb Idea)...

...But I honestly don't see the downsides of disclosing this?
Optimal play is for scum to shoot at scum. And we want scum dead. So we WANT them to shoot at each other. Shooting scum = not shooting town; shooting scum = less scum required to lynch. Yet it's still optimal play FOR them to shoot each other because shooting scum = less competition for the nightkill; shooting scum = greater control over the game; shooting scum = less randomness.

That should tell you just about everything you need to know.

Lynch Chickadee, nightkill LUV, and then lynch McMenno, nightkill Almost50, and we'll have saved you for last!

Priscilla is town because you just can't fake that level of YES. You can't fake the things she's done. Even if she were capable of sincerely doing so as scum (and I doubt that), it'd be just a hilariously bad idea for her to actually take this approach if she WERE scum. The emotions, the content, the thoughts, the process, the way of wording things, the tone, the energy, the drive, the EVERYTHING Priscilla does is so overwhelmingly town that I would call the mod a liar and a bastard if he specified otherwise. Priscilla is what every town player should strive to be.

MariaR is that one townread you get which is oh so RIDICULOUSLY hard to word and yet just makes so much sense. She is like gut-town personified. Nothing she has done has given anyone any solid thing to townread her off of. And yet everyone is townreading her,

for good reason

. Leonshade saw the same thing I saw. Priscilla saw the same thing I saw. Her approach is just...highly unique. It's something which defies explanation, defies words. An aura radiating town and yet which you can't pinpoint the source of. She's just. She's town personified.

gerryout is not far behind. At every step of the way. I can follow his thought processes, and see what he's doing. He's sticking his neck out a lot. He's taking stances that aren't always popular. He's fighting for what he believes in at every point. He's not in the background; consistently perhaps more than any other player in the game, he's been in the foreground, charging forward. He's given content. He's given reasons. He's given reads. He continues to push, explaining himself and just being reasonable. And yet. He's also quirky. He's got some nonstandard stuff. Things which are weird. And yet, when you look at them from his eyes, you can totally see. I don't see scum as being able to take that stance.

And while Leonshade is the weakest of the town core. He is still very much a part of the town core. His reads and reasoning are spot-on. While his activity has at times been troubling...it's never been too large of a concern. Every time I see Leonshade post, my townread on him grows more and more, because he's saying all the right things and he's exactly how I think of him as town: on-point, having a good basis, and just being a force to be reckoned with.

Yeah this is the problem and it's why I actually care whether town win or not. You're essentially the town leader here and this is exactly why we might lose this.

There is very little substance to your reads. They look important but lack the quality of being valid. They have no backbone and are trivial.

Scum will do anything they can to get town read. Priscilla flipping scum wouldn't surprise me at all, especially after who she replaced in Fire. A slot who you can argue has been looking a bit shaky since his play when Gamma scum claimed and his own push on Gerry. Wouldn't surprise me one bit. In fact, I think Priscilla's play here has been quite optimal if people took the time to reread Fire.

Gut reads are fine. Intuition based reads are fine. I'm a intuition based player myself actually. However, your Maria one is really the definition of the phrase, "What the fuck?" Everyone town reading her should invoke some paranoia given your reasoning, since you just find her play here unique which doesn't substitute lack of real content.

Town reading people because they agree with you probably fits the mold of what I'm trying to argue here. It's a shallow read. There is very little consideration shown to look as to why you and Leon share the same views. The read is also easy.

The only read I like here is Gerry. It's detailed. It's thorough. It gives me a good picture of not only what I can question you on if I disagree with it, but what I can also look at and see if it checks out. Reads like this one win games, reads like your others? Loses games more than not.

As for A50, I already touched on what I didn't like about his play today in regards to Chi. The Gerry case however sealed it for me. He starts of the case off by opting to rehash things within the same realm of the beef a lot of players had with Gerry on Day 3. He's using prior experience as a substantial part of his reasoning for voting him. This experience isn't 20 games, 10 games, or even 5 games. It's 1 game. Just 1 game. One game with a person isn't enough to get a sense of a players personality or play style. It isn't enough to start pattern matching.

He then decides to take Gerry's emotion out of context by quoting parts of his raging. Town can be bitter. Town can be petty. Gerry wanting to make A50 or even anyone look like an idiot is very understandable given what he was pushed on. This kind of point just screams a lack of awareness or care from A50 that I think is more likely to come from scum than town.

Shortly after that, he plays the semantic game in which he points out to everyone and asks how does Gerry know that he's town. He's not attacking anything said in that quote, just the supposed slip. A very easy push to make and one that is overall scummy.

The only two semi-valid points are pointing out that Gerry town read Chi and that he might be buddying mastina. The problem with both of these points are that reads can and will change overtime when new information is presented or new takes on already existing information are presented. The other problem is that buddying is NAI.

So, yeah. Bad play revolving Chi and bad case on Gerry. Please lynch A50, thanks.
