Someone: "So who's on the wagon?"
(^---this step was skipped)

Muffin: "Well it's not me so maybe it's Staeg!"

WILL THIS GAME BE THE REVIVAL OF THE KURIBO WE KNOW AND LOVE?
THE KURIBO WHO TRAVERSED GALAXIES ACROSS THE UNIVERSE TO DEATH AND DESTRUCTION UPON THE MASSES?

A lots changed over the last year since the last game I played

I spent a year losing weight, sleeping on the beach, and removing toxic influences from my life

But just because I've embraced the way of Tranquilo doesn't mean I'm about to take shit off someone I've never heard of

I'm saying it's nai but if you're asking to pick 1 side it's scummy.

Well while I've got your attention, I disagree about the other post being NAI, and I'm guessing I know why DGB sees it that way.

I'll give you a hint: when a game starts picking g up steam, it's not uncommon for timid scum not to know where to start. That post reeks of dipping toes in the water: being seen posting while not providing any substance, illumination, or discussion. It is simply a drive by comment about the game state without any attempt to change it.

Then we have no issue here if LLD is scum we'll find her yes? I'm allowed to have my opinion on her post not being good or not just as you are on Kokichi. We can both tell the other we're incorrect all we want it's just a matter if we listen. So are you going to listen?

In post 164, Lady Lambdadelta wrote:DGB probably town? That's a day 2 problem. I think DGB is town but I think I'd like to see the scumputer start chugging out results before I commit to that. Meritocracy for DGB reads.

I read DGB better than anyone on this site, it's been proven time and again over eleven years. Hell, it's one of the things I'm most proud of--- I consider her my kindred spirit on this site, and one of my closest friends from the same. I've been town with her, scum with her, hydra'd with her, and every combination you can think of. DGB as scum fears me as town, and scum me fears town DGB. I have absolute faith that I will be able to correctly discern her alignment because I always have.

But even I don't try to figure her alignment out Day 1. That's a fool's errand as you know. I like what I see so far, but I know I have time to sort out DGB. Unless I die N1, in which case: yaaaaaay! If I can't lynch scum, getting killed by them is always second best.

Honestly getting a solid read on mollie Day 1 would be a higher priority because I really want mollie to be town. Town mollie is easy to work with, readily proposes reads, and reaches out to form blocs with her town reads. Scum mollie digs her tendrils in deep to poison the well. I want her to be town.

I've spent the past year bettering my life, sleeping on the beach, getting into a good place, and as a result, I am a much happier person. This gels well with the fact that I really don't feel like getting suspended from the site again for telling people they have sex with farm animals.

But if you think for one damn second I'm gonna sit here and let someone call me intentionally stupid, you're in for a rude awakening

And for the record this is why I get LLD's frustration

She got Fucking WOTC'd out of the game before the mid overruled it

You people decided she was such a toxic individual that you'd rather not play with her at all.

You don't see why she'd be frustrated? I feel her pain, because I don't want to end up in her position where people would rather not play with me anymore. She's frustrated because she feels like DGB is baiting her, I imagine. And While I disagree on that point, I do understand how it is when you're trying to be a better site presence.

I didn't say either of those at all. I'm saying she may feel baited because of your reasoning for calling her scum. I know you see it as a universal scumtell, and we've had conversations about that very subject.

I'm also not saying she's lynchproof, but I'm saying that this particular action is not something I see as scummy. If she's scum, I want more.

Listen, we both know lynching LLD is a drawn-out, frustrating, emotional experience. She doesn't go down without a fight. If the need arises, I'm absolutely able to go toe-to-for and help push her wagon right alongside you. But I need more than "AtE."

God damn

I very rarely ever solidify a read on DGB day 1, simply because it's dangerous. And when I do solidify that read the first day, it's because I've caught her as scum. Divining DGB's alignment is like tasting a fine wine or conjuring a dead Erdrich abomination: its best to take your time

For once though, I feel really really comfortable calling her town now.

I could try to explain but most of it goes on gut and my knowledge having played with her, against her; and the same slot as her.

You see them as strong misrepresentations; I see them as a differing of opinion on her part. Misrepresentation implies an intent to mislead. I do believe she believes the things she's saying to you.

Who the fuck says that? "I don't think he's town but I'm not gonna vote him."

Motherfucker thinks I'm scum, motherfucker best put his vote behind it or shut the fuck up. I don't do that halfway, half shade, passive aggressive bullshit, I come at the scum head on.

If he thinks I'm scum, I wanna see some real conviction out of it, because you know what I see? I see a scum that's bitten off more than he can chew with a player he knows will drive him into the ground and now wants to back off.

Guess what? My trains don't fucking have brakes.

THIS DUNNSTRAL WAGON RESISTANCE IS UNREAL
^^^
I don't fund Dunnstral scummy at all, but maybe the scum is bus'ing. They know things I don't.

So three of your strongest town reads (me, mollie, camn) are on this guy's wagon. How does that indicate a strong scum bus?

Especially not on Day 1, it may mean that scum doesn't want to compromise themselves voting for a townie on Day 1... and start the game with scumcred.

But this is circular logic, one could just as easily say that maybe he's a strong scum PR and they don't want to lose him day 1 just because some loud players are tunneled on him.

But Feysal's point about Dunn antagonizing me is completely wrong. Dunn hasn't confronted me head on, instead he's thrown half hearted shade at meand backed off. He's also stated that he doesn't think I'm Town and won't be voting me

Now how the FUCK is that "antagonizing me to generate content" as Fey put it? Where I see it, Dunn tried to throw shade, got caught, and realized he'd but off more than he could chew so he clammed the fuck up.

Nah... they'd bus a Double-Kill Godfather Flaming Pumpkin on Day 1 if they thought there was towncred in it.

Would they? We both know that some players, yourself included, are extremely averse to bussing. Not only that, but you think LLD is scum, right? LLD is probably the only player on this site besides Fate who can give me a run for my money with the number of partners we've bussed over the years. You don't think she'd bus Dunn and watch me drive Dunn into the ground? I'm not saying LLD is scum, but I'm saying you aren't even considering the idea she'd bus Dunn?

There are a good amount of players with less scumhunting than I.

Espeonage, Kokichi, Camntsuki, arguably Nacho, arguably Kuribo

That's not to say they're scummy for it - just seems weird that I'm the one being pushed for it with everything else going on

Besides, I've done my fair share of scumhunting. You think just because my read on someone is null, that I haven't been doing any sorting? Null is where they belong, I don't need a conclusion day 1. I've been progressing the game.

This is rich coming from a guy who refuses to vote me but still wants to paint me as scum

stop applying these words that you are inserting cos you think it makes you look good and address I am saying cos so far you are not

all you are doing is deflecting and I am hoping that pple are not so headblind that they will not see it.
Not gonna repeat myself, it gets old.
look. you have already pissed kuribo off to the point of no return how about you not piss me off as well? cos this was a dick comment which does/solves/resolves nothing to further a town win con.

like srsly nothing. so stop it.

if you are town it wld be really cool if you worked with me instead of against me. I am seeing a spark of the same stubbornness that I saw in the very last game we played together. I took a year off of ms and played on other sites and mellowed cos I was playing games that were *gasp* fun.

if you are town then help me out. stop being so antagonistic and work with me here.

can you give me a readslist of all the players in the game? lets start there.

this is a reach out. if you are town plz for the love of god take it, there is way too much potential for game throwing here and it wld be lovely for town to win a fate game cos you know what? town never have. I knew this when signing up and I was really hoping for a scum role pm but we didn't get 1 and now I am stuck with a cple of players I am beginning to not like and who are probably town.

I wld like to have 1 small kernal of hope that we actually have a chance to win here. so plz. accept it.
Town never wins a fate game because it always attracts the old,
experienced
crowd. There, I said it.

If you want to work with me, the first step is to stop blaming me for what other people are doing in the game. Look, Kuribo is a jerk to everybody. Blaming me for other players poor form and performance doesn't make me want to work with others.

I'm going to give you all of my reads and I want you to ask questions about the ones you are interested in, they're roughly in order top to bottom as well

Not remotely true

I'd like you to stop attacking me, I was looking at your post from a game standpoint and your hop onto staeg did look suspect at the time, I talked about how Camntsuki was gaining traction and you joined the higher wagon you barely talked about
AnonymousGhost wrote: I'll go over their ISO again with "Casper" just in case.
Tried that too, they never called you that

Except as I pointed out several times, I'm also scum reading Staeg, and it's disingenuous to act as if that's not the case.

It's also notable that you're now defending Staeg, despite your earlier assertion that I've never explained why I believe you to be buddies. (Also false)

He's misrepresented every case put against him, he's appealed to emotion, he's attacked other players while asking for civility, he's not Town and he's got to get stepping.

actually hol' up

with two claimed masons presumably in line now to get NK'd before me, I feel safe claiming. I am Gemini/Capricorn, the Politician. Each day I choose one player (I have already selected DGB and submitted my selection) and at night I get a private topic with them. (DGB hates neighbors, and I vowed to turn her into something she hates) At the end of the night, she gets to decide if she wants to elect me. If at any point, the living majority of players have voted me President, I gain powerful influence over the day's lynch. This role would be OP as fuck for scum obviously because it only gets stronger as the game goes on. I legit thought this was a kingmaker setup at first based on my role.

I believe the mason claim because there is literally exactly one person dumb enough to confirm their scum partner as their "mason" buddy, and that's unfortunately me.

If they're not masons, Nacho had no reason to confirm, least of all on day 1 when they'd need a lot of help to win as scum. Don't you understand? If either flips scum, the other is outted. Who the hell would do that day 1?

My scum partner claims mason on day 1, I leave them to twist in the wind. Or any day for that matter. Lessons learned on that one.

It was MYLO and the stupid part wasn't that we claimed mason, we had actually spent the whole game preparing to claim mason

The stupid part was that together we decided to COUNTERCLAIM THE ACTUAL MASONS

the other two had claimed first and we were like NOPE WE ARE THE MASONS

and then town LYNCHED THEM which triggered their vengeful (which they didn't claim) and they used it to shoot DGB

don't blindly write them off as town for that claim

What I said was that claiming mason as scum day 1 = e

Someone else confirming themselves as their mason day one = probably masons

Obviously reevaluate if everyone's still alive in a few days, but we're not lynching claimed masons day 1

When I actually can take two seconds to independently think about the game state, two nagging, terrifying questions keep popping into my head and I want nothing more than to shout them to you. But spite, as you know, is often the core of my gameplay and pride doubly so. As it is, there is no point in vocalizing either question because it will absolutely drag out into another huge, thread-shitting fight, and I don't have the energy for that. But further, I need not elaborate because I know already what you will propose is the answer to both questions. While I assure you both questions are in good faith, and increasingly nagging concerns, they would absolutely not be taken as such by people outside-looking-in. Do you follow? If not, I suppose I'll just have to elaborate when we get a PT tonight.

@Dunn and @Maria

You know what, we've all gotten off on the wrong foot in this game, tempers have flared, and I've reverted back to old habits I've tried so god damn hard to break. I've spoken to both of you in ways I shouldn't, I've taken things more personally than I probably should have at times (as is my nature: ask mollie about the first game I played with Majiffy, who's now a friend of mine) I've probably done harm to the gamestate and made it rather undun for many people involved. For that, I do apologize, both to you two primarily, and to the other players at large. Yes, Dunn, I do still believe you to be scum, for the reasons I've laid out, and I'm sorry but that's just Mafia. The other stuff, the personal stuff, that was wildly uncalled for, and for my part in it, I am honestly regretful.

@LLD I've tried for YEARS to convince DGB that real-life AtE isn't a scumtell. My problem is that we both know I was full of shit early game when I claimed I could read you well. We both know I can't. We both know that my playstyle is based on judging emotions, and while I'm damn good at that, you're equally damn good at... not faking your emotions, but directing them. I always say I never fake rage, but that I can work myself into a self righteous lather even as scum. I do believe we both know that to be the case with you as well. Frankly, if somehow we're both still alive in a few days, then I'll figure it out. For now I'm content to just let both of us fight our own little personal wars with other people, because I know good and well as much as you do how exhausting it is when we butt heads.

@mollie

I know you love your townblocs. You're in a groove this game, I sense it. I like what I'm seeing with you, this is the good shit, this is a mollie game. And for the life of me I'm having such a hard time getting engaged beyond the pissing and shouting. Why? We both know why. I haven't been Town in over two years, and most of the time it was as part of a hydra. I'm rusty, sure, but the other thing is, believe it or not, I'm genuinely happy in my life. You know how hard it is for me to play mafia when I'm not suicidal and hate-filled? Even the spats with Dunn took so much out of me emotionally that I dreaded even clicking the thread, and that shit was mild compared to the wars of old. Listen, I'm townreading you. I have my townbloc of my own, and it includes you and DGB. I'm counting on the two of you to help me figure this shit out. Dunn may have actually been onto something, albeit in kind of an annoying way: I'm experienced, but it's just another way of saying I've been here too long. But more than that I'm rusty. I need my town reads to help me on this one. I trust you, mollie, at least for the moment and the foreseeable future. That's honestly about as good as one can really expect to hear in a game of mafia.

@Nacho

Wanna hear something weird? You and I have played several games together. Probably many, actually. I genuinely like you as a poster, and I've heard enough about your play to know that you're a good, solid, strong player. But I don't have any clear memories of playing with you. If that makes sense. No single game or moment ever stands out in my mind as "oh that time me and Nacho were in a game together." You've always just been kind of... there. And that sucks, because I wanna see that tour de force Nacho that everyone talks about, I wanna see you decimate your foes, I wanna have that Nacho moment. Because I've never had that experience with you in a game. And now you're a day 1 outted mason, and that fucking sucks. Because between that and everything else this game, it looks like I'm gonna miss out again on a Nacho moment.

@TDK

Listen, I feel you. I feel you on the emotional overload in this game, all of it. Of all people, I know how it gets when you lose your murder boner because you just can't stop pissing on everything. And while I'd say there are others on this site I'm closer to on a personal level (DGB and mollie for example) you remain the one I've known the longest. Twelve years, longer than either of us have ever even heard of MafiaScum. Long before the lynchings, and the fake claims, and the scumbuddies, there was Second Wave, the Happy FYAD Empire, kuribo's March, and Re: your imminent destruction posts. We've fought side by side beyond galaxies, on town wagons, in scumteams, and when the time was necessary, we've mercilessly destroyed one another. Because that's always been us, right? Brothers united in fury to push victory by any means necessary. I do believe you're Town this game. It's that gut feeling, and no, I won't tell you specifics, and you know why I won't. But I do believe it. HOWEVER, and this, Kats, is the important part. I was gonna wait to discuss this with DGB, but it might not matter by tonight, so I'm gonna ask you directly instead. One- since when do you buddy me day one? And more importantly, two- since when do you not call someone out---especially me--- for role PM shenanigans? Not once did you even call me cheeky and I found that SO weird.

@Fate

Man, I'm gonna owe you about a dozen apologies by the time this shits over. Aside from the one I already gave you. I've tried to be the enlightened one, the Tranquilo Serene, the Zen Kuribo that I've spent over eighteen months now cultivating in my real life outside of the forum. Do you remember the scum QT for Catch-22? Or as I've come to call it, "Thr scumQT of misery and self loathing?" Do you remember how I was, six years ago (god so long), in that QT, lamenting my failing marriage in real time, logging into the game suicidally wishing for death? I was the last one standing on that scumteam, and I had no one in my life to talk to about my problems, and so I dumped them into that QT. What you don't know, what no one knows, is that sometimes I go back to that ScumQT. It's still there. Every post, every miserable description of what my life was at the time. I like to revisit it, and do you know why? Because when I remind myself of the lowest time in my life, I realize how fucking amazing my life is now. Seriously, my life is awesome. I went to Wrestlemania and met Stone Cold Steve Austin a couple months ago for God's sake. And lord help me, I've tried with this game. I've tried to reflect that I'm in a better place in life, and dare I say a better person than I used to be. But old habits, Fate, they die hard. But I'm trying. I'm trying to be the man I know I am. I do owe you an apology as well, for my behavior toward certain players. There is a reason, I suppose, that we forsake the old ways. Most importantly, though, is that I just don't want to be that toxic forum presence. And I don't want to alienate friends, or strangers who could become friends. Life's too short for all that, and we never know what Fate has in store.

I will, presumably, find time sooner or later the next day or two to review the parts of the thread that aren't about me. Anyone who knows my history knows that I work double shifts a lot of weekends, and this weekend is no exception. The main difference is we have a zero tolerance / immediate termination cell phone policy at the facility now, thanks to a teenage employer violating HIPAA last year. So, gone are the days of me shouting in triumph over a scum lynch from inside a linen closet at work.

I'm happy with where my vote is, and with any luck I'll get NK'd (although that's extraordinarily less likely now because of the masons) and not have to read anything else anyway.

I do have questions about Kats that have given me pause, as I said above. I also haven't felt the need to vocalize them until now because it's easier than arguing to call him a town read and not drag through all that.

The reasons I read him as Town are my own, and if I reveal those, then he's a self aware enough player to use it against me in the future. Assuming I ever actually play again. He has dropped at least one fairly hard town tell in my mind--- but I also am slightly concerned about the two questions I asked him. Keep in mind, I was perfectly fine to sit on them until I get my PT with DGB so I could approach her privately about it, but with Kats possibly getting lynched, I didn't see any more point in holding it back.

I'm obviously vehemently against lynching either mason. Claiming mason as scum on day 1 would be one thing, a desperation move. Confirming your own scum partner would be a whole other thing entirely. I do believe Nacho has it in him to be cheeky. I do not believe Nacho is stupid. Confirming your own scum buddy day one is the latter.

I keep getting the nagging feeling that some of the scum team are going to be the under the radar types. And why not, with big personalities tearing one another to pieces? Kochina seems like the obvious choice, but they've been VLA so that's not a tell, now is it? I don't like AnonGhost's shade on the mason claim, but is that scummy? Or just bad town play. Both. But does it come from scum? I'm not too sure, it's easiest for scum to just sit back and "mmmhm yup masons, onto the next wagon" and collect claims.

Espe. I'd lynch Espe in a heartbeat. Sorry, but I would. Part of it was the reaction to my first post about partying with me. You wanted in on that, didn't you Espe, or at least wanted to know why you weren't in. Oh, don't get me wrong, I haven't read much of anything from Espe--- similar to most of the players--- but that nagging feeling in my head says scum lies there. He's disengaged, he's made excuses for why he isn't scumhunting, and he's tried a couple of times to buddy up to people, myself included. I'd rope Espe right now.

Feysal, id rather wait till the end of Friday since they had asked for VLA till Thursday. I wouldn't mourn a death in that slot though. If anything I'd say I'm almost 100% sure there's scum between he and Espe, with a non-zero chance they're buddies.

Muffin, I wouldn't lynch you today, but I don't have you as a heavy town read either. I could see you being the workhorse of a scum team. I'm not out for your blood yet, though, so if you're scum you've got plenty of time to NK me.

I don't know Maria well enough to trust my read on her, and I'll defer myself on that for the time being. She could flip town, scum, or anything in between and I wouldn't be surprised. Not because of her posts, just because I have no point of reference.

I also believe there is a possibility of scum among my Fateful Four (DGB, mollie, Kats, LLD) because of the sheer numbers (mathematically, there's a 33% chance at least one of them is scum) ratio and my own aversion to town blocs. I will not speculate at this time on this,
because nothing fruitful can come of it today.

It doesn't help that it's happening on the background of Muffin's more reasoned case

What if DGB is right about AG, and mollie is right about Muffin: what if they're both scum?

We have claimed masons in a game with a number of high-townreads, it's gotta be frustrating for scum to watch their mislynch options whittled down on day one. It could be scumplaining as opposed to keeping an open mind, if that makes sense.

No one with half a brain thinks masons are gonna get lynched day one, but I do see DGB's point of view: there's a certain subset of scum players who would keep masons alive a few days (especially with unknown factors like possible protective roles) and keep that shade in the forefront of towns minds. It's hard to scumhunt when you're doubting two confirmed townies, and doubly so if they stay alive.

I said it was easiest, I didn't say there aren't people who wouldn't.

That's why I said a subset of players. There absolutely are players who will reject the path of least resistance. Hell, you know as well as I do that some of them are in this very game, and for that matter the moderator himself even falls into this category.

Since you're Gemini also, at any point when you got your role were you confused or no. Don't have to go into details, just a yes or no.

As I stated at the time of my claim, I legit thought we were in a Kingmaker setup, but that's the only confusion I initially felt.

I think you rely too heavily on meta and "I don't know thisnperson so null" is not an acceptable answer after thirty pages of content.

You may not have experience with, say DGB, but you just have no opinion on her activity?

Are they?

The older / traditional / Zodiac constellations, yes, they are based upon gods and other figures in Greek mythology. Much like how our modern weekday name's and month names still pay homage to the Romans that popularized the system, as well as their gods, the Greeks were big in astronomy and left their mark as well.

Even Libra:
Literally, meaning “weighing scales,” Libra represents the scales of justice, held by Dike, the Greek goddess of justice.

I can't control her when she's like this! She's a maverick, she's one step shy of being off the force for good, but for now you might wanna help us out here!

Thanks for the laugh, but I have now read the last couple pages and skimmed enough to know that did not happen.

Apparently there have been no less than four claims. Masons, Kuribo and now Kokichi. Anything else of importance I missed?
