Just a heads-up: I typically struggle on Day 1 due to not having anything tangible to work with.

I work as a strictly nocturnal night nurse, so am asleep during the day. I also work 60-72 hours each week

As Town I am free to be aggressive because I legitimately don't know who is what, and I don't care about self-preservation.

As Scum I struggle to emulate the above play and frequently try to force myself to forget my role.

As Town I work best by consistent extreme engagement to generate content: it's extremely easy to do as Town and a chore for me to do as Scum because I already have insider knowledge and I'm a terrible liar. As Town it's extremely easy for me to make free-flowing-thought posts on a dime.

I don't quickhammers and appreciate intent to hammer being made first. At this point on I don't quickhammer and instead will announce intent to claim.

I prefer NOT to play using readslists due to my severe time constraints. It's easier for me to tell you how I feel about a player, and as Town if you ask me I should be able to tell you fairly soon how I honestly feel about them. If it takes awhile then I'm possibly Scum.

On Day 1 expect me to be playing based solely on gut reads and gut vibes: I have no tangible evidence to work with.

I'm making it a habit to post this post first at the start of each game, and then start reading.

it's hard to pressure someone if you don't pose any risk. if you have a good case, that's pressure - the risk is that you'll convince other players that a given slot should be executed. if there's little time on the day, that's also pressure - wild shit happens all the time when the day gets lose to deadline

When you pressure someone, the idea is to make them do something. When a player feels like they have to do something, that is pressure.
You got like, 5 votes. That is a lot of votes and those votes being on you forces you to feel like you have to do something. It doesn't matter if one vote is naked when you have a bunch of people voting you.
Pressure doesn't even need votes to be created. Generally if you read the room and there is a lot of people who want more from a slot but they're voting elsewhere, there is pressure on the slot in question to do things.
Mafia is like a game of ping pong. Eventually the game will get to the point where the gamestate can't really advance if specific slots don't do anything to advance it. This is generally something that happens in situations where people are waiting on a player to do something.

If you fucked off with what you just posted, I would push harder, and then that could eventually threaten an execution or get a claim. It wouldn't do you any good to do this. Yes town get distracted by shiny very easily and can go somewhere else, but when you're dealing with competency, this isn't going to happen reliably.

So when I think of Osuka, what I think of is
- A lot of interactions with Mikhail that seems like they're pushing Mikhail but they're also talking to them like they're a villager. This is something I see w/ 611.
- 257 also comes across as strange to me.
- 321 I feel like comes from mafia. It could realistically come from anything but I think in this game it comes from mafia.
- 598 + 599 I want to say reads like mafia pushing a slot.

I feel like when I think of Osuka's posting, he's engaging w/ players in a way that doesn't really come across as wanting to be right, but rather comes across as wanting to be justified and maybe even informed.

Takutai's wagon formed (I think decently naturally) because a lot of players agreed that that's just the best thing to vote.

If an execution happens, okay, that's something. If it doesn't, that's also something.
I find wagoning the player to be productive and I honestly even wouldn't mind it flipping.

Mafia is a really hard game and it's not easy to play well, so there aren't a lot of players that really know what they're doing.
For me, I know what I am good at, I know what I'm not good at, and I've kind of defined my playstyle and how it is I approach the game.
A lot of people when they're villagers kind of just post what's on their mind and don't rly move about the game with intention

Maybe people's inherent fear of being wrong? I know that's a problem on my HS, but the problem there is a lot worse than what we're seeing here and i eventually gave up on it.
