It's basically just RVS at this point. I'm trying to take time to read people before posting a lot this game, because I've learned recently that my reads kind of suck.

Can you explain the colors behind your post? Are they randomly selected, or does red mean scumlean, green townlead, etc?

Sorry to hear about your knee. I hope everything's alright.
Oh okay.

The colors are at random. No inherent meaning.

Thank you.

This isn't a 19-man face-to-face conversation. It's a message-board thread.

Please don't avoid my questions Titus. It's making me feel uncomfortable about your alignment.

1)
You said that someone voting you means that person is scumreading you.

2)
I say that's not necessarily true, because it isn't.

3)
Instead of responding to my point you ask me why I'm interrupting you.

4)
Me: Like why are you not being logically and why are you avoiding the point. Please respond to my points Titus.

Yeah, a vote at this point is a scumread from someone actively following along, or it's someone who has no desire to sort the thread, which is a scumclaim. Your vote says "I want this person removed from the game".

You're being semantic and interrupting my questioning trying to sort Almost and trying to play semantic games while interpreting someone else's read rather than letting them speak for themselves.
See I don't really agree with that, and I say that with all the respect in the world. I've seen players vote other people they didn't necessarily Sumread just to see what their reaction would be. Heck, I've done that in the past. So knowing that when you say voting someone means you Scumread the person I have to say 'wait, that's not true, and here's why.'

I feel like you're inappropriately attaching meanings to actions and, well, if you're Town Town wouldn't do that. It's not true that a vote on someone at this point is a Scumread from someone actively following along. It's not automatically true. But you also change the meaning mid-sentence by saying OR the vote's from someone who has no desire to sort the thread. Which is it, and why must it be either? And then you attach a further meaning onto the second option by saying it must be a Scumclaim. I'm sorry but you're not being logically accurate, and at this point I'm trying to understand if it's just honest mistakes or something more deliberate. Whatever the case this needs to be sorted out immediately.

It also looks like you're attaching yet another meaning to that vote, that the voter wants someone removed from the game. You can't assume that. Not if you're honest. The person casting the vote could also be looking for reactions.

What you mistake for semantics is me trying to pin down exactly what you're trying to say (and what you mean), and wanting you to slow down and clarify your ungrounded assumptions. I have the right to question you whenever I want so long as the Day is open, and so does everyone else to anyone else. I have zero reason to wait until you and he are done exchanging, because you can easily see my post in the feed and respond back eventually. It's not even something to argue about, and instead tells me it's a distraction to try and get me off you with my questions.

Will you please acknowledge that someone voting you
does not
necessarily mean they're Scumreading you?

In post 135, Almost50 wrote:
In post 126, Wake1 wrote:His current vote on me. What do you think about it?
Unfortunately I don't have a read on you nor on him. I don't think I've played with either of you before, so it may take me a bit longer to get a read on either/both of you.

My preliminary conclusion (and this is probably carved on water or sand at best) is that some players consider you a threat in this game. If they're town they're afraid of scum!you. If they're scum they're afraid of town!you.

Ok.. I've just ISO'd podoq, and I don't see why he called you that even before you posted when he said he didn't know you. The key here is whether he said that with tongue-in-cheek (i.e. you're actually friends), or if it came out of nowhere. Care to share?
I'm a threat in general because I can hit very hard and be thoroughly provocative at a whim, depending on what's going on in my personal life.

I don't know podo at all, so I thought it strange the way he behaved. He could be an alt.

Scum make mistakes too. Just because they meant to make a comment doesn't mean they noticed something was wrong with it.

Most scumslips are garbage anyways. I've literally only ever seen two, and neither was really a real scumslip anyways. I've never seen one that someone "found" actually turn out to be scum.

Do you think that most things people say in this game are not calculated?
So, in essence, things can exist in this game even if they're unintended.

In my experience there have been plenty of times where Scum say things that are questionable, leading them to be unraveled Days later. It's inevitable.

People like to believe they are calculating. Some more than others.

We're arguing over semantics here. Obviously nobody says anything without meaning to say it, but at the same time people can make mistakes when doing so. I don't thin this is relevant.
Anything posted in this thread that can be unraveled is relevant.

We agree in that people generally post what they mean but can also slip or make mistakes.

You're trying to look fancy but it seems you had trouble with what I wrote in basic english? You're being dumb
Let's set the record clear. I never implied you weren't skilled. It wasn't about
you
. It was about Titus.

There. The record's been set straight. First one's free.

~WILLING TO LYNCH~

Dunnstral
Dunnstral said Titus is Town in , to which I said in she can't know that because it's only Day 1—that it wasn't obvious—and that I'm assuming Dunnstral knows that Titus is a skilled player who can emulate her meta. Meaning it can't be obvious because Scum-Titus knows exactly how to look like Town-Titus. Being non-linear, Dunnstrail in then says I implied she wasn't skilled, which is false. It being false, I don't know if she's genuinely mistaken or trying to twist my words—the latter being far more serious. Asked her to clarify in . In she says she knew what I was talking about Titus, and I checked her again in due to her lack of consistency. Again in she's pushing the falsehood, because no such implication was made unless there was a misunderstanding.
When 'skilled' was mentioned, it was regarding Titus, not Dunnstral. The latter doesn't/won't acknowledge it for unknown reasons.

First, you can go on the record saying you've never pulled a Mason gambit.

Second, it sounds like you're saying both you and Dunnstral are Masons.

Third, no one is confirmed unless by the game moderator.

False.

I question why a claimed Mason would be like 'whatever' if their partner got lynched.

Questioning something does not mean I automatically believe or disbelieve it. Certainty Day 1 is always unwise.

What I'd like to ascertain is whether or not Scum OR Town Titus is willing to fake-claim Mason to deceive Town.

If you know the answer Titus now would be a very good time to save me the trouble of searching.

I would vote Titus off the strength of this, but that would require Dunn to be scum as well and I don't really see Dunn hard defending a scumbuddy like that.
One or both of them could be non-Mason Town.

Town has been known to fake-claim Mason status.

If they're Town but not Mason they're both still lying to us.

Dumb also is not a personal attack. If someone is being dumb, should we have a special word so you're feelings don't get hurt when you are indeed being dumb?
If this is Scum-Titus, it's very subtle Scum-Titus. Looking past the ironic illiteracy I see Scum-Titus very cautiously trying trying to get a dig in... in hopes of stirring division. Town-Titus I doubt would try to miscontrue 'dumb' as something other than a personal attack, while at the same time trying to play the 'feelings angle' to try and rile someone up. She did something similar in that Gundam game where she was Scum but played peace-maker yet tried to sow little seeds of discontent. At the moment I feel comfortable with this not for her words but for her subtle behavior.

Personally, regarding my playstyle, I think it's healthy to literally question everything. Unless it's mod-confirmed. Where other players don't question, I do. It can be grating and abrasive, I know, but I'm a bit more cynical, paranoid, and curious. Hitting hard with these questions Day 1, in my experience, always makes the next Days easier, because if you can get players really talking early on you can go back in the past and see if their current words and actions mesh with their past words. We have literally nothing to go on Day 1 so it makes sense to spur discussion and reactions, even if it's not pleasant.

Idk what you mean, it's pretty straightforward... pushing Titus after the mason claim is, on face, completely pointless. Not everyone follows the philosophy of "question literally everything"; I, for example, would claim that there are far too many things happening in a typical game of mafia to question them all without having a disheveled, impossible-to-follow game. Especially with something like a masonry claim, which is something that will conveniently sort itself out over nights when the masons die, and if they don't, then the question can be addressed later.

I am willing to see shannon as scum for the jump, potentially. I think that kind of taking things at face value that would lead to thinking that someone is scummy for continuing to push the masons is characteristic of how I would play as scum when I was fairly new to the site. But I don't think it's particularly strong.

Also, in most cases, it is in the town's interest to have investigative PRs hitting scum... guilties are much more useful than innocents. It depends on the investigative PR but etc.
I guess we just disagree as a matter of philosophy then. I usually try to question and weigh everything until I fully understand it, even if it's really small and unnoticeable. You have a point about the Mason thing eventually revealing itself... but I do feel it's always going to be fair game to question. Sometimes it feels like players try to pull me back from latching onto something and prying it open for answers, when my job in this game is to literally figure out and solve this game.

Would you be willing to vote shannon with me? Doesn't mean you'd have to lock your vote down, but at least for awhile unless something better stick its head out?

The problem about the PR issue is that the rest of us don't know if shannon is Town. Point being this individual is not wanting to be investigated. Us not knowing who/what she is, to other Town players it looks suspicious. From her perspective, IF she were Town, she'd either A) want to be cleared or B) want it be used elsewhere. But as Scum she'd A) NOT want it on her, B) want it elsewhere, or C) want it on her if and only if she were a Godfather (slight possibility [only invoking Setup spec for the sake of this topic]).

In post 1062, podoboq wrote:OK, I'm gonna go out a huge limb here. Please somebody with significantly more site experience than I look into this.

In Secret Alt Mafia 2, Joey Tribbiani scumslipped by accidentally linking to the Mafia PT. When people clicked the link, they got an error screen that says "You are not authorised to read this topic." This happened because he prepared his wall inside of the Mafia PT, and when he typed (post)74(/post), it linked to the thread he typed it in, not the main thread, where the post he intended to reference lied.

Now it's possible that I'm misunderstanding some of how that works, because I only vaguely know this story from TPP talking about it in Musical Mafia, but I'm seeing the same symptoms of it here. If I'm wrong here, and this is nothing, then sorry I brought it up, we can move on. But if I'm right, and this is the same thing, it's just straight up a scumslip. Like, a real one.

Wake posted a similarly broken url, which leads to a topic I don't have access to:
Here is the slip from Secret Alt Mafia 2. Scroll down to read the explanation of how it's a slip.

Again, apologies if I'm misunderstanding something and this is all nothing.
As I've been allowed in the past, I've used old PTs of mine that only I have access to to gather my thoughts, collect ISOs, and update my Reads List.

Apparently my Reads List contained a link to that hidden PT. I can't make a new PT, but I can use an old one from my old Large Normal.

Zach, here's a column of players.

Dunnstral
Titus
Performer
Nosferatu
Podoboq

From top to bottom, could you rearrange the column from least willing to lynch to most?

Myself and Dunnstral played a game on MafiaUniverse.

Day 1 I wagoned the shit out of this dude called TrueGent because he put me off. He subs out and his replacement comes in. I continue to wagon him.

They don't allow you to discuss sub outs on that site, which I think is bullshit, but nevertheless I ask the mod " hey, is it allowed to talk about how the replacement MAKES the person scum?" just as a hypothetical and I get modkilled. I flip VT and what do you fucking know? Dude's replacement flips scum. Ironically my modkill worked as an angleshot for HIS lynch.
We can.
I forgot to mention my modkill sparked a huge ass thread on that rule. I think you can discuss subs there now.

Both Sick's and Nos's ISOs are shit, yet a few here which I feel may be Scum only complain about Sick. Frankly Sick's vote on me is beyond stupid. I mean, WHY? Why THE FUCK do people keep doing things in this game and NOT EXPLAIN WHY THE FUCK THEY ARE DOING IT. Just like with Nos he didn't explain SHIT. NO REASON. NO SUBSTANCE. And for theos fuckers complaining about Sick, Nosferatu is even WORSE about not providing any sort of content as to WHY he said and did the things he has said and done this game. At this point I feel like 'fuck it, why the fuck should I care about some guy who can't even provide a fucking reason for voting me?' I have no problem hammering Sick for his utter stupidity and lack of reason. I am BEYOND tired of providing damn good reason and content behind my moves yet see people like Nos and Sick continuously provide NOTHING.

And, ironically, those two might just be stupid Town, and Scum's using their idiocy against them. Frankly I do not not trust Boem and certain other players. My gut just looks at their behavior and leaves me wondering.

Also, I'm bother by how Varsoon all game has pretty much tunneled Dunnstral and interacted with only Titus... and then Zach and Transcend to minimal extent. Am I the only one to notice these things? We're going on 1300 posts and Varsoon has only spoken with FOUR out of FOURTEEN other players. Someone tell me that's a valid concern.

(Yeah I'm cranky, caffeinated, and in pain from surgery so don't take it personally.)

The only people I'm not willing to lynch today sans big development are podoboq (extreme-Town to pick at that post and question it), and Dunnstral/Titus (the
only
reason I'm not coming for you today is your Mason claim/gambit).

And Titus, I am so sick of you being a deceitful manipulator this game. I think you're Scum this game. I'm calling it now. Every chance you get you twist people's words and put words in people's mouths and try to tell people what they're doing when CLEARLY you have ZERO right to say what exactly someone is doing. I'm not able to get you lynched today because of your stupid gambit, but with each passing Day you supposed Masons survive I'll be gunning for you. I REMEMBER how you play as Town, Titus. You DON'T play underhandedly like this. I am calling it now. You will NOT ever be able to lynch me this game, and the ONLY way to get rid of me is if you sacrifice yourself to take me out during the Night, or one of your teammates. Every single time you twist something ever-so-subtly it gives me all the more reason to scrutinize you and, believe me, I have not even begun to fight. I don't care if you don't like being inspected or questioned. YOU WILL NOT avoid me: I will not allow it.

One, yes, I do? It's 19 player game. There's gonna be a lot of power. I also disagree that they're a "ridiculously strong town power." I mean just fucking look at what's happening today with people not believing the mason claim. Two, I don't actually think this [read: i think varsoon/zach are BSing]

No, I agree with Agar on this.

Two sets of Masons in a presumably-balanced Normal Game is a lot of Town power.

I like to keep track of players' claims for easy access so I don't have to go digging if I forget. It's nothing more. I know Plotinus makes very elaborate spreadsheets of how players interact with one another and stuff, but mine is nothing like that. Just claims.
I wonder if you've gotten them all so far...

I'm gonna make a brief list of player interactions.
And am gonna bold the names.
When flips happen the names go green or otherwise.

It'd be invaluable for endgame.

Wait.

What does that mean exactly?

Do you or do you not have a Mason PT with Daytalk enabled?

You are allowed to provide everything you and Titus have discussed in that PT, sans the links/quotes.

At an advanced level, I would hate to think two Scum with Daytalkwould devise a plan to look as if they were Town Mason-gambitting Day 1 only to sow chaos and confusion and eventually end on a recant back to average non-cleared suspicion.

Time will answer that.

BTW why are you putting me in your scumreads along with Sickofit1138? I had the feeling you were defending that guy and I've been pretty vocal about wanting to rope him.
My gut tells me the way you posy is very safe, almost couched. You don't really extend yourself, or put yourself at risk, or willing to say controversial things that will make enemies, as I do. The feeling I get is that you've been playing on the fence, like your goal is to self-preserve.

That's just what the gut tells me at the moment. I wouldn't mind lynching you today because I do trust my gut, but I would rather vote a few other choices before you today. And your feeling is questionable because I'm also willing to vote Sick because I said why. You wanting to rope someone I don't particularly trust does not make you more Town in my eyes.

Later I'll reread your ISO at my leisure and get a better idea of what you are and what you're doing.

Okay, fair point although you basically repeated same thing as in one of your previous posts.
I think enough
controversial things
have been said today so I don't feel the need to add more fuel to this chaos.
I'm not self-preserving, in fact I wouldn't mind that bad being lynched today or nightkilled because this game is draining me and I don't find it much fun. But that's selfish point of view so I'll stick with the game. Make of that what you wish.

Can we have VC soon?

So, to recap:

~ Titus claimed Mason and named Dunn, causing Dunn to go along with it.
~ T&D backlash ensues.
~ Zach and Varsoon counterclaim Masons.
~ Z&D mention Night talk. T&D say they have Daytalk.
~ Wake comes.
~ Z&D recant. Wake questions T&D about Mason PT data.
~ T&D recant.
~ So T&D and Z&D recant being Masons. So there are no current Mason PTs. Meaning T&D couldn't answer questions about PT specs.

1) Why now claim VT? What was your reason?

1) because I am sick of playing with people here.

1) That's a terrible reason. Bad play. Only claim when you must.

2) Never base your 'obvTown read' on someone this game on an ongoingone. Not cool. So not cool. I don't think you understand how not cool that shit is.

2) So what? I lie and say Dunn is scum? Dunn is town because ongoing.

2) Play with him based on what's said IN this game or what he's said in past, completed games. I hope you haven't broken any rules here.

3) You were trying to die N1? Why? If you're Town you could be utilized more effectively for Town by staying alive.

3) As a VT really? Come on man.

3) Instead of claiming VT you could have left it at the Mason recant, and then play as Town-Titus would.

I'm sorry, I'm aware people are analyzing what I'm saying, but I have no intention of playing this game with Titus any more. I've never been as angry playing a game, and the fact that some people are looking past this blatant anti-town behavior is fucking flabbergasting.
The greatest challenge is not overcoming Scum, but directing fellow Town to make the right moves.

Really? Faking macho bp to get an extra shot as cop. You should remember that?

Gundam Mafia I was not devious. I kissed your ass because you were too proud to compromise.
You just said it yourself in this very thread that you played little miss angel peacemaker that game.

Hm...

...

...

...

It's been about two years since we played that game. As angry as I am with you I'm not going to allow myself to be sloppy. If you did play little miss angel peacemaker as Scum there it doesn't mean if you're Scum here that you'd play the same way. It also doesn't necessarily make you Scum because a lot can change in two years' time.

God damn it.

I'm so fucking conflicted.

What I feel, what I want, is to lynch you right now so badly.

UNVOTE: Titus

I want you to remember this, Titus. You don't control this game. Everyone has a say.

The more cautious route, as Town, may be to withhold rage-lynching you now at least until Day 2 starts. We would have more information. It could be that you are Town but playing terribly, and maybe the Scum are actually on your wagon. Or you could be caught Scum and getting wagoned. I don't fucking know. What I do now is that I've been manipulated pretty hardcore in the past, so I have reason to be extremely cautious.

It doesn't help that the game thread is a sea of posts. It's a bitch trying to dive down and find things.

I'm certain Dunn and Varsoon are town. If Titus was scum here, she wouldn't get any points for WAAAAAAAHing to victory.

Should they be alive Day 2 and aren't active or logging in but doing nothing then yeah I feel they'd be viable options.

So now Zach absolutely refuses to vote Sickofit1138 and wants Vedith lynched.

I feel like at least one of Dunnstral/Zach/Titus is Scum, based on the constant flip-flopping. It's a severe lack of consistency.

Tentatively I'd be open to voting him Day 1, but the slot hasn't been as bad as other slots. If it were a choice between no lynch or Sickofit1138 I'd choose the latter.

And I have seen players engage more when called out on it.

Don't even try to say I'm an 'activity policeman' (whatever the fuck that is) for wanting certain players to participate in the game more. Stop being anti-Town and finding excuses for players not to play the game.

I'm curious how many times you've flip-flopped today. Also, the second sentence is bad.

@ GIF, could you clarify your position on this?

I'm not liking how you're saying "don't lynch Dunnstral because ~ongoing~ game. That sucks because you can keep saying no while not ever explaining yourself. This is why it shouldn't be done in the first place.

Why else do you think I fake claimed mason?

Certainly wasn't to survive. Policy is to lynch all mason claims @ lylo plus 1 day if not nked.
In post 2424, Titus wrote:It WAS the only way to remain in compliance. You think I like being told I am a dick, useless, damaging, disruptive, bad or anything else? No. That's not useful as either alignment. So, why do it?

I had no other choice. Scum can wait until l minus 1 and hope shit blows over or PR claim. I couldn't. Masons, although not ideal, was the only way not to cheat.
I feel like we need to just chill.

Town needs to work together. It's that simple.

Podoboq, if you suspect a player is Scum, and you're Town, you have every right to voice that opinion in-thread.

Don't allow anyone to try to silence you.

I don't understand the wagon on AGar.

I don't understand the wagon on Vedith.

I've felt this kind of feeling when it came to crazy, poorly explained wagons the last time I played a large Multiball game.

I'm really feeling that we are in Multiball. If it were one Town vs one Mafia all this would be different. 100 pages of constant struggling to change votes and minds tells me we have two competing Mafia factions. Don't like it? Sue me. That's what I'm feeling right now.

We have a little over 5 days left.

Though I think Titus would be a wise lynch, I don't think we will have the votes in time Day 1.

This means either AGar or Vedith, unless a better option happens.

I really didn't like how Nosferatu wouldn't provide content. That said, I don't know his Town meta.

Glancing at Vedith's ISO, I notice he has not once mentioned my name, or asked me a question, or challenged me. I demand confrontation. Engagement.

Boem_u_dusi, could you better explain your , where you say Vedith's posts are weak? I feel that requires clarity. Dunnstral saying that Vedith's posts are worse than Nosferatu's doesn't ring true from where I'm standing ().

...then again, it doesn't feel like Vedith is
not
trying to be noticed. I'm thinking about who
is
escaping my awareness...

Vedith's doesn't make me want to vote him.
Why?

He's got a point. There's little resistance to his wagon. I believe we're in Multiball. There's been a fuck-ton of nonsensical resistance to other wagons.

I'd rather see Titus lynched. All this resistance—all this hellbent fighting—to keep Titus from being lynched especially when she's a random like everyone else who has been found to have lied to everyone... it makes zero sense.

It's a sign. There's very little resistance to Vedith's wagon, but an immense—blatantly obvious—amount of resistance against Titus's wagon. Like certain people are bending over to save their teammate from getting lynched.

Tell me I'm wrong. Tell me it doesn't feel like we're in Multiball. Tell me Titus, being a random like the rest of us, doesn't have a suspicious amount of resistance to her wagon. Tell me Vedith's wagon has a lot of resistance. Just look at the game.
I'm paying attention to the
actions
.

VOTE: Titus

Interesting reaction.

I vote Titus, and very next post you move to Vedith.

The second sentence is vague, and I want to hear your personal reasoning why you refuse to vote for Titus today.

I
am
obvTown this game. It's a bitch trying to emulate my answer-hungry unknowing-Town mindset as Scum. I also soft-claimed.

At the moment I feel worn out from Day 1, and am in need of solid info: whatever the start of Day 2 brings, it's something to actually work with.

Also I'm in 3 other games now, so no more Reads Lists, because I need to play more briefly and efficiently.

You also posted this prior to me unvoting. Link Your revote came after my unvote and the wagon on me picked up steam.
That's irrelevant. If you're Town good job trying to dump shade on me when I've been going after Titus all Day. I'm frustrated with this game because Titus is the better lynch, and like usually happens I'll be shown to be correct during mid/late game. If people don't want to lynch Titus today, fine, but that will not make me change my vote.
