I won't speak for myself because that isn't useful, but odd just seems to be going through typical early game logic. I can see why he looks scum (given that I just pulled my vote off him), but after reading over without assuming I'm biased because he thinks I'm town, his follow ups to his vote (resulting in an unvote) seem genuine to me.

I got a good vibe the first time I read over his follow-ups, but I ignored it because I assumed there might be my own biases just liking the guy who believes I'm town.

How do you read something over yourself without assuming you're biased? I don't like the logic here I don't think.

First of all, I don't like how you just reversed the question, as it shows unwillingness to reason. Scum tell? Not on its own, but given your other responses...

I will answer you anyway because I'm nice.

Page 2 hammers are bad because information is good to have: the more of it the better. Longer day == more time for scum to slip up. Shorter day == less time for scum to slip up, sooner night, day 2 becomes a game of catching up. There is a point where it becomes stalling, but that point is not on page 2.

Of course there are some tradeoffs: power roles have more time to be outed which paints nice targets on their backs with longer days, whereas shorter days give cops/trackers/whatever an earlier investigation (meanwhile, doctors/roleblockers/similar stand to benefit from longer days). I believe that the tradeoffs on long early days are worth it and I don't think it's wise to bank on there being roles we aren't even sure exist in the setup.

No, because what we have to gain from the day is the interactions throughout the day, not the end result. Sure, it sucks we lynched a townie, but in the process of reaching even a false conclusion, we'll have more information to go on than if we lynched quickly.

Fast fail does not apply to this scenario.

I would like to see your point of view and reasoning, not just additional questions. Don't think my responses absolve you of the responsibility to answer my questions.

Thanks for the reply in 122. Was the point you made about oddmusic sufficient for a read? What do you think about his other posts? (I haven't looked but probably will so I can compare what I get from it to your answer). And see my post a couple back.

I'd like to see more from oddmusic. His post about Beef and I looking "very town" sticks out like others have noticed. I don't like his initial reaction to Srceenplay's reaction either. I'd probably say lean scum, but it's hard to tell with his lack of content.

The posts after were a little better. Though in retrospect, he could have done better to explain his list and why he thought each player belonged there. I'm probably subconciously biased due to him putting me in the green.

It is certainly better to ask them for their thoughts, it's a great way to enable discussion and as I mentioned I think that's the good part about your posts, but I see what Jodaxq (I think?) was getting at as there's not that much new content from your side. I'm not sure if that's worth a scumread for now however since as I said you're enabling discussion and I doubt that's what scum would want to do.

2 scum in (Dave, beef, screen, odd)

Let's look into these.

Dave - Just talked about him, I don't think his actions warrant a scumread from me for now as the game is young.

Beef - Hard to read. I talked about him flipping votes between Tchill and oddmusic early on and I'm honestly not too sure what to make of that but I lean towards keeping an open mind which is pro town. However there is stuff like his reaction to Havo in 154. But afterwards questions others, argues for a longer day which I would find logical (more intel and I honestly doubt PRs suffer under it? Unexperienced though). And he posts his reads which is good I think. My mind says nulltown but my heart says null somehow because some stuff seems weird and I don't know with which of those two to go for now.

Screen - For now my top suspect out of these four. Looking at his iso I feel like most of his posts aren't contributing that much (although he has okay content like 52). Samples in 40 47 75 129, and I'm also not sure what to think of him suggesting giving Havo a free pass since I'm not getting big town vibes from him either for similar reasons.

Odd - On second thought still a tad suspicious for having few posts and that whole reaction-to-srceen post. However his train of thought in 66 seems towny for me. Needs to contribute more.

This is where I'm at right now, and I feel good about all my town reads, I'd like to lynch one of HeWhoSwims, Tchill13, and UC Voyager.

HeWhoSwims reads as pretty scummy tonally to me, I look at them and keep thinking they;re scum, Also the only places they've pushed/brought attention to so far is people I think have a better chance at being town than scum

Wavemode's reads list looks nothing like mine but I'm ignoring that for now, they're null for me, I don't have much of an opinion

The majority of Tchill's iso is complaining about day 1, complaining about using other isos, and other fluff etc. Srceenplay brought up a good point where Tchill acting pretty different in another game.

UC Voyager hasn't done anything yet, though them saying "are we really out of rvs" seemed pretty scummy

HeWhoSwims strikes me as similar to how I used to play before I got more comfortable posting and interacting. I would make few posts and the ones I'd make would be long walls that scum pinged people. What he said was making sense though and that's what makes me think shy town

I think beefster and HWS have been towny in this page, which reflexively makes me unsure about this screenplay wagon because both are potential scum partners for him and I can't close a 3 person team with screenplay quite as easily anymore.

I suggest we lynch wavemode instead. everyone else posting gives at least some mild town vibes, which increases the scum equity in an otherwise null slot

I don't place much faith in team hunting before flips. In the absence of a neon sign I think team hunting prunes the lynch pool too drastically.
I didn't like wavemode's posting and he would be in my lynch pool, but I was planning to wait for his return. Waiting for the oddmusic replacement turned out to be the right move.

In the meantime there is other sorting to be done.

For once, I sort of agree with you. The fact that he's using his mason claim to do whatever he wants is unsettling. I'm beginning to second-guess the mason claim.

I don't think I've seen a completely uncounterclaimed and believable town role lynched day 1 and it seems horrible to me to do so. If this is an act and Toranaga and Maki are scum then we can figure it out when we have more information.

What do you think the purpose of the vote is?

I must be missing something because I cannot tell at all. We were just getting out of the shitposting pages which was mainly about Toranaga and Srceen. We had the mason hard claim and then they moved to Wavemode. Maki was on Dunnstral so he had zero votes when you voted him. It really didn't seem to serve any purpose at all, hence my comment.

Ok. Pushed me for L-1. Threw or agreed with shade against me for my screen compliment in another game, pushed me for high horse attitude. If anyone falls underneath these categories you're a scum lean. If you fall under all 3 you're scum. You know what scum love more than anything? Any cases against people that are actually town that make sense, are easy to push with fake ambition and make the one pushing the case look towny. All 3 of those reasons apply to that philosophy. That being said I'll leave it up to all the other players to distinguish who falls into those categories and if that philosophy is worth working with. The players that it doesn't apply to of course.

because if its a low info lynch NOW we've wasted 30 PLUS pages after you all screamed and cried longer day 1s benefit town but now we are settling on a low info lynch when everyone agrees im an idiot or scum. how odd is that? this is why you lynch on pg 2. no real info comes out of day 1. town talk in circles day 1. it happens every time.
