Town, upon being hammered before they get caught up, have an, "Oh this was so

my fault" attitude, and then go about to give details about what they have so far, and pound in the important parts. They're pissed, but they will contribute up to the moment the thread is locked. Basically, they help the town out of
spite
, because it's the right thing to do. (And their wincon.)
Scum, upon being hammered before they get caught up, are pissed, but it's because, "I didn't have the chance to manipulate the game yet!". Their best interests are to do two things: not give content in case they are legitimately hammered (which would give the town valuable info), and still post and rant in case they are not, hoping that the towncred from their rant will remove votes. They give content only when directly prodded to give content, and their focus is on themselves. This is what Mathblade did.
As both alignments, the player in question is pissed. As both alignments, the player in question is ticked off. But what they DO when in this state is fundamentally different. Mathblade ranted and raved and
stalled for time
. This is what scum do. Mathblade did not try to contribute new thoughts except after being directly prodded to do so. Town would have done so without being asked, automatically, as their first priority.
