Sadly, all the ones here are like $170 - I can't justify that for a single game. Christmas it is!

Let me just say how annoying it is to be in a class of "geeks and nerds", being one of the few people to
not
get x&y on release date.

The answer is very annoying.

It's not that big of a deal to not get it on release, you only just miss the intial hype and such. The special event Torchic with the mega blaziken stone(Only way to get mega blaziken) being given out is available until the 15 of January if that's anything you're interested in.

Unless you mean people being jackasses because you don't have the game or just genuinely obnoxiously nerdy, then yeah, just grin and bear it! :p
They're hardly being jackasses, and I'm not interested in event Blaziken at all (and at worst I'm getting it on Christmas), but its really annoying because so many people are going on about it makes me wish I had it.

EDIT: I've been spending the day watching an X&Y playthrough, so yeah.

Also, those are OBVIOUSLY not the Flabebe etc. sprites. They're still in 3DS form, for Christs sake. The last 2 on Flabebe are subjective.

Yo, glitch in X/Y that you'll want to avoid.

Avoid saving in Lumiose City for now, apparently it might freeze/corrupt your game.

Hey, does anyone want the Hawlucha egg I bred? I was looking to breed Fake Out onto Hawlucha, and it didn't work - I also have a second egg. It'll know Detect, Tackle, and Hone Claws.

Tell me if you want it! Hawlucha's pretty awesome.

EDIT: I also bred a Froakie egg with perfect Speed IVs. For all I know, Froakie Egg may come pre-packed with Waterfall and Surf, as I don't have two. In fact, it likely has at least one of the two.

Espurr doesn't learn Flamethrower via breeding - shame, really. Female Mewostic would've loved it. (this also means I have a blanket level 1 Espurr with no moves other than its base - haven't tested its EVs yet).

North
(West a bit until you see an exit) South

Mara's is Fighting type with Pancham and Machoke

Marquis is Ice with Beartic and Snorunt.

Also, IH has Liepard, like I mentioned a while ago.

I am so lucky. Bred an Adamant Absol with perfect IV (IVs not random - nature is. THIS WILL BE AWESOME!)

Not with an Everstone. Tip: use an Everstone.
I would have if I had a decent nature for the Absol.

But seriously, best nature possible AND 2 perfect IVs at random! Wow.

I got the parent Absol ingame(route 8, iirc). The Ditto was a trade from a FS, I believe.

Oh shut up.

That said, I just faced 2 Japanese doubles teams almost back to back using almost exclusively Mega Blaziken and legendaries (the 2nd one had Blastoise). I beat one of them, so I'm happy with that.

Wish/Petal Blizzard/Moonblast/Armoatherapy. TBH, I should've kept Protect on Florges. I was waiting for it to get something better than a 40BP stab move, and it took over 30 levels to get Moonblast (at 45/46 or something). Would not recommend, Sylveon is better for in game, IMO.

By the time I got Dazzling Gleam or w/e, I was within 5 levels of getting Moonblast, so I just waited for that to evolve it.

Who do you give Strength and Rock Smash to? More than once I've stumbled across a rock to smash or to move and been glad I had my HM buddy.

Also, how did you only use Fly TWICE in the main adventure? I used it about four times in the first half hour I had it.
Because I like walking around, seeing the sights. I also didn't backtrack. At all.

Also, Venusaur had Strength for a while (but got it removed later), and I believe Absol had Rock Smash?

Hordes+Poke'rus+Power item/macho brace = complete EV training in like half an hour or less.
Horde Encounters actually provide EV? Also, what power items do you suggest?
Power Items are EV specific - Macho Brace gives EVs no matter what the EV is.

Admittedly I've been playing solely OU and Gen 5 OU. My rank's around 1600 right now, but hits about 1800 on a good day, so yeah. I think this team works pretty well.

I was planning on using Flying Gem Acrobatics, but it wouldn't let me - so I stuck a Yache Berry on instead due to all the Greninjas with Ice Beam and gave him Unburden.

Yup. Current set is SD/HJK/Acro/U-turn. Which seems kind of silly with the Yache Berry, but I'll be using HJK and U-turn more often anyways.

Oh Brandi, one of the Dittos I caught has 0 speed IVs - you still need that? I also have 2 Sp. Defence/Speed IV Dittos.

Banning SR would be interesting, and Sticky Web would certainly become more of a thing. I'd be willing to say that tiers would shift really drastically.

Reuniclus. Its defensive stats are kinda mediocre, but its got a pretty good HP stat and can set up Trick Room itself.

In regards to fairies with high defensive stats, my first thought is Togekiss.

Somebody needs to help me with my team because all I've done is lose since I won against Nati.

Spoiler: OU Beta Team
Hawlucha (M)
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- High Jump Kick
- Acrobatics
- U-turn

Hawlucha is far from the star of this set - I just wanted to experiment with Hawlucha and see what he can do. Unfortunately, I'm being let down quite a bit - he dies in 1 hit to everything.

Absol @ Absolite
Ability: Justified
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Fire Blast
- Megahorn

Absol is my standard anti-hazards lead against everything but Galvantula. It works really well, but suffers from lack of defenses. The EVs are in special attack because I can get the odd boost from SD and just wreck everything.

Aegislash @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- King's Shield
- Shadow Sneak
- Sacred Sword
- Swords Dance

I believe this is a standard Aegislash set. Shadow Sneak makes for great revenge kills, and Sacred Sword is amazing - Aegislash has no problems setting up, either.

Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Surf
- Psychic
- Ice Beam
- Rapid Spin

My one worry about Starmie is that I have it holding the LO for extra damage. On a team with generally low defenses, this seems like a bad idea. That said, Starmie is my spinner, so I want to not have a Choice Item on Starmie. Starmie is also my sole fire type counter - not something I'm particularly fond of, with Ferrothorn, who's 4x weak to fire.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 48 Def / 208 SDef
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Gyro Ball

Ferrothorn is my "unbrakeable" wall - it can sit there and Leech Seed, SR, and just watch things die to it on a good day. I'm considering Power Whip over Gyro Ball, just because water types, but eh.

Gengar @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Destiny Bond
- Focus Blast
- Sludge Bomb
- Shadow Ball

Gengar is sashed because otherwise he takes a hit and dies - and I can at least prevent this one (and potentially KO back with Destiny Bond). Gengar just needs more speed, because holy crap he's way slower than I remember.

Mega Absol is the one thing that I want to keep.

I didn't know Absol got Play Rough. Huh. That's a change I should make. I would use SashKazam, but that's a lot of bug (read: Volcarona) weaknesses.

I'll consider Gliscor or T-flame, just to see what happens.

I'll take a look at Rotom-W's Gen V sets, and see which one I think I need most(I'm generally anti-choice items) - it'll also give me an easy way to KO Talonflame without relying on Gengar's sash, which is nice.

EDIT: Derp. It's a trick set. My bad.

That's not too bad. FWG is a great core. You just have some overlap 'tis all.

So, I'm considering running from Ou (beta) to Pokebank OU, and switching Ferrothorn for Heatran as a Volcarona counter. Thoughts?

I just don't want to deal with stupid Genesect.

I would also like to say that Trevanant did less than 50% of Mega Absol's health with an EQ - god that sucks.

I'm trying to
not
bitch about Genesect, but holy crap - I run Heatran as a counter to Genesect, Volarona, and T-flame and I
still
lose to every Genesect I see.

I really want to like the Pokebank meta, I really do - but Genesect should've been banned with Blaziken.

And this is where I disagree, stating that I prefer KO'ing things, and not letting T-flame switch in twice because it has odd numbered health.

It's a mix of personal favouritism and I need something that can at least potentially take on Mega Khan - plus Poison Heal is amazing.

Also, rotom-W can only check T-flame and Volcarona (more so Volcarona) if he's already out, from personal experience. I want something that can switch in and OHKO both no problem. And SR is a plus, because I don't want to remove SE from Gliscor.

Brandi stole my words - he literally needs to have Protean & LO to have the damage that a base 122 should have, and is extremely frail defensively. Essentially he takes one neutral hit (maybe two if you're lucky), and is forced to U-Turn out and not doing anything for the rest of the game. I already have one pokemon lacking in defenses in my team, I don't need another.

My opinion on the HP moves is that they're only good for things with 2x weaknesses now (Ferrothorn, Heatran, Magnezone, Gliscor, most dragon types, etc.) - everything else just doesn't take enough damage. Hell, I've had Ferrothorn
live
HP fire when at full HP from Greninja on occasion.

I admittedly have Gliscor w/ Stone Edge for T-flame, but its nice to have a backup plan - I'm OK with Earth Power, I guess.

EDIT: On top of that, I've lost pretty much every match today solely because I'm the unluckiest bastard ever and everyone crits me all the time on every hit - anyone else want a free win?

Yeah, I'm putting AncientPower back on Heatran thanks to the fact that I just got 6-0 swept in Pokebank (the one with Heatran in it) to a Volcarona when I 5-0'd everything else.

Not listening to anyone who says AP is shitty move, play with htis tema on Pokebank, then tell me otherwise:

Stop saying SR is a counter - every Volcarona ever packs Roost. Also, Gliscor dies on one hit to any special attack with decent power behind it, Rotom-W goes down to Bug Buzz. If I use the turn to switch in to, say, Gliscor (the only thing packing a rock move), it can either go straight for the Fiery Dance and 2HKO before Gliscor moves, or it can Dance and then confirm KO Gliscor before it can attack.

Also, Bug Buzz - it was able to KO Starmie despite Starmie packing Surf and almost KO'ing it. So I went in to Heatran to just knock off a little bit of damageand KO it, but it decided to Roost. I don't even understand why Volcarona
has
Roost - it can't fly.

No it will not - I just had Earth Power from Heatran do 11% damage to a Volcarona - that's FAR AND AWAY from beating it.

I do not need Heatran to take on other what you guys are assuredly thinking of - I need Heatran to KO (KO. Not Roar out, not cripple) Genesect and Volcarona. THAT'S IT. What are the best two moves for doing that? Lava Plume and AP, as they KO respective Pokmeon in one hit.

I invite EVERYONE to come battle me 1 on with Volcarona vs. Heatran with Earth Power. You'll see just how bad it is then.

EDIT:
In post 746, T S O wrote:Finally, if you really feel you're Volcweak, why not change some EV's on Gliscor to ensure that it can take the hit? Same with Rotom-W
Because I don't want to move all of my defence EVs into special defence is why.

So, I'm going to Toxic Volcarona, let it get to +1, switch out to (let's say Rotom-W), let it get to +2, and then sweep my team.

Great idea.

Alternatively, I can Roar it out, then move to something else, have it come back in, and watch it Roost (not just once, but TWICE) as I send in Heatran to roar it out again.

Bloody brilliant, I say.

+1 252+ SpA Volcarona Lava Plume vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Gliscor: 280-331 (79 - 93.5%) <- I run this set
+1 252+ SpA Volcarona Lava Plume vs. 252 HP / 0+ SpD Gliscor: 255-301 (72 - 85%)
+1 252+ SpA Volcarona Lava Plume vs. 252 HP / 184+ SpD Gliscor: 204-241 (57.6 - 68%)

Not the best looking stats, and considering how often I use Gliscor, it's considerably likely to not be at full HP.

Also, I want a way to beat every set - not just ones without Roost that don't turb this game into stall wars.

WoW Rotom-W and Gliscor is how I counter Mega Khan.

It works 85% of the time!

Poison Heal is a Dream World Ability, Stealth Rock(and Defog)can only be got from Gen IV TMs. I hadn't even thought about it until the little notification showed up.

You're not playing Pokebank? o-0

So, one december 26th or w/e, you'll be able to create it. Gotcha.

Claus, I'll get you one! Just add my FC, and it should be no problem. I'll take just about anything - I already have a ton of Dittos, but if you have one with perfect Attack & Special Attack, that'd be perfect.

EDIT: Found! I'm willing to trade when you are.

Rotom + forms have Levitate, so that's another way to deal with Equake, FYI. Also, Electivire > Zebraika IMO. It gets better coverage and isn't frail.

Mega Medicham for most underwhelming Mega form. It can't break through Aegislash in blade form with STAB Psycho Cut & Bullet Punch. I was able to get in a Swords Dance and then KO it...
