I am asking because your vote and reasoning behind it matter to me more than otherd at this time (early game). I fon't know Papa Zito that well, and tossing a coin would give me better results on implosion than my own reads. BEF is impulsive. I don't understand mqueens vote, and I asked before Varsoon had voted Enter. So, the only one I can actually get an explanation from is you.

Pf course, I could go with "there's no resistance to the wagon" to try and defend Enter, but I'd be a hypocrite because I actually do NOT have a read on Enter, and because early flash-wagons have netted us scum at least twice before (iirc those were games with Mathdino), so I;m neither for nor against the wagon on Enter.. until I get to understand it (ir until he gives me something to sink my teeth into).

The original (most common) variant of Hider dies when targeting non-Town. My game had a total of 7 non-Town players (incl. the Hider, a Lyncher, a 3-man group scum, and 2 SKs) vs 10 Town, so I made sure the Hider does NOT die when targeting a non-townie.

Not exactly, but statistically a 5 person wagon has a higher probability of the 3rd slot being scum than the other 4. I used to use that in my own scum hunting when I started playing, so I do understand. (I forgot the exact distribution and I think it only related to D1 mislynches in Newbie games though)

I did read it initially, and then once again when you asked me about it. Varsoon is not talking to me and I do not usually intervene when someone is engaging someone else in an apparent attempt to get a better read on them. It's not my place to interrupt the conversation between the two of them.

As for the questions, I think they convey a certain way of thinking that's going through Varsoon's head, and -again- it's his prerogative to express his thoughts however he feels best. He can imply he hard TRs a slot or is skeptical about another, or that he can't understand the logic behind someone else's argument.

My question is: WHY are you asking ME SPECIFICALLY about something VARSOON SAID. Why not ask him? Why didn't you ask Zito about them implications?

It's a bit complicated, but I'll try to sum it up: I try not to give subtle cross-reference to ongoing games. If I had given you an explicit TR here while we were "dodging each other" there it could've given someone a clue. Now I know Robert was on out team there, and Chara wasn't even playing there, but -as proven- some people like NSG may have been watching and getting ready to join as a replacement. I dunno if she's watching THIS game, but if she is then she would have easily been able to put 2 & 2 together.

Oh, and that's exactly why I posted 341 around the same time I did it in that game, so it looks like I am genuinely frustrated with you as a person and not a smoke screen in one particular game (but you probably understood why I did it, so I hope you didn't mind).

I have. I played him as both alignments and he doesn't make sense as either, so if you catch any contradictions don't make much of them as that's definitely NAI for him.

Disclaimer: I am NOT calling him a bad player. In fact, I think he is one with a genuine style. I just have yet to figure out how to tell his alignment based on what type of confusion he's spreading.

Back to the quoted, I think I have to reiterate: ENTER WAS NOT SHOT OVER ANYONE. ENTER WAS NOT SHOT AT ALL.

According to what has been said so far Enter SR both BEF AND redtea (Enter's own Lover). Obviously that was not reason enough to spare redtea, and if I was scum and had the option to shoot between redtea and BEF I would definitely shoot the former 10 times out of 10, just because BEF is always scummy and is very much mislynchable ( I recall his gambit on Overkill2, and the one before that when he claimed a Day Cop when he was effectively a "named townie" and got himself lynched on D1). STOP PUSHING THE LOW HANGING FRUIT.

Sp far, all I can say is this "looks" more like town!him than scum!him, and town!BEF is more likely to say "I can confirm myself" when he actually can't. In fact, he could very well have been trying to bait the NK unto himself and his gambit didn't work.

Also something I remembered now that may or may not have anything to do with the game: redtea hinted there might be a 3P role in-play. I went back to reread his PM (and Enter's) and could find any redacted info, and the phrasing of either doesn't suggest any 3P roles. This is irrelevant in itself, but

IF there is

a 3P killer then they may have been the one to have shot redtea, and the group scum kill may have been saved (If there's a Doctor/Jailer .. etc, please keep this in mind and use it IF we ever flip a 3P killing role)

Erm.. I take it you're asking about the game I was modding? NVM. I'll answer both:

In a game I was a Town Gunsmith BEF faked a Day Cop. He was actually a "N8 Vig" and it was a mini, so definitely a named Townie only meant to be a Miller to me.

In OK2 he was a PGO, but he didn't claim. Instead he faked a guilty on another slot (was a town player).

Btw, so far I've only seen him claim/fake claim as Town. As scum he was lynched on D1 for PT slipping (posted in the main thread thinking he was posting in the scum PT).

My evaluation here is

Can anyone explain exactly what a motivator is? I thought it would be like a reload for another players x-shot role, but the wiki says it enables a player to do two actions in one night. This is only possibly useful on a player who has two night actions and that just seems bizarre to me

Not really. This version (the one where you quote the wiki) makes a Cop -say- do 2 investigations on the same night. A Tracker can track 2 different players, and so on. They don't have to be 2 "different types" of actions.

But yeah, I ant to know what version the mod is using here, because the motivator can be interpreted differently be each mod, so I say it must be specified in the role PM.

P.S. Also, if we're going by the wiki standards then "Generally speaking, Motivators are Town-aligned, but not seen outside role madness games." should also apply, which should answer your previous question about what makes it a town role.

this was a "softing scum". being Ascetic, Chara doesn't worry much about Percy, but they want the motivator gone sooner than later, and tying BEF with mcqueen hints Chara wants to bus mcqueen if they could.

Level of confidence is 50% though. Chara is hard to read for me as both alignments. As Scum they're capable, and as Town they sometimes do some weird moves (of course the same can be said about me, but I don't know if I would try to save Zito if I was scum with him, and I sure wouldn't try to shade a claimed PR when I'm town).

I had 3 different actions at my disposal, but I could only use ONE each night. The multi-tasking modifier would have let me use all 3 on the same night (N1) or the two remaining (N2), so I know why a TOWN role like that would exist.

I only have one more ability unused by now, but I would rather not claim ANY of the 3 before D4 (and if I get NK'd you'd know all 3 anyway, and since they yield no investigative results you'd be missing nothing, as I have no additional info to reveal)

I think it was meant to be used on me (only I didn't know it existed and BEF claimed it way too late after he had used it on D2), OR to be used on Scum (which WOULD be a negative utility).

Like, I don't really mind if he uses it on someone else provided I TR them, but that only means YOU and I don't want you shot tonight. What I had was 2-shots of Huntress Boltcaster (Night) + 1 shot FLAVOR COP (Day). I am also DISLOYAL. (I've been trying to be coy and even deliberately misleading with my previous claim.
I used the Huntress shots on Varsoon (N1) & Elbrin (D2) and had assumed it only hit Elbrin so he's SCUM. I have used my lie detector on Percy's claim and it returned FALSE (remember, the fact it returned a result at all is proof enough he's scum).
The rest is clear: I was still trying to bait the NK. When you guys see my flip you will know Elbrin is Scum as soon as you see the Disloyal bit.

I was still unsure who the third might be, because

I didn't even know what Huntress Boltcaster was and I specifically asked YOU about it when Elbrin claimed he received it, so I OBVIOUSLY didn't use it on him. I just made it all up because I believed you were scum with him and Percy. Motivator doesn't make sense and makes the game quite swingy. It all depends on whether he hit Town or Scum with his 1-shot. So, unless all 3 scum have no abilities at all (or at least one of them is literally a goon) the game could become very scum sided with the single use of BEF's ability on one of them (instead of having to sacrifice one ability for the sake of using their factional kill they get to use all 3 abilities AND get to shoot someone).

Obviously this isn't a 100% proof of his guilt, but if we don't lynch him today he will be lynched, and EVEN if we get lucky today lynching a scum we would be 5 v 2 tomorrow so, same thing .. lynch a scum or risk having BEF in LyLo all the same.

i also very much disagree that his now-claimed ability is swingy. one scum getting the multitask ability isn't exactly the end of the world for town.

I am saying that 1-shot is more swingy than multiple shots. If he is Town (thus uninformed) his

use of his ability multiple times yields a much higher probability of hitting town than a 1-shot.

13 players. BEF is one so 12 targets. You are Ascetic (and claimed, which is standard play) thus 11 options, 8 of which are town and 3 are scum. A 27% if giving scum a 50% boost (they should be using only 2 abilities per night, but instead get to use all 3).

If he had 3 shots chances are he will hit 2 town and 1 scum (regardless of the order) so it evens out.

And now that I think of it more it sounds more ridiculous. Like, what if he used his ability on D1, hit scum and then got lynched or NK'd? So, actually even multiple shots now feels like a bad thing to town, and the ONLY thing working for him is Elbrin's "scum claim" that his role cannot be modified.

Like, if BEF flips green Elbrin is 100% scum here. No ifs or buts.

Varsoon is an obvious pick, but "A50's moonlogic manifest" has an obscure entry about scum!Varsoon inability to vote in exchange for a nightkill. (Yeah, that's just so farfetched I shouldn't even have brought it up). First the read list looks dine to me. A clear on me + BEF at the top. If BEF is Town & Percy is scum, why would scum!implo want to lynch his buddy over the TPR. And how does he know the TPR can't prove himself?

If it's the other way around, why preemptively implicate his buddy and hint TMI on himself?

Of course, they could BOTH be Town, but -again- why the "if he doesn't verify his role" bit?

Also, (and this is important) why would scum!implp shoot in you/Varsoon if both Percy AND BEF are Town?

Why are we lynching in me/mcqueen? We went for zito because we were trying to PoE the neighborhood, and now we've been blessed with an extra mislynch and we're going to not do that??

Self preservation is NAI, and the reason for the Zito lynch is what we all did (I personally did).

If people aren't wanting to lynch persivul because of his PR claim then, eh? sure? but then why are we lynching mcqueen?? That's just throwing away the info we've gotten. If Persivul is town and we get multiple scum flips that are not typhon phantoms then we can effectively clear him.

This only looks bad IF mcqueen flips red. Otherwise it's a valid argument given his read list above.

That said, I really don't think it should be a valid reason to not lynch him especially given we have a ML to work with now. If he's town then we're losing a probably weak PR but I really don't think he is, barring a vig claiming to have shot redtea. I'm typically the person saying that it's dumb to strongly assume NK reasons but I really don't think redtea makes sense as a kill for any other reason and I find the ideas of BEF scum or scum who was lurking in the hood implausible.

Elbirn's vote on BEF makes a lot of sense he and persi are scum and mcqueen is town. I actually think the read I feel worst about out of skitter/chara/mcqueen is skitter.

At this point he didn't know you (skitter) gifted him the cop shot, so not liking his own read about you is still normal. If you don't like that try claiming you're an A50 alt in a game with a bunch of players from a certain list (that includes him) and see how you feel about it.

The question is why does he? He knows I'm manipulative as Town, so he either shoots me at night or tries to lynch me by day and he didn't even try to shoot me at night. Why also make me unlynchable? To what end?

Also, why is Percy still alive? Scum had no way of predicting the NK would fail, so today should have been a 5 v 3 MyLo. In that case one of BEF/Percy must be scum, because if both are town and we have been chasing our tails all along then there's every reason for scum to shoot between the two and then have us lynch the other and go into the night as 4 v 3 (i.e. Scum win).

Alright. I think I can lynch within the VT claims today. If for nothing else, then to try and see what that "whatever" (I'm not gonna go look it up AGAIN) thing that hit Elbrin is. Varsoon said it looks like an explosive substance (and he provided a video), and the fact nobody claimed it makes me think it might be something else other than just a "fruit" so to speak.

If you both (Chara & skitter) think implo+mcqueen are a team then why not lynch mcqueen first? mcqueen >> implo makes better sense because Percy cleared mcqueen. A green flip here clears both Percy and implo IMHO, and a red flip makes them both more likely scum.

Btw, and without giving too much info; I had 2 "targeting" abilities, and one that does not target anyone in specific. Both targeting abilities were "protective" shots. So, it makes sense that Chara's protection also blocks the target. That means my N1 protection on skitter failed. I won't state which protection I used on skitter. I won't state what the other protection was nor whom I used it on (or why), and I won't state the remaining ability either. Those can be left for the morrow (or be revealed upon my flip).

@Chara: I changed my mind. Now that we're looking like we're on the right track, it is best NOT to target me tonight. I will use my third ability instead, and you be on skitter again. Thank you.

I am the FlexyFoam Guy. It is NOT an alignment thing (i.e. I am neither Loyal nor Disloyal). I hit Percy, Elbrin & BEF, and I though Percy was scummy for not claiming it. He said he was Roleblocked, which should not have prevented my shotn from going through (since it's not a kill), AND I couldn't have been RB'd myself. It wasn't until Chara claimed that I understood what happened.

And I was waiting to see if BEF will claim it or not. I was hoping scum might be afraid it might be something or another that they should not claim. I mean, my role was pretty useless anyway, so I tried to do somethung with it.

Btw, I'm still hoping this FlexiFoam is more than just a "fruit" I deliver at random, but I wasn't told much about it in my role PM. Based on Varsoon's explanation though I wouldn't be surprised if it paved the way for a Vig to shoot someone and they only die if they have it on them, which is why I want to lynch mcqueen over both Elbrin & BEF anyway.

If mcqueen is scum (and I think he is) we are good. If he is somehow town, and there's such a Vig, then they know where to shoot already.
